From August 3 to 9, with the blessing of Metropolitan George of Nizhny Novgorod and Arzamas, the Orthodox exhibition-fair “Nizhny Novgorod region - the land of Seraphim of Sarov” will be held in Nizhny Novgorod. 2018 is an anniversary year for the exhibition, which has been taking place in Nizhny Novgorod for 15 years. During all this time, it was visited by more than 1 million people from different regions of the country.

The official opening ceremony of the exhibition will take place on August 3 at 12:00 in the chapel of pavilion No. 1 of the Nizhny Novgorod Fair and will be accompanied by a solemn prayer service in front of the shrine - the icon Royal Passion-Bearers from the Holy Ascension Pechersk Monastery.

The exhibition will be located in the 1st and 3rd pavilions of the Nizhny Novgorod Fair and will unite 500 Orthodox and secular organizations from Russia, Ukraine, Belarus, Greece, Moldova, Montenegro, Mongolia, Israel, Georgia and Syria.

In the 1st pavilion at the stands of more than 200 monasteries and temples, locally revered shrines, church utensils, personalized icons, a variety of jewelry, CDs and DVDs with lectures and conversations by priests, clothes from Orthodox fashion designers, healing ointments and honey from monastery apiaries, Orthodox-themed souvenirs. The Patriarchal Publishing and Printing Center of the Holy Trinity Sergius Lavra and the Father's House Publishing House will offer a wide selection of Orthodox literature. For the first time, the Rock Monastery of St. Thekla from the city of Maaloula (Syria), one of the main Christian shrines of the country, will take part in the exhibition.

In the 3rd pavilion secular organizations and entrepreneurs will present traditional and exclusive varieties of honey to visitors, Chinese teas, cold-pressed oils, seasonings and spices, sweets and confiture, dairy products from the Arzamas region, olives from Greece. The main shrine of the exhibition this year was the icon of the Holy Royal Passion-Bearers from the Nizhny Novgorod Ascension Pechersky Monastery. The opening ceremony of the forum was preceded by a prayer service in front of this image in the chapel of the exhibition complex.

The service was led by a vicar. For honey - to the fair!

Since 2003, the exhibition “Nizhny Novgorod region - the land of Seraphim of Sarov” has been held several times a year at the Nizhny Novgorod Fair and attracts huge number ordinary Nizhny Novgorod residents. These shots were taken at the 2015 exhibition.

I don’t know about you, but for me this exhibition is primarily associated with honey. There is a great variety of it here, different colors, tastes and cost.

Famous producers arrived, for example, from Altai and Bashkiria, from other environmentally friendly and even “sanctified” places...

And next to it you can compare the honey with some “nomadic family apiary” or from God-forsaken Uryupinsk.

But the fair is not only famous for its honey. The huge first pavilion is entirely dedicated to Orthodox themes. It was simply too crowded.

Monasteries and churches in Russia, and even Greece and Israel brought icons, books, and products from monastic farms.

In front of the pavilion, on the stage, charity events, concerts, lectures, and events for children are held. And in the photo there is a prayer service before the opening of the exhibition.

The most revered image at the exhibition this time was the icon of St. Macarius of Zheltovodsk and Unzhensk with a particle of his relics.

In the neighboring pavilion No. 2, half of the space is given over to children.

For the first time, the Nizhny Novgorod Family festival is taking place during the exhibition-fair. Children from 3 to 17 years old will be able to have a good time, and their parents will be able to meet talented teachers, psychologists, and the best educational projects in Nizhny Novgorod.

Family events take place here interactive games and master classes on the development of logic and memory, sand animation, soapy 3D geometry, a master class on creating flexatons, chemical experiments, art therapy, toy making, puzzles, miraculous transformations and scientific tricks, robotics and design of simple mechanical devices...

At this time, adults can shop at the neighboring stands... Shoes and clothes (though not so cheap).
