""Assistant in childbirth""

Most Holy Virgin, Mother of our Lord Jesus Christ, who weighed the birth and nature of mother and child, have mercy on Thy servant (name), and help in this hour, that her burden may be resolved safely. O All-Merciful Lady Theotokos, even though Thou didst not demand help in the birth of the Son of God, grant help to this Thy servant, who requires help, especially from You. Grant her blessings at this hour, and give birth to a child like her and bring her into the light of this world; grant her, at the right time, the gift of light in holy baptism with water and spirit. We fall down before you, Mother of the Most High God, praying: Be merciful to this mother, the time has come for her to be a mother, and beg Christ our God, who has become incarnate from you, to strengthen you with His power from above. For His power is blessed and glorified, with His Beginningless Father, and His Most Holy and Good and Life-Giving Spirit, now and ever and unto ages of ages. Amen.

Prayer to the Lord Jesus Christ

Lord Jesus Christ, our God, begotten of the Eternal Father by the Son before the ages and in the last days, by the good will and assistance of the Holy Spirit, deigned to be born of the Most Holy Virgin as a child, given birth and laid in a manger. The Lord Himself, who in the beginning created man and woman, bound him, giving them the commandment: Grow and multiply, and fill the earth; According to Your great mercy, have mercy on Your servant (name), who is preparing to give birth according to Your commandment. Forgive her voluntary and involuntary sins, by Thy grace grant her the strength to be safely relieved of her burden, keep her and the baby in health and well-being, protect me with Thy Angels and save her from the hostile action of evil spirits, and from all evil things. For You are the Good and Lover of Mankind, and we send glory to You, to the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit, now and ever and unto ages of ages. Amen.

Conspiracies and customs

Do not forget that at the time of birth you should untie all the knots on the clothes, unfasten the locks, buttons, undo the hair and unlock the padlocks. They read the spells between contractions and stroke themselves on the stomach from top to bottom, and then on the sides.
1.Christ was born, and we are expecting a baby. Amen.

2. While the candle burns out, she will give birth. Amen.

3.Isaiah, rejoice the human race through our Savior Christ. Amen.

4.Jesus Christ in heaven, living soul in calves, may my words be molded, strong, lighter than stone, lighter than a sharp knife, lighter than a damask knife. Teeth, key, mouth, lock. Lord, accept my spirit. Amen.

5. Mother of God, stand at the head of the bed, light a candle not for peace, light a candle for health. Guardian Angel, deliverer of sufferers, save, save. Save the slave (name) from death. Amen.

6. As the waters begin to flow, let the woman in labor say:
I trust the Mother of God, in her arms.
Take the pain away from me, Mother.
Save, preserve and protect, help me during childbirth.
In the name of the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit. Amen.

7. In case of prolonged torment, you should turn out your husband’s trousers, lay them on the floor and, standing with your back to them, step over them, as if backing away. At the same time they say:
Don’t walk, spool, in the womb,
don't look for the baby, he's here,
he goes - his mother and father are waiting.
The Mother of God blesses, the womb releases into the light.

8. When labor has gone on too long, you need to sprinkle water from your mouth onto the woman in labor and say:
Water from your mouth, baby from you.

9.Put a couple of testicles in a mug of water and say:
Like a hen laying eggs easily,
So would you, slave (name),
The child brought it easily.
In the name of the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit. Amen.
Then give a spoonful of this water to the woman in labor. She will give birth quickly and easily.

10.Put on ring finger thimble and baptize the navel of the woman in labor, saying:
Iron door, unlock the bolt.
Stone mountain, golden domes,
holy crosses,
Lord bless
Pierce the waters, begin childbirth, whom God gives.
In the name of the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit. Amen.

11.If it is unbearable to endure the long pangs of childbirth, let the woman in labor turn in the direction where the sun is in the sky, and if it is night, then the moon. She needs to cross herself three times and say this:
Lord my God,
I, slave (name), stand in front of you.
There are two thrones before me,
On those thrones sit Jesus and the Mother of God,
They look at my tears.
Blessed Mother Theotokos
Holds golden keys
she opens meat caskets,
releases the baby from the womb:
from my flesh, from my hot blood.
Lord, take away the aches,
pinches, visceral pain!
How the Mother of God gave birth without torment, without pain,
open the bone gates.
In the name of the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit.

12. The woman in labor crosses herself three times and says:
I will cross myself three times,
I will be blessed by God.
Queen of Heaven, I will pray to You.
Take the golden keys,
open the mountains of meat, shed blood,
and for me, slave (name), let me hold the baby in my arms
In the name of the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit

Icon of the Mother of God "Help in Childbirth"

The holy image miraculously appeared in 1993 in Russian city Serpukhov. During the period of Great Lent, the rector of the Church of St. Nicholas the Bely gave communion at home to an old woman who asked her granddaughter to get an icon of the Mother of God from the attic. The image with a darkened robe, covered in cobwebs and many years of dust, was given to the priest in the temple. It is known that through prayers to this image, childbirth is successful, and it also heals from infertility. Now the miraculous icon is in the St. Nicholas Cathedral of Serpukhov.

Having painlessly been relieved of her burden, the Mother of God is a strong intercessor before God for all those burdened and suffering. The icon “Help in Childbirth” is brought into the pregnant woman’s room and into the maternity ward. Through prayers before the image, childbirth proceeds safely even with various complications.

The name of the icon is the words from the Gospel of John “And the word became flesh” (“And the word became flesh”) (John 1:14). Now the icon is kept in the new Annunciation Cathedral. In this image, the Mother of God with her head covered holds her hands below the Infant God without clothes. The iconographic type of the icon is “Immaculata” (“Most Pure”).

Every birth is a miracle: about the effective assistance to women of the image of the Mother of God “Helper in Childbirth”

In pious families even in our time you can see the icon of the Mother of God, called the “Helper in Childbirth.” On this icon, the Blessed Virgin is depicted standing tall and raising her hands to the mountain, with the Child at her breasts, as in the icon of the Sign.

Mothers bow before this icon in fervent prayers, calling for help to the blessed Virgin Mary, who painlessly gave birth to Christ the Savior. Women in labor themselves, their husbands, and pious relatives pray to the Mother of God and Her miraculous image “Helper in Childbirth.”

Obstetrician-gynecologist Lyudmila Nikolaevna Koval, who has been helping women for more than 20 years, shares her experience. Lyudmila Nikolaevna works at the Ratnovsky central district hospital in the Volyn region. She came to our Center “Family in Joy” for a seminar on Orthodox psychology, where she shared with us her experience of faith.

“When I teach classes on preparation for childbirth, I always tell women and their relatives that the most effective help in childbirth is prayer. We are a believing, Orthodox people. I show the icon “Helper in Childbirth”. And many women in childbirth turn to the Mother of God, the intercessor for all Christians, for help. When contractions are not yet active, they sing the prayer “Virgin Mother of God, Rejoice...”. If relatives are involved in the birth, they also prayerfully ask for the woman in labor and the child, and with faith they read the Akathist to the Mother of God to her image, “Helper in Childbirth.” Through the prayer of the mother and father they are born healthy child, less painful for the mother.

It happens that a problem arises during childbirth, for example, the process of dilation of the cervix is delayed, then all together - I, the doctor and the woman - pray to the Mother of God. The icon “Helper in Childbirth” is always with me in the delivery room; often the women themselves bring it with them to maternity hospital this image. And the Most Holy Theotokos comes to the rescue, the birth takes place naturally, without complications, the mother rejoices, the father rejoices, and I rejoice along with them.

Every birth is a miracle: how wisely and amazingly the Lord created man! As a doctor, obstetrician-gynecologist with many years of experience, I can say that many times through prayers to the Mother of God to our Lord Jesus Christ, women and their newborn children received help. And I thank you for being able to witness it. Most Holy Theotokos, save us!”

St. Nicholas Cathedral in Serpukhov

WITH Among the architectural monuments of late classicism in the city of Serpukhov, the Church of St. Nicholas Bely indisputably occupies first place both in artistic merit and in its urban planning significance (it serves as the main high-rise dominant for the entire area of old, historically developed buildings).

N Ikolsky Church on Kaluzhskaya Street has a long and complex construction history. It was originally made of wood. He appears as such in documents of the 16th - early 17th centuries. (in particular, in the inventories of the city of Serpukhov in 1552 and 1620). “Only the church in honor of St. Nicholas the Wonderworker in 1649 was already made of stone, which is why they began to call it St. Nicholas the White... It was the first stone church in the city and in the suburb, a second similar church was built in the village in honor of the Myrrh-bearing wives, then the third stone church became the Trinity Cathedral in 1696,” we read in the History of Serpukhov by P. Simson.

IN It was suggested that architects from Yaroslavl took part in the construction of the first stone church of St. Nicholas the Wonderworker, the predecessor of the current one. It is based on the proximity of the compositional structure of the building, which can be understood from the surviving old drawing, With characteristic features Yaroslavl religious buildings of the 17th century.

IN In 1713, a decree was issued on the construction of a stone church in honor of St. Nicholas. The initiator of the construction was the clerk of the Zemskaya hut of the city of Serpukhov, Mikhail Popov. Already in March 1721, Mikhail Popov writes: “...and now, according to my promise, I built a stone church instead of that dilapidated church and made the top of that church according to the order.” The temple was consecrated that same year.

X The frame was then a quadrangle crowned with one chapter with an altar extension, which had symmetrically located hipped roofs above the altar and deacon. The building was made of hewn blocks of local limestone. This is where the generally accepted local name of the temple comes from - Nikola Bely. In this form the monument existed until the 30s. XIX centuries

IN In 1831, a project for rebuilding the church building was drawn up. Design drawings with facades and sections signed by Architect Tamansky and Architect Shestakov have been preserved. Since the initials of both architects are absent in the signatures on the drawing sheets, the question arises of identifying these individuals with certain “stone craftsmen” who are known to historians of Russian architecture.

IN collected by M.V. Dyakonov’s materials for the dictionary of architects of the 18th-19th centuries who worked in Moscow and the Moscow region contain data on three Tamanskys and six Shestakovs. However, upon closer acquaintance with the biographies of all of them, it is possible to find out that only two of them could put their signatures under the design drawings preserved in the archive in 1831: Fyodor Mikhailovich Shestakov (born in 1787 and died in 1836; academician of the Imperial Academy of Arts, who designed many religious buildings for Moscow, Kolomna, Dmitrov, etc.) and Ivan Trofimovich Tamansky (born in 1775, died in 1850; student of M.F. Kazakov; worked mainly in Moscow, but often traveled on business to various places Moscow province).

IN In 1835, construction began on the now existing Church of St. Nicholas with the chapels of St. Alexis, Metropolitan of Moscow and St. Kirill of Beloezersky.

IN erected in 1835-1857. The Church of St. Nicholas Bely is an excellent example of the Moscow Empire style. It is built of brick and plastered, and has white stone details in its external decor. A powerful quadrangle with one apse and two side porches carries a large domed rotunda. The four-pillar refectory and multi-tiered bell tower adjacent to the main volume from the west underwent some changes during their construction compared to the project.

P After the revolution of 1917, liturgical life in the Church of St. Nicholas the Bely was not immediately interrupted. The fact that Saint Tikhon visited the temple on June 2, 1924 is noteworthy. It was he, the All-Russian Patriarch, who gave the temple the status Cathedral, after which the importance of Nikola Bely in the city increased. In 1928, during the church schism, the department of the Bishop of Serpukhov, Manuel (Lemeshevsky), who fought against him, was located in St. Nicholas Cathedral. It is also known that after the closure of Vladychny convent The image of the Mother of God “Inexhaustible Chalice”, revered in the city, was located precisely in the Church of St. Nicholas the Bely. However, it too suffered the same fate as many churches in Serpukhov; in 1929 it was closed. According to the stories of old-timers, the icons of the cathedral were demolished on the river. Nara and burned on its ice.

N hostility towards the church, blasphemously cultivated in people new government, made itself felt here too: the bell tower, which had risen majestically over the city since the middle of the 19th century, was partially destroyed, the image of St. Nicholas on the outer wall of the temple was constantly subject to desecration. But as the inhabitants of the houses adjacent to the temple, who observed this desecration, say, every time the next morning the image of the holy miracle worker was renewed, revealing God's power and as if predicting new life desecrated cathedral.

IN In some ways, the cathedral turned out to be happier than other churches. For some time it housed a city pasta factory, which may have saved it from final destruction. During the war, laundries were set up here. IN lately before the opening, the temple premises were used by the headquarters civil defense under chem. warehouse, which was placed in the cathedral at the insistence of the chairman of the city Executive Committee S. N. Kudryakov with the main goal - to avoid the demolition of the temple, and there were such proposals!

IN eve of the 1000th anniversary of the baptism of Rus' about the Cathedral of St. Nicholas the Bely as the brightest architectural monument they spoke again. Among the plans for using the temple, the possibility of turning it into a concert hall was considered. But by the grace of God in 1995 it was returned to the believers as a courtyard of the Vysotsky Monastery, and since 1998 - a parish church. In 1995, during his stay His Holiness Patriarch Moscow and All Rus' Alexy II in Serpukhov, the City Administration presented the Primate of the Russian Orthodox Church keys to the temple. In 1999, bells were purchased with funds from benefactors, the city administration and citizens. The bell, weighing 1380 kg, has four icon-stamps: the Savior, the Mother of God, St. Nicholas the Wonderworker and the image of the heavenly patron of the Administrator of the Moscow Diocese, His Eminence Juvenalius, Metropolitan of Krutitsky and Kolomna - St. Juvenalius, Patriarch of Jerusalem. A 300-pound gospel message sounds in the restored bell tower.

WITH In 2002, the Stromalians company, part of the SU-155 Group of Companies, began to restore the Cathedral. In 2003, a native of the city of Serpukhov, benefactor Mikhail Balakin, donated a bell weighing 5 tons to the temple, cast especially for the Serpukhov Cathedral by Yaroslavl craftsmen.

Z A recent years In the Cathedral of St. Nicholas the Bely, in addition to the main altar, four more side altars were restored and equipped: in the name of St. Alexy of Moscow, St. Kirill of Beloezersk, the new martyrs and confessors of Serpukhov and the icon of the Mother of God “Help to Childbirth.” Much has been done to improve the temple grounds. At night, St. Nicholas the Bely Cathedral seems to be bathed in light flowing along the walls and windows, and like a lit candle it shines throughout the city.

ABOUT The interior painting of the cathedral is worthy of special attention. The dome vault depicts the entire earthly history, starting from the eternal advice of the Holy Trinity on the creation of the world, the Old Testament patriarchs and prophets, teachers of the Church, to Russian saints and martyrs. Sunlight illuminates the temple, passing between the images of the holy apostles, recalling the true Sun - Jesus Christ. Among the icons of the Savior and His Most Pure Mother, there are a host of Russian saints: saints and noble princes, warriors and monks and, of course, St. Nicholas the Wonderworker in a hagiographic depiction of his miracles. Temple painting is the bible in colors. The eternal book leading to salvation is revealed to believers in the Serpukhov Cathedral.

IN The majestic royal doors of the main altar are crowned with an arched canopy on which icons of Holy Week are located: Palm Sunday, the betrayal of Judas, the unjust trial of the worldly ruler, crucifixion, burial and, finally, the Holy Resurrection.

IN In memory of the six new martyrs - residents of Serpukhov, one of the chapels was consecrated in the cathedral. But not only painting and architecture were revived in the Cathedral of St. Nicholas Bely: full-fledged parish life was also restored here. Today the cathedral has a public library and two Sunday schools: for children and for adults. The clergy of the cathedral takes care of the Serpukhov Military Institute, a pre-trial detention center and an orphanage and boarding school, pedagogical and humanitarian colleges...

IN The cathedral contains the miraculous image of the Mother of God “Help to Childbirth”, before which prayers are performed with an akathist compiled by the rector of the cathedral, Archpriest Vladimir Andreev, as well as locally revered images of St. Nicholas the Wonderworker, the Great Martyr Panteleimon, the Martyr Bonifatius, the new martyrs and confessors of Serpukhov.

Another prayer in labor to Jesus

This prayer is non-canonical, most likely composed by the Orthodox themselves or one of the priests, but it clearly contains hidden code, so it's worth using it:

Lord Jesus Christ, Son of God, prayer for the sake of your Most Pure Mother. Hear me, Your unworthy daughter (mother’s name). Lord, in Thy merciful power are our children, Thy children (the name of the children), have mercy and save them for Thy name’s sake. Lord, guide them on the true path of Your commandments and enlighten their minds with Your light of Christ for the fulfillment of the soul and the healing of the body.

Lord bless them at home, on the road, on the road, and in every place of dominion. Lord, save them under Your holy roof from a flying bullet, arrow, poison, sword, fire, flood, from a deadly plague and from a vain death. Lord, protect them from all visible and invisible enemies, from all kinds of troubles, evils and misfortunes. Lord, heal from each and every disease, cleanse them from all filth and ease their mental suffering and sorrow. Lord, grant them the grace of Your Holy Spirit for many years of life in health and chastity, in all piety, love, peace with the people around them, near and far. The most beautiful, wise, wonderful Virgin, St. Great Martyr Catherine! All youths, young women and babies,
Baptized and nameless and carried in the womb.
Cover them with the robe of Your motherhood,
Keep them in the fear of God and in obedience to your parents,
Pray to my Lord and Your Son,
May He grant them what is useful for their salvation.
I entrust them to your maternal care,
For you are the Divine Protection of your servants.
Mother of God, lead me into the image of Your heavenly motherhood.
Heal the mental and physical wounds of my children (names),
Inflicted by my sins.
I entrust my child entirely to my Lord Jesus Christ and Yours,
Most pure, heavenly protection.
Amen!

Preparations for the birth of a child are underway different directions: preparing the mother’s body (swimming pool, walks, osteopath, examinations, etc.), choosing a doctor or obstetrician, buying insurance, home renovation, buying furniture, strollers, clothes and the first first aid kit for the baby. Sometimes this bustle allows you to escape from the exciting thoughts about the approaching day of birth. But sometimes the anxiety is such that neither conversations with loved ones nor a session with a psychologist help a woman. In such cases, even women who are not very religious remember prayer.

Believers men and women say prayers for a successful and as soon as possible conception, while carrying a baby - to preserve the child and for his health, and of course, during the process of giving birth to a baby. Reading a prayer gives peace, and its power helps in the most difficult hours and minutes. After all, everyone knows that panic and a bad mood are the first things that hinder a woman during the birth process. , following the advice of the midwife, positive attitude and the words of deep, sincere prayer are the key to a successful and easy birth!

Spiritual preparation for the birth of a child

Just a few centuries ago, a woman relied mainly on God for a successful birth, and only then on her own strength. Before starting obstetrics, prayers and midwives read. And, of course, all relatives and friends prayed for a quick and successful progress in the red corner of the house. Today, with the development of medicine, people mainly rely on doctors, and only in critical cases do they resort to prayer. However, there are many known cases where prayers literally worked miracles during childbirth, and you can find many such stories on the Internet. Nowadays it is not forbidden to give birth with manicure and even makeup, wedding ring, so be sure to wear a consecrated cross around your neck throughout your pregnancy and do not take it off even in the delivery room.

Ask your loved ones to read prayers for you and your baby. Prepare prayer books in advance with bookmarks on the necessary pages or print out the texts of the prayers. Relatives do not have to be in church at the time of birth; they can sincerely and strongly read a prayer and turn to the Lord anywhere.

Which saints to pray to during childbirth

Deciding to ask for help higher powers, we wonder which Saint to turn to during childbirth. The first image that comes to mind even for a non-deeply Orthodox believer is, of course, the Mother of God. You can bow your head and even kneel at the icon of the Mother of God:

- “Assistant during childbirth”

— “Feodorovskaya”,

- "Baby Leap"

- “Quick to Hear.”

- "Healer"

And this is not an exhaustive list, because the Orthodox really have many miraculous icons. The main thing that remains is not which icon to bow to (“stronger” or “weaker” icon), but the sincerity of the prayer. Close people should also pray for the mother and baby. Parents, friends and relatives can order a prayer service at the church. It is believed that due to her purity and holiness, the Blessed Virgin Mary gave birth to the Son of God Jesus Christ painlessly. However, having experienced earthly difficulties, she understands the pain of each of the people. You can also turn for help to the Holy Great Martyr Catherine, Xenia of St. Petersburg or Anastasia the Pattern Maker. In case of difficult childbirth, they turn to the parents of the Most Holy Theotokos - Joachim and Anna, or to the parents of John the Baptist - Zechariah and Elizabeth. According to biblical stories, both of these couples were barren until they were very old, but they did not lose faith in the Lord, and “through their faith” God gave them the joy of parenthood.

Orthodox Prayers

Below we present the texts of several prayers. Of course, you can turn to the Lord during childbirth in your own words, but the syllable of prayer has a special power and rhythm. It makes sense to learn prayers in advance so that they flow without thinking (during childbirth, it is harmful to “connect the brain,” i.e., to be distracted by logic problems and thoughts, because this blocks the production of necessary hormones that help facilitate the process).

You can print out the text of the prayer you like, or you can buy a compact prayer book at the church store - it will come in handy more than once in various everyday situations.

Prayer to the Mother of God

Prayer to the Lord Jesus Christ

“Our Father God and Lord Jesus Christ, who from the beginning of the world created man, who protects and protects him every day, may all glory, honor and praise be to You. To You, the only Most High, All-Wise God, I, Your servant, turn. I praise You for the fact that You created man and did not leave him, did not leave him to die on earth, but take care of him to this day. May Your name be glorified on earth as it is in heaven. Let every knee bow before You, for You are great indeed. You once gave a commandment that we should be fruitful and multiply and fill this earth. So have mercy on me now, Your servant, who is preparing to give birth according to Your will and commandment. Forgive me my sins, committed by me voluntarily and involuntarily, pour out Your grace on me. In the name of Your sinless Son Jesus Christ, I pray, may my pregnancy proceed successfully, may my childbirth be painless, and may your right hand protect me. Bless my child too, who will be born to my joy. Save him from illness, send Your angels to protect him throughout his life. I believe, Lord, that you will help me, protect me from evil and misfortune. May all glory, honor and worship be to you, great and glorious God. My prayer was in the name of Jesus Christ, amen!”

Let us repeat that it is not necessary to read these specific prayers for a successful birth, standing strictly in front of the designated icon. Repeat “Our Father” or “Creed”, pray in your own words. In the church, venerate the relics of the Saint. God will definitely hear you and help you! Having received your precious baby in your arms, do not forget to mentally thank the Mother of God and the Lord for the happiness and help given to you. Read a prayer over the newly born baby (according to Eastern traditions, the child's father reads excerpts from the Koran over the newborn). Holding the baby, sign the cross over you. Let your family and friends come to the temple and light a candle to the Saint who helped in such a difficult and happy hour!)

Happy and easy birth! God help you!

Pregnancy and the birth of a child are not only the most significant and joyful days in the life of every family, but it is also the great sacrament of “the entry of the soul into this world,” and this is also the time when God is closest to young parents.

PREGNANCY IS SPRING IN THE LIFE OF EVERY FAMILY

Pregnancy is a great miracle of change, I would compare it to spring, when everything changes right before our eyes, and every new day brings new colors and light of life to this world. During pregnancy, everything changes for the expectant mother - her body, tastes, character change, and her spiritual needs also change.

The little “angel” is already living his life in his mother’s tummy, and it is at this time future baby He is tightly connected – in body with his mother, and in soul with God. This higher connection through the fetus is spiritually visible: both to others from the outside and to the mother herself. That is why many women, even those far from religion, come to church during pregnancy, realizing the importance of spiritual life and the fact that everything in this world depends on the Will and Grace of God. It also happens that during pregnancy expectant mother says the first prayer in his life.

THE IMPORTANCE OF PRAYERS DURING PREGNANCY

Prayer is communication with God. During prayer, we spiritually come into contact with the Creator, and He always hears us. A lot depends on this “communication”, including how the pregnancy will go and future life child. We must not forget that many prayers result in miracles.

It is imperative to pray for a successful pregnancy and successful birth, and it is better to do this more often. You can pray at home and in church, but it is especially good if future parents order a prayer service for a successful pregnancy and successful birth.

In this case, in addition to the power of home prayer, it also connects powerful force Holy Church.

You can order a prayer service in a church or in a church shop, but you can make it simpler - order prayer services for pregnancy and safe childbirth on the Internet, through a special online service. By the way, recently, you can also light candles there for good health.

PREPARATION FOR CHILDREN

The birth of a child is the main event in the life of every seven. During all nine months of pregnancy, the child and mother are a single organism, but after childbirth, the baby becomes a completely independent member of the family and society. How the birth will proceed largely depends on the actions of the future parents.

Before that important event Parents are actively preparing: they come for consultations with doctors, buy clothes for the baby and hygiene products, and clean the house. This is good, but it is still not enough. You need to prepare for childbirth and spiritually - prayers and prayer services for a successful birth will help you with the power of God's grace.

I also read this prayer, but I found it by chance, before giving birth. And from the first day of conception until the birth itself, I read another prayer, also very strong, thanks to which I carried and gave birth normally.

PRAYERS FOR A SAFE PREGNANCY AND SUCCESSFUL BIRTH

There are many images of the Mother of God, in front of which it is customary to pray for a successful birth: “Feodorovskaya”, “Tikhvinskaya”, “Kazan”, “Helper in Childbirth”.

Prayer to the Feodorovskaya Icon of the Mother of God

Miraculous icon revered as the patroness of brides, family well-being, the birth of children in childless couples, helping with difficult childbirth. The Fedorovskaya Icon of the Mother of God is one of the shrines of the Romanov family. Tradition attributes authorship to the Evangelist Luke

PRAYER

With the coming of Your venerable icon, O Lady of God, the God-protected city of Kostroma, rejoicing today, like ancient Israel to the ark of the covenant, flows to the image of Your face and our God incarnate from You, and through Your maternal intercession You may ever intercede for all who seek peace under the shadow of Your shelter. and great mercy.

Prayer to the Mother of God in honor of Her icons “Helper to wives to give birth to children” and “Helper in childbirth”

PRAYER

Oh, Most Holy Lady Lady Theotokos, who never leaves us in earthly life!

To whom will I offer prayers, to whom will I bring tears and sighs, if not to You, Comfort to all the faithful! With fear, faith, love, Mother of the Belly, I pray: May the Lord enlighten Orthodox people to salvation, may He allow us to give birth to children for You and Your Son to please You, may He keep us in the purity of humility, in the hope of salvation in Christ, and grant us all, in the veils of Thy grace, earthly consolation.

Keep us under the canopy of Thy mercy, Most Pure One, help those who pray for childbirth, turn away the slander of evil freedom, grave troubles, misfortunes and deaths. Grant us grace-filled insight, a spirit of contrition for sins, grant us to see all the height and purity of Christ’s teaching given to us; protect us from disastrous alienation. May we all, who gratefully sing of Your greatness, be worthy of Heavenly peace and there with Your beloved, with all the saints, let us glorify the One God in the Trinity: the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit, now and ever, and unto the ages of ages. Amen.

PATRON SAINTS OF MARRIAGE AND PRAYERS TO THEM

There are also great saints who are considered patrons of marriage and helpers during childbirth: St. right Elizabeth and St. the prophet Zechariah, the holy saints Peter and Fevronia, St. Luke of Voino-Yasenetsky, St. Nicholas of Myra and many other saints who fervently pray for us before the Lord.

Prayer to the Holy Prophet Zechariah and Elizabeth

PRAYER

Oh, holy saints of God, prophet Zechariah and righteous Elizabeth!

Having fought a good fight on earth, we have naturally received in heaven the crown of righteousness, which the Lord has prepared for all who love Him. In the same way, looking at your holy image, we rejoice at the glorious end of your life and honor your holy memory.

You, standing before the Throne of God, accept our prayers and bring them to the All-Merciful God, to forgive us every sin and help us against the wiles of the devil, so that, having been delivered from sorrows, illnesses, troubles and misfortunes and all evil, we will live piously and righteously in the present We will be worthy, through your intercession, even though we are unworthy, to see good on the land of the living, glorifying the One in His saints, the glorified God, the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit, now and forever. Amen.

It would be very correct to order a prayer service for a safe birth, and also to touch the holy icons. The prayer service can be ordered either one-time or for a certain period, and in this case, at each service, according to the schedule of services, prayers will be read for the young mother

Before giving birth (I’m a week away), after the end of the service (it would be good if it was a Sunday liturgy, you should confess before it and receive communion at it - this is the best blessing from the Lord), and then order a prayer service (it’s like a short service, a prayer for you, your family with the priest as required) of the Fedorov Mother of God (assistant in childbirth) - or tell the priest so for a successful delivery. After it, the priest will bless you and go give birth with God.

Anna, young mother

All these preparations will undoubtedly not go unnoticed by God, and you and your entire family will receive the Highest blessing, including a successful birth.
