Psychological test of the figure in a certain order. The art of managing people: Practical recommendations

Psychogeometric test

Take a look at the following figures:

Choose the one about which you can say: “This is me!” Try to feel your form. If you are experiencing great difficulty, choose from the figures the one that first attracted you.

Write down its name under number 1.

Now rank the remaining four shapes in order of your preference (write down their names under the corresponding numbers).

So, the most difficult stage is over.

Whatever figure you place first is your basic figure, or subjective form. It makes it possible to determine your main, dominant character traits and behavioral characteristics.

The remaining four figures are unique modulators that can color the leading melody of your behavior.

The last figure indicates the human form that will be most difficult for you to interact with.

However, it may turn out that not a single figure suits you completely. Then you can be described as a combination of two or even three forms.

Brief psychological characteristics of the corresponding personality forms

SQUARE

If your main figure turns out to be a square, then you are a tireless worker. Hard work, diligence, the need to complete the work started, perseverance to achieve the completion of the work - these are the main qualities of true Squares. Endurance, patience and methodicality usually make Kvadrat a highly qualified specialist in his field. This is also facilitated by the insatiable need for information. All the information they have is systematized and organized. The square is capable of giving out necessary information instantly. Therefore, Squares are deservedly known as erudites, at least in their field.

If you have chosen a square for yourself - a linear figure, then most likely you are a “left-hemisphere” thinker, that is, those who process data in a sequential format: a-b-c-d... They are more likely to “ calculate the result” than guess about it. They are extremely attentive to details, details, and love established order once and for all. Their ideal is a planned, predictable life, and they do not like changing the usual course of events. They constantly “order” and organize people and things around them.

All these qualities contribute to the fact that Squares can become good specialists - technicians, excellent administrators, but are rarely good managers. Excessive predilection for details, the need for clarifying information for decision-making deprives the Square of efficiency. Accuracy, adherence to rules, etc. can develop to a paralyzing extreme. In addition, rationality, emotional dryness, conservatism in assessments prevent Squares from quickly establishing contacts with by different persons. Squares do not work effectively in an amorphous situation.

TRIANGLE
This shape symbolizes leadership, and many Triangles feel their purpose in this. The most characteristic feature true Triangle - the ability to concentrate on main goal. They are energetic strong personalities. In the Luscher test they often prefer green color and draw a Christmas tree when asked to draw a tree. Triangles, like their cousins Squares, are linear shapes and tend to also be left-brain thinkers, capable of analyzing situations deeply and quickly. However, in contrast to Squares, who are detail-oriented, Triangles focus on the essentials, the essence of the problem. Their strong pragmatic orientation guides their mental analysis and limits it to the search for a solution to a problem that is effective under given conditions.

Triangle is very confident man who wants to be right about everything! The need to be right and the need to manage the state of affairs, to decide not only for oneself, but also, if possible, for others, makes the Triangle a person who is constantly competing, competing with others. Triangles have great difficulty admitting their mistakes! We can say that they see what they want to see, do not like to change their decisions, are often categorical, and do not recognize objections. Fortunately (for them and those around them), Triangles quickly and successfully learn (absorb useful information like a sponge), however, only that which corresponds to their pragmatic orientation contributes (from their point of view) to achieving the main goal.

Triangles are ambitious. If it is a matter of honor for Square to achieve highest quality work being performed, then the Triangle strives to achieve a high position, to acquire high status, in other words - to make a career. Triangles make excellent managers. The main negative quality of Triangles: strong egocentrism, focus on oneself. On the way to the heights of power, they do not show particular scrupulousness regarding moral standards. Triangles make everything and everyone revolve around them... Maybe without them, life would lose its edge.

RECTANGLE

This figure symbolizes a state of transition and change. This is a temporary form of personality that the other four relatively stable figures can “wear” at certain periods of life. These are people who are not satisfied with the lifestyle that they lead now, and therefore are busy searching better position. The reasons for the “rectangular” state can be very different, but they have one thing in common - the significance of the changes for a certain person.

The main mental state of Rectangles is a more or less conscious state of confusion, confusion in problems and uncertainty about themselves in life. this moment time. Most character traits- inconsistency and unpredictability of actions during transition period. They usually have low self-esteem. They strive to become better at something, looking for new methods of work and lifestyles. Rapid, abrupt and unpredictable changes in the behavior of the Rectangle usually confuse and alarm other people, and they may consciously avoid contacts with the “person without a core”.

For rectangles, communication with other people is simply necessary, and this is another difficulty of the transition period. However, the Rectangle also has positive qualities that attract others to it: curiosity, inquisitiveness, keen interest in everything that happens and... courage! During this period, they are open to new ideas, values, ways of thinking and living, and easily learn everything new. Is it true, reverse side This is due to excessive gullibility and suggestibility. Therefore, Rectangles are easy to manipulate. "Rectangularity" is just a stage. She will pass!

CIRCLE

The circle is a mythological symbol of harmony. Anyone who confidently chooses it is sincerely interested primarily in good interpersonal relationships. The highest value for the Circle is people. The circle is the most benevolent of the five shapes. It most often serves as the “glue” that holds both the work team and the family together, that is, it stabilizes the group. Circles are the best communicators primarily because they are the best listeners. They have high sensitivity and developed empathy - the ability to empathize. Circles perfectly “read” people and in one minute are able to recognize a pretender, a deceiver.

Circles “cheer” for their team and are popular among work colleagues. However, they tend to be weak managers and business leaders. First, Circles are people-oriented rather than action-oriented. In an attempt to maintain peace, they sometimes avoid taking a “firm” stand and making unpopular decisions. There is nothing more difficult for the Circle than to enter into interpersonal conflict. They try to avoid it at all costs. Sometimes - to the detriment of the cause. Secondly, Circles are generally not distinguished by decisiveness; they often cannot present themselves properly. Triangles tend to easily take over them. However, the Circles are not too concerned about who holds the power. In one area, the Circles show enviable firmness - when it comes to issues of morality or violation of justice.

The circle is a non-linear shape, and those who confidently identify with the circle are more likely to be “right-brain” thinkers.

“Right-brain” thinking is more imaginative, intuitive, emotionally charged, more integrative than analytical. Therefore, the processing of information in the Circles is not carried out in a sequential format, but rather in a mosaic manner, in breakthroughs with the omission of individual links. This does not mean that Krug is at odds with logic. It’s just that formalism doesn’t get priority in their decision. life problems. The main features in their thinking are an orientation towards the subjective factors of the problem (values, assessments, feelings, etc.) and the desire to find commonality even in opposing points of view.

We can say that Krug is a born psychologist. However, he is often a weak organizer - he lacks the “left-hemisphere” skills of his “linear brothers” - Triangle and Square.

ZIGZAG

This figure symbolizes creativity, creativity, if only because it is the most unique of the five figures and the only open figure. If you have firmly chosen the zigzag as your main form, then you are most likely a true “right-brain” thinker, a dissenter.

You, like your closest relative Krug, are only still to a greater extent, characterized by imagery, intuitiveness, integrativeness, and mosaicism. Strict, consistent deduction is not your style. The Zigzag’s thought makes desperate leaps from “a” to “z”, which is why many “left-hemisphere” people find it difficult to understand Zigzags.

“Right-brain” thinking is not fixated on details, therefore, by simplifying the picture of the world in some ways, it allows you to build holistic, harmonious concepts and images, and see beauty. Zigzags usually have a developed aesthetic sense.

The dominant style of Zigzag thinking is most often the synthetic style. Unlike Circles, Zigzags are not at all interested in consensus and achieve synthesis not through concessions, but on the contrary - by sharpening the conflict of ideas and building a new concept in which this conflict is resolved and “removed.” Moreover, using their natural wit, they can be very sarcastic, “opening the eyes” of others.

Zigzags simply cannot work in well-structured situations. They are irritated by clear vertical and horizontal connections, strictly fixed responsibilities and permanent ways work. In their work they require independence from others and high level stimulation in the workplace. Then the Zigzag “comes to life” and begins to fulfill its main purpose - to generate new ideas and methods of work.

Psychogeometry is a system of personality analysis that allows one to determine a person’s type, characterizes personal qualities and behavioral characteristics, and makes it possible to draw up a scenario for a person’s behavior in typical situations.

Psychogeometry as a system developed in the USA, the author is Susan Dellinger, a specialist in socio-psychological training of management personnel. According to the authors of the technique, the personality form of the person you are interested in can be determined simply by observing his behavior.

Diagnostic accuracy is up to 85%.

Instructions

Look carefully at the five shapes: square, triangle, rectangle, circle, zigzag.

Choose from them the one in relation to which you can say: this is me!

Try to feel your form. If you have difficulty, choose the one of the figures that first attracted you. Write it down as number 1.

Now rank the remaining figures in order of preference and write down their names under the corresponding numbers. The figure that comes first makes it possible to determine your dominant character traits and behavioral characteristics. The remaining figures are unique modulators that can give different shades to behavior. The last figure indicates the shape of a person, interaction with whom will present certain difficulties for you.

However, it may turn out that none of the figures suits you completely. Then you can be described by a combination of two or even three forms. The diagnostic accuracy is 85%.

Square

Basic psychological properties: Organized, attention to detail, hardworking, rational, prudent, pedantic, overly cautious, erudite, tenacious, persistent, conservative, delaying decisions, stingy, patient, thrifty. If your main shape turns out to be Square, then you are a tireless worker! Hard work, diligence, which makes it possible to achieve the completion of work - this is what, above all, true Squares are famous for. Endurance, patience and methodicality usually make Kvadrat a highly qualified specialist in his field. This is also facilitated by the insatiable need for information. Squares are collectors of all kinds of data. All information is systematized and organized. Therefore, Squares are deservedly known as erudites, at least in their field.

Mental analysis - strong point Square. If you have firmly chosen a Square for yourself - a linear figure, then most likely you are a “left-hemisphere” thinker, i.e. to those who process data, in the language of computer science, in a sequential format: a-b-c-d, etc. Squares calculate the result rather than guess it. Squares are extremely attentive to details and details.

Squares love established order once and for all. The ideal of the Square is a planned, predictable life, and he does not like surprises and changes in the usual course of events. He constantly arranges and organizes people and things around him. The style of clothing is conservative, with calm colors, and is focused more on convenience than on style and fashion.

All these qualities contribute to the fact that Squares can become excellent administrators and performers, but they are rarely good stewards and managers. Excessive predilection for details, the need for additional, clarifying information to make a decision deprives the Square of efficiency. Neatness, order, adherence to rules and decorum can lead to delays in making a decision.

Squares can clearly express their ideas, but are not good speakers who can captivate an audience due to their passion for detail and emotional dryness, which makes speech dull and monotonous.

In addition, rationality, emotional dryness and coldness prevent Squares from quickly establishing contacts with different people, and they tend to shift responsibility for interpersonal relationships to others. The square does not work effectively in an amorphous situation. Squares have a high degree of anxiety.

People of this type can be recommended to choose the tactic of “investing for the long term”, and if they decide to make transactions every day, they should develop their own trading tactics, draw up a clear plan for working within the day and strictly follow it, without giving in to emotions.

Triangle

Basic psychological characteristics: leader, leading, selfish, decisive, goal-oriented, categorical, impatient, competitive, winning-oriented, arrogant, self-confident, ambitious, energetic.
This shape symbolizes leadership, and many Triangles feel their purpose in this. The most characteristic feature of a true Triangle is the ability to concentrate on the main goal. Triangles are energetic, unstoppable, strong personalities who set clear goals and, as a rule, achieve them!

They, like their relatives, Squares, belong to linear forms and tend to also be “left-brain” thinkers, capable of deeply and quickly analyzing a situation. However, in contrast to Squares, who are detail-oriented, Triangles focus on the essentials, the essence of the problem. Their strong pragmatic orientation guides their mental analysis and limits it to the search for a solution to a problem that is effective under given conditions.

Triangle is a very confident person who wants to be right in everything. The strong need to be right and control the state of affairs, to decide not only for oneself, but also, if possible, for others, makes the Triangle a person who is constantly competing, competing with others. The dominant attitude in any business is the attitude towards victory, gain, success. He often takes risks, is impatient and intolerant of those who hesitate in making decisions. They have a low level of anxiety.

Triangles really do not like to be wrong and have great difficulty admitting their mistakes. We can say that they see what they want to see, therefore they do not like to change their decisions, they are often categorical, do not recognize objections and in most cases will act in their own way. However, they are very successful in learning what corresponds to their pragmatic orientation, contributes to the achievement of main goals, and absorbs useful information like a sponge.

The appearance of Triangles is the image of a successful person, clothes are fashionable or expensive. Triangles are very health conscious. Triangle is a good speaker, the voice is loud, low, fast pace speech and clear pronunciation.

Triangles are ambitious. If a matter of honor for a Square is to achieve the highest quality of work performed, then a Triangle strives to achieve a high position, acquire a high status, in other words, to make a career. Before getting down to business or making a decision, the Triangle consciously or unconsciously asks itself the question: “What will I get from this?” Triangles make excellent high-level managers. They are great at presenting senior management importance own work and the work of their subordinates, they sense a profitable business a mile away and in the fight for it they can “push heads” against their opponents. The main negative quality of the “triangular” shape: strong egocentrism, focus on oneself, they are more likely to be introverts. Triangles on the way to the heights of power do not show particular scrupulousness regarding moral standards and can go to their goal over the heads of others. Triangles make everything and everyone revolve around them; without them, life would lose its edge.

People of this type can work as both a trader and an investor, depending on the goal setting.

Rectangle

Main psychological characteristics: State of confusion at a given moment in time, unpredictability, desire to find oneself, courage, curiosity, excessive suggestibility.

It is a symbol of a state of transition and change. This is a temporary form of personality that can be worn by the other four relatively stable figures at certain periods of life. These are people who are not satisfied with the lifestyle that they lead now, and therefore are busy looking for a better position. The reasons for the rectangular state can be very different, but they have one thing in common - the significance of the changes for a particular person.

The main mental state of the Rectangle is a more or less conscious state of confusion, confusion in problems and uncertainty about oneself at a given time.

The most characteristic features of Rectangles are inconsistency and unpredictability of actions during the transition period. Rectangles can vary greatly from day to day and even within a single day! They tend to have low self-esteem, strive to become better at something, and look for new methods of work and lifestyle. If you look closely at the behavior of the Rectangle, you will notice that throughout the entire period he uses clothes of other shapes: “triangular”, “round”, etc. Lightning-fast, abrupt and unpredictable changes in behavior. Rectangles tend to confuse and alarm other people, and they may deliberately avoid contact with a person without a core. For rectangles, communication with other people is simply necessary, and this is another difficulty of the transition period.

Nevertheless, like all people, Rectangles exhibit positive qualities that attract others to them. This. First of all - curiosity, inquisitiveness, keen interest in everything that happens and courage. Rectangles are trying to do something that has never been done before; asking questions they never had the courage to ask before. During this period, they are open to new ideas, values, ways of thinking and living, and easily learn everything new. True, the flip side of this is excessive gullibility, suggestibility, and naivety. Therefore, Rectangles are easy to manipulate. "Rectangularity" is just a stage. She will pass!

Circle

This is a mythological symbol of harmony. Anyone who confidently chooses it is sincerely interested in good interpersonal relationships. The highest value for the Circle is people and their well-being. The circle is the most benevolent of the five shapes. It most often serves as the glue that holds both the work team and the family together, that is, it stabilizes the group.

Circles are the best communicators among the five forms, primarily because they are the best listeners, they have high sensitivity, developed empathy - the ability to empathize, sympathize, and respond emotionally to the experiences of another person. The circle feels other people's joy and feels other people's pain as its own. Circles support their team and are popular among work colleagues. However, they tend to be weak managers and business leaders.

Circles, due to their focus on people rather than business, try to please everyone. They try to maintain peace and for this reason they sometimes avoid taking a strong position and making unpopular decisions. For the Circle, there is nothing more difficult than entering into an interpersonal conflict. A circle is happy when everyone gets along with each other. Therefore, when the Circle has a conflict with someone, it is most likely that the Circle will be the first to give in.

The circles are not distinguished by their determination, are weak in political games and often cannot present themselves and their team properly. All this leads to the fact that Circles are often dominated by stronger personalities, for example, Triangles. However, in one thing the Circles show enviable firmness - in matters of morality or violation of justice. They are often fatalists.

The Circle is a non-linear shape, and those who confidently identify with the Circle are more likely to be “right-brain” thinkers. Right-hemisphere thinking is more imaginative and intuitive. Therefore, the processing of information in the Circles is carried out not in a sequential format, but with the skipping of individual links. This does not mean that the Circles are at odds with logic, they simply do not give priority to formalisms in solving life problems. The main features of their thinking style are their focus on the subjective factors of the problem (values, assessments, feelings, etc.) and the desire to find commonality even in opposing points of view. We can say that Krug is a born psychologist. However, in order to become the head of a serious, large business, the Circle lacks the “left-hemisphere” organizational skills of its linear brothers - the Triangle and the Square.

Zigzag

This figure symbolizes creativity, creativity, if only because it is the most unique of the five figures and the only open figure. If you have firmly chosen Zigzag as the main form, then you are most likely a true “right-brain” thinker, a dissenter, since linear forms outnumber you. So, like your closest relative - the Circle, only to an even greater extent, you are characterized by education, intuitiveness, mosaic. Strict sequential deduction is not your style. Zigzag's thought makes desperate leaps: from a... to... z! Therefore, it is difficult for many linear, “left-hemisphere” people to understand Zigzags.

Combining completely different, dissimilar ideas and creating something new and original on this basis is what Zigzags like. Unlike Circles, Zigzags are not at all interested in consensus and achieve synthesis not through concessions, but on the contrary - by sharpening the conflict of ideas and building a new concept in which this conflict receives its resolution. They are always extroverts. Moreover, using their natural wit, they can be very sarcastic, opening the eyes of others to the possibility of a new solution. Zigzags tend to see the world as constantly changing. For this reason, there is nothing more boring to them than things that never change, a routine, a pattern, rules and regulations, the status quo, or people always agreeing or pretending to agree.

Zigzags simply cannot work productively in well-structured situations. They are irritated by clear vertical and horizontal connections, strictly fixed responsibilities and constant ways of working. They need to have a lot of variety and a high level of stimulation in the workplace. They also want to be independent from others in their work. Then the Zigzag comes to life and begins to fulfill its main purpose - to generate new ideas and methods of work. Zigzags are never satisfied with the way things are currently done or have been done in the past. Zigzags are focused on the future and are more interested in possibility than reality. The world of ideas is as real for them as the world of things is for the basic ones. They spend a considerable part of their lives in this ideal world, which is where such traits as impracticality, unrealism and naivety originate.

Zigzag is the most enthusiastic, most excitable of all five figures. When he has a new and interesting idea, he is ready to tell it to the whole world! Zigzags are tireless preachers of their ideas and are able to motivate everyone around them. However, they lack political spirit: they are unrestrained, very expressive (“cutting the truth in the face”), which, along with their eccentricity, often prevents them from putting their ideas into practice. In addition, they are strong in working out specific details, without which the materialization of an idea is impossible, and they are not too persistent in bringing things to an end, since with the loss of novelty, interest in the idea is also lost.

CIRCLES, ZIGZAGS AND...
OTHER PEOPLE

“Since childhood, I didn’t like ovals, since childhood I drew an angle...”
Pavel Kogan

The first interlocutor is interested:
- Psychogeometry? Is this the science of psycho geometers?
The second one is irritated:
- No! This is the science of psycho geometry!

Question: Which of them is which, from the point of view of psychogeometry?

PSYCHOGEOmetry: EVERYTHING GENIUS IS SIMPLE

- Why did this person act this way and not otherwise?
- How can I negotiate with him?
- What should I expect from him?

We ask ourselves such questions almost every day, but we can’t always find answers to them. Of course, a lot depends on external circumstances, but in the same situations people often act completely differently. Why? The answer is simple - because they are different! But which ones are different? To answer this question, humanity has created a number of systems that classify people according to various criteria. In scientific language these systems are called personality typology.

One of the most successful systems of typology and diagnosis of human personality was proposed by an American psychologist Susan Dellinger. She called her system “Psychogeometry” because, in accordance with this technique, all people are divided into five groups, each of which is designated by one of five geometric shapes: square, triangle, circle, zigzag, rectangle.

If you want to find out your personality type, then choose from these five figures the one that you like best - the figure in relation to which you can say: “That’s me!” Draw it, and then do the same with the remaining shapes. As a result, you will get your psychological “portrait”.

The first figure is the one that “influences” you the most. The influence of the second, third and fourth is less, but “deeper”. And the fifth shows which qualities are less developed in you, and, accordingly, what type of people will be most difficult for you to communicate with.

CHARACTERISTICS OF STRONG
PSYCHOGEOMETRIC TYPES

"SQUARE" - Stability

Life values: traditions, stability, security, reliability, past.
Roles: Conservative. Reliability and support. Pedant. Keeper of traditions. Executor.
"Strong" qualities: organization, discipline, diligence, punctuality, accuracy, cleanliness, law-abidingness, hard work, patience, perseverance, perseverance, true to word, honesty, caution, prudence, rationality, frugality, practicality.
"Weak" qualities: inertia, inflexibility, inertia, pedantry, dryness, one-sidedness, indecisiveness, stubbornness, conservatism, resistance to new things, fear of risk, poor imagination, isolation, stinginess, pettiness, tendency towards bureaucracy. Appearance: neat, strict, dim, restrained, conservative, “as expected.”
Workplace: Every thing is in its place, everything is “parallel and perpendicular.”
Speech: slow, monotonous, logical, a lot of reliance on authorities and “the way it’s done.”
Bodily manifestations: The poses are tense, usually symmetrical. The gait is slow, ponderous, “solid.” Gestures are “not rich”, but accurate. Facial expressions are practically absent - the square is stingy in expressions of feelings.
Suitable professions. Accountant, analyst, deputy director for general or economic issues, local police inspector, leader in a bureaucratic organization, “tough” secretary.
How to communicate with a square. Listen to the square to the end, under no circumstances interrupt if you are not his boss. To be in the eyes of the square more competent, more status than him. Know all instructions, laws, precedents. It is best to justify your position with facts and figures; It's very good to use tables. Give compliments - frank enough for the square to understand them (he is a little slow-witted), but neat, without familiarity and risky passages. Introduce innovations in small portions. Refrain from emotional displays.

TRIANGLE - Determination

Life values: power, leadership, career, status, victory, future.
Roles: Leader. Punchy. Warrior. Prophet. Hero.
"Strong" qualities: rationality, efficiency, leadership skills, energy, charisma, high performance, initiative, courage, determination, independence of judgment.
"Weak" qualities: authority, self-confidence, selfishness, categoricalness, harshness, causticity, intolerance of dissent, peremptory (“either my way or not at all”), inhumanity (“will walk over corpses”).
Appearance: depending on the circumstances: if necessary for business, then he is dressed flashily and “status”; if not, then he tends to dress comfortably.
Workplace: everything is highly functional, a lot of office equipment - if funds allow, then expensive, but at the same time reliable and convenient.
Speech: fast, clear, precise, concise, everything is just “to the point”, often “in a raised voice” and using slang and other “informal” vocabulary.
Bodily manifestations: Free “wide” poses. Fast, energetic gait. Confident gestures, often similar to blows. The facial expressions are expressive, but not rich.
Suitable professions. Managers in hierarchical organizations, including senior ones, project leaders, surgeons, “star” psychotherapists, especially hypnotists.
How to communicate with a triangle. Speak only to the point, clearly, confidently, but without “assaults.” Agree, write down the agreement, remember that the triangle interprets all controversial issues in its favor. Motivate with benefits. You can show your power, but at the same time you should be prepared for a “test of strength.” Be prepared on the part of the triangle for blackmail, for deception “for the sake of the interests of the business,” for appropriation of common results.

CIRCLE - Peacefulness

Life values: communication, comfort, general well-being, helping people.
Roles: Peacemaker. Darling. Keeper of comfort. Homebody.
"Strong" qualities: goodwill, gentleness, delicacy, non-conflict, tolerance, sociability, kindness.
"Weak" qualities: passivity, conformism, susceptibility to influence, tendency to compromise, sloppiness, disorganization, unpunctuality, indecisiveness, dependence on the opinions of others.
Appearance: often careless, unfashionable, baggy, the main thing is to be comfortable; soft fabrics and styles predominate in clothing.
Workplace: a cozy mess, sweet pies mixed with business papers, a lot of old things that “would be a pity to throw away.”
Speech: unhurried, peaceful, often inconsistent or “not to the point”, quite emotional, compliments and enthusiastic evaluations are often used.
Bodily manifestations: relaxed posture, smile, head nods in agreement, “assent”, soft gait, facial expressions are quite rich, but mostly peaceful.
Suitable professions.“Soft” secretary, HR manager, teacher, therapist, family psychologist, priest.
How to communicate with the circle. Gently but persistently return to the essence of the matter, while under no circumstances shouting or swearing. Be prepared for the fact that the circle will promise but not deliver (it’s easier for them to agree with you, and then “somehow everything will work out”).

ZIGZAG - Unpredictability

Life values: creativity, novelty, risk, speed, self-expression.
Roles: Lover of shocking. Artist. Extreme. Extremist. Windy type. Heartbreaker.
"Strong" qualities: spontaneity, creativity, pressure, wit, easy-going.
"Weak" qualities: uncontrollability, fickleness, unpredictability, lack of restraint, eccentricity, excitability, individualism, unreliability, recklessness and recklessness.
Appearance: extravagant, demonstrative, fashionable, often sloppy, a penchant for eclecticism, for combining “incongruous” things.
Workplace: a fantastic mess combined with garish decorative design.
Speech: bright, fast, galloping, imaginative, associative, fiery, lots of jokes and witticisms.
Bodily manifestations: frequently changing poses, various movements, animated gestures, rapid, sometimes loose gait, rich lively facial expressions, mannerisms.
Suitable professions. Creative, artist, freelance artist, insurance agent or “percentage” seller.
How to communicate with a zigzag. Motto: “Firmness, goodwill, endless patience.” It is almost impossible to influence the zigzag. Sometimes the trick “by contradiction” works - offer something to the zigzag so that he wants to do the opposite. The main thing in this case is to quickly agree with him. You can attract a zigzag to your side by admiring his ideas, but this still won’t last long. You should always be prepared for sudden changes in decisions and topics of conversation.

RECTANGLE - Instability

Life values: depending on external circumstances.
Roles: Slut. Indecisive. Scapegoat. Jonah. Bungler.
"Strong" qualities: gullibility, openness, sensitivity, curiosity, readiness for change, high learning ability, “childishness,” unambitiousness.
"Weak" qualities: naivety, spinelessness, uncertainty, indecisiveness, unreliability, mental instability, “problematic”.
Appearance: often inadequate to the situation, but at the same time not extravagant, like a zigzag, but largely dependent on “what was found in the wardrobe.”
Workplace: a mixture of order and disorder.
Speech: unsure, unclear, confusing, with long pauses, sudden incomprehensible fluctuations in volume, speed and pitch, “beeping” and “mocking”, answering a question with a question.
Bodily manifestations: strange, stiff postures, clumsy, sudden movements, uncertain gestures, jerky or shuffling gait, running or glassy eyes.
Suitable professions. Since a rectangle is a transitional, often “crisis” figure, it is best to send it on vacation or study for a while. The ideal activity for a rectangle is to study or relax. A rectangle can be a good expert or consultant, but only in those matters where he is a recognized authority.
How to communicate with a rectangle. Understand what role he is currently performing in. Switch it to a state convenient for you. Constantly support and guide with your attention and influence.

RELATIONSHIPS OF SOME FIGURES

"Square - Square." It is possible, but only if the worldviews of both partners completely coincide: rules, traditions, habits.

"Triangle - Triangle." Only if it benefits both of them. And only until one triangle crushed the second. In most cases, triangles are “friends” according to the “two bears in one den” principle.

"Circle - Circle." Everything is nice, but boring and unproductive. Besides, it's such a mess!

"Zigzag - Zigzag." If you hit resonance, if the direction of the “throw” coincides, then the results are fantastic. But usually this doesn't last long. In all other cases, it is a battle for life and death. After which one zigzag lies dead, and the other is tired.

"Rectangle - Rectangle." Only under the supervision of a strong figure (square or triangle).

“Square – Circle”, “Triangle – Circle”. Eternal claims and grievances.

"Square - Zigzag". Only for the purpose of self-development of both of them. And preferably under the guidance of a mature triangle.

"Square - Triangle". Nice "Western" couple (house). The triangle sets the direction, the square provides the rear. A typical example is the “boss secretary”.

"Circle - Zigzag". A good “oriental” pair (yin-yang). The zigzag gives the circle newness and impressions. Circle – provides zigzag warmth and comfort. A typical example is “an artist and his faithful wife.”

"Rectangle - Triangle", "Rectangle - Square". Possible, but labor-intensive. Although very useful for a rectangle.

P.S. The article uses a number of developments from the Center for Humanistic Technologies “Man”.

Psychogeometric test

Look at the five figures shown in the picture. Choose the one about which you can say: “That’s me!” Just don’t engage in any unnecessary speculation. This will get you nowhere. Just try to feel your form. If you are very confused, choose the figure that first attracted you. Remember its name under No. 1. Now look at the remaining four figures in the order of your preference and write down their names under the corresponding numbers. The last figure that you write down under No. 5 will clearly not be your shape, that is, the shape that suits you least.

The first, most difficult stage of the work is completed. Before you is an ordered series of geometric shapes that reflect your subjective preferences. Whichever shape you place first is your basic shape, or subjective shape. It is this that makes it possible to determine your main dominant character traits and behavioral characteristics. The remaining four figures are unique modulators that can color the leading background of your behavior. The strength of their influence decreases with increasing serial number. And if you can probably detect some of the characteristics of the figure in second place in your behavior, then the figure in fifth place makes itself felt when you are clearly not yourself (and, obviously, you don’t like yourself). Another meaning of the last figure is more important for you - it indicates the shape of a person, interaction with whom will present the greatest difficulties for you (you can successfully overcome them with the help of psychogeometry).

Now let’s start deciphering the psychogeometric language.

If most of the qualities listed in the characteristics of your basic form correspond to your real behavior, then your case is the simplest (of course, only in the diagnostic sense). All that remains is to remember your pure shape (square, triangle, circle, zigzag, rectangle) and move on to further study and application of psychogeometry in practice. However, it is possible that you “didn’t find yourself” among the figures presented. This happens to about 15% of those who do psychogeometric test. If you are in this 15%, then there may be several reasons why you chose the “not your” form:

Negative attitude or wary attitude towards testing;

During this period, you are concerned about the discrepancy between what you are and your ideal. So you choose the form you want to be instead of the form you currently are;

You are in an unusual mental state for you, caused by some significant changes in your life (too excited, upset, tired, etc.).

There may be other reasons for the erroneous choice of the main form. But regardless of the reason, do the following. Read the descriptions of all five figures carefully and simply choose the one that best suits your personality and behavior. This will be your main form.

Finally, it may turn out that no single figure suits you completely; rather, you can be described by a combination of two or even three shapes (it’s better to limit yourself to two). In this case, try to decide for yourself which of them is dominant and which is subordinate. Then you can clearly depict your personality form by inscribing the subordinate into the dominant. Moreover, if the dominant form is a zigzag, then its wavy line crosses out the subordinate form; as a subordinate form, the zigzag seems to penetrate into the dominant one, breaking its contour.

Brief psychological characteristics of the main forms of personality

Square. If your main shape turns out to be a square, then you are a tireless worker! Hard work, diligence, the need to complete the work started, perseverance to achieve the completion of the work - this is what true Squares are primarily famous for. Endurance, patience and methodicality usually make Kvadrat a highly qualified specialist in his field. This is also facilitated by the insatiable need for information. Squares are collectors of all kinds of data. And no matter where this collection is stored - in the head or in a special file cabinet, it always contains full order. All information is systematized and organized. And Kvadrat is able to provide the necessary information instantly. Therefore, Squares are deservedly known as erudites, at least in their field.

Mental analysis is the strong point of the Square. If you have firmly chosen a square for yourself - a linear figure, then most likely you are a “left-hemisphere” thinker, i.e. those who process data, in the language of computer science, in a sequential format: a - b - c - d etc . d. Squares “calculate” the result rather than guess about it. They do not miss a single link in the chain of reasoning, and when others do this, they experience difficulty in understanding and, as a result, discomfort. Squares are extremely attentive to details and details. It is Squares who are able to work out (and do this) all the specific details of those grandiose ideas, projects and plans that are often proposed by bearers of other geometric shapes.

Squares love established order once and for all: everything should be in its place and happen in its own time. The ideal of the Square is a planned, predictable life, and he does not like “surprises” and changes in the usual course of events. He constantly “orders”, organizes people and things around him.

All these qualities contribute to the fact that Squares can become (and do become!) excellent administrators and performers, but... alas, they are rarely good stewards and managers. Naturally, the mentioned advantages of the Square peacefully coexist with a number of its weaknesses.

Excessive predilection for details (“can’t see the forest for the trees”) and the need for additional, clarifying information to make a decision deprive the Square of efficiency. Neatness, order, observance of rules and decorum can develop to a paralyzing extreme. And when the time comes to make a decision, especially one associated with risk, with a possible loss of the status quo, Squares, wittingly or unwittingly, delay its adoption, and rationality and emotional dryness and coldness prevent Squares from quickly establishing contacts with different people (often unpleasant). The square operates ineffectively in a disordered situation. However, in well-structured organizations, when deadlines are established, access to information and equipment is defined, clear requirements are formulated and clear instructions for action are given, the Square is superior to all other forms!

Triangle symbolizes leadership, and many Triangles feel their destiny in this: “born to be a leader.” The most characteristic feature of a true Triangle is the ability to concentrate on the main goal. Triangles are energetic, unstoppable, strong personalities who set clear goals and, as a rule, achieve them!

Of course, Triangles always know what their main goal is, because unlike Squares they are very determined people. They, like their relatives - Squares, belong to linear forms and tend to also be “left-brain” thinkers, capable of deeply and quickly analyzing a situation. However, in contrast to Squares, who are detail-oriented, Triangles focus on the main thing, the essence of the problem. Their strong pragmatic orientation guides mental analysis and limits it to the search for an effective (and often spectacular) solution to a problem under given conditions. This orientation saves Trianglers from a detailed analysis of many options in search of the best solution. This makes quite a strong impression on other, less confident people, and they follow the Triangle!

Triangle is a very confident person who wants to be right in everything! The strong need to be right and control the state of affairs, to decide not only for oneself, but also, if possible, for others, makes the Triangle a person who constantly competes with others. The dominant attitude in any business that the Triangle undertakes is an attitude towards winning, winning, success! He often takes risks, is impatient and intolerant of those who hesitate in making a decision.

Triangles really do not like to be wrong and have great difficulty admitting their mistakes, do not like to change their decisions, are often categorical, do not recognize objections and in most cases act in their own way. However, they are very successful in learning what corresponds to their pragmatic orientation, contributes to the achievement of main goals, and absorbs useful information like a sponge.

Triangles are ambitious. If a matter of honor for a Square is to achieve the highest quality of work performed, then the Triangle strives to achieve a high position, acquire a high status, in other words, make a career (and this should not be considered a negative quality of Triangles). Before getting down to business or making a decision, the Triangle consciously or unconsciously asks itself the question: “What will I get from this?” And rest assured: no matter what decision the Triangle makes, it will definitely contain benefits (not always material for the Triangle itself personally).

Triangles make excellent managers at the “highest” level of management. It is to the “heights” that they strive. And one more quality helps them in this - the mastery of “political intrigue”. They are excellent at presenting to higher management the importance of their own work and the work of their subordinates; they can smell a profitable business a mile away and, in the fight for it, they can pit their opponents against each other. And here we should pay attention to, perhaps, the main negative quality of the triangular shape: strong egocentrism, self-focus, which lead to the fact that Triangles on the way to the heights of power do not show particular scrupulousness in relation to moral standards and can go towards their goal, regardless of others. This kind of Machiavellianism, of course, can cause fear and respect based on it on the part of other people, but not their affection and love. However, this more characterizes the “presumptuous” Triangles, which no one stopped in time. But in general, Triangles are very nice, attractive people (otherwise who would follow them?), who make everything and everyone revolve around them and without whom our life would lose its spice.

Rectangle symbolizes a state of transition and change. This is, so to speak, a temporary form of personality that the other four relatively stable figures can “wear” during certain periods of life. The main mental state of the Rectangle is a more or less conscious state of confusion, confusion in problems and uncertainty about oneself at a given time. These are people who are not satisfied with the lifestyle they currently lead and are therefore busy looking for a better position. Perhaps some of you have just experienced a change in professional status (moving to new job, demotion or promotion requiring adaptation); Perhaps someone foresees, anticipates such changes. Some may have experienced changes in their personal lives. In general, the reasons for the rectangular condition can be very different.

The most characteristic features of Rectangles are inconsistency and unpredictability of actions during the transition period. Rectangles can vary greatly from day to day and even within a single day! This happens because they, as a rule, have low self-esteem, strive to become better at something, and are looking for new methods of work and lifestyles. If you look closely at the behavior of the Rectangle, you will notice that throughout the entire period he tries on clothes of other shapes: “triangular”, “round”, etc. Lightning-fast, abrupt and unpredictable changes in the behavior of the Rectangle usually confuse and alarm other people, ions can consciously avoid contacts with a “person without a core.” It’s clear that no one wants to find themselves in a stupid position! For rectangles, communication with other people is simply necessary.

Nevertheless, like all people, Rectangles have positive qualities that attract others to them - curiosity, inquisitiveness, keen interest in everything that happens and... courage! The rectangles are trying to do something they've never done before: asking questions they didn't have the guts to answer before. During this period, they are open to new ideas, values, ways of thinking and living, and easily learn everything new. True, the flip side of this is excessive gullibility, suggestibility, and naivety. Therefore, Rectangles are easy to manipulate, which is what people who are not too scrupulous in matters of morality take advantage of. If you do wear a "rectangular" shape, be careful! And remember that "squareness" is just a stage. It will pass - and you will come out new level personal development, enriched by the experience acquired at this stage.

Circle- is a mythological symbol of harmony. Someone who confidently chooses a circle is genuinely interested in good interpersonal relationships. The highest value for the Circle is people and their well-being. The circle is the most benevolent of the five shapes. It most often serves as the “glue” that holds both the work team and the family together, that is, it stabilizes the group.

Circles are the best communicators among the five shapes and the best listeners (Triangles are also good communicators, but they listen more to themselves than to others). They have high sensitivity and the ability to empathize. Circles feel other people's joy and feel other people's pain as their own. Naturally, people are drawn to Circles. By the way, the Circles perfectly “read” people and in one minute are able to recognize a pretender, a deceiver. Circles “support” their team (or, as they say now, “team”) and are popular among work colleagues. However, they are mostly weak managers and leaders.

Firstly, Circles, due to their focus on people rather than business, try too hard to please everyone. They try to maintain peace and for this purpose sometimes avoid taking a “firm” position and making unpopular decisions, which, however, may turn out to be effective from a business point of view. For the Circle, there is nothing more difficult than entering into an interpersonal conflict. Therefore, when the Circle has a conflict with someone, it is most likely that the Circle will be the first to give in. Making peace with others is a typical “circular” behavior feature. Although this trait brings pleasure to others and makes Krug popular among his colleagues, too frequent concessions can lead to Krug losing self-respect and strengthening self-accusatory tendencies.

Secondly, Circles are not known for their decisiveness. If they have to manage, then they clearly prefer democratic style management and strive to discuss almost any decision with the majority and gain support. As you know, this does not always pay off: you may miss the right moment. In addition, the Circles are weak in “political games” and often cannot present themselves and their “team” properly. All this leads to the fact that Circles are often dominated by stronger individuals, for example, Triangles, who manage to manipulate them. Luckily for them, the Circles don't seem to worry too much about who holds the power. If only everyone was happy and peace reigned all around.

However, in one respect, the Circles show enviable firmness: when it comes to issues of morality or violation of justice, the Circle becomes a passionate defender of people. Here Circles can be quite persuasive when they want to. The fact that they tend to be excellent at solving interpersonal problems is largely due to their special way of thinking.

The circle is a non-linear shape, and those who confidently identify with the circle are more likely to be “right-brain” thinkers. “Right-brain” thinking is more imaginative, intuitive, emotionally charged, more integrative than analytical. Therefore, the processing of information in Circles is not carried out in a sequential format, like in Squares (and Triangles), but rather in a mosaic manner, in breakthroughs, with the omission of individual links, for example: a......d. This does not mean that Krug is at odds with logic. It’s just that formalisms do not receive priority in solving life’s problems. First of all in the field human relations they exhibit a type of “right-brain” thinking, which is also called the “idealistic” style of thinking. The main features of this style are an orientation towards the subjective factors of the problem (values, assessments, feelings, etc.) and the desire to find commonality even in opposing points of view. Psychologists consider an umbrella to be a symbol of an idealistic solution: a solution that embraces all views and is liked by everyone related to it.

We can say that Krug is a born psychologist. However, in order to become the head of a serious, large business, the Circle lacks the “left-hemisphere” organizational skills of its “linear brothers” - Triangle and Square.

Zigzag symbolizes creativity. He is the only open figure of the five. If you have firmly chosen the zigzag as your main shape, then you are most likely a true "right-brain" thinker, a dissenter, since linear shapes outnumber you. By the way, Square and Triangle often don't pay attention to your sign at all! To the psychologist’s question: “Where will you place this figure?” in response you can hear: “Is this also a figure? I thought someone just scribbled on it.” Finally, left-handers are more common among Zigzags than among other forms. And this is additional evidence in favor of the “right hemisphere” of Zigzag.

So, like your closest relative - the Circle, only to an even greater extent, you are characterized by imagery, intuitiveness, integrativeness, and mosaicism. Strict, consistent deduction is not your style. Zigzag's thought makes desperate leaps: from a... to... z! Therefore, many linear, “left-hemisphere” people find it difficult to understand Zigzags. “Right-brain” thinking is not fixated on details (numbers and facts are needed in order to make a leap to a new idea), therefore, by simplifying the picture of the world in some way, it allows you to build holistic, harmonious concepts and images, and see beauty. Zigzags usually have a developed aesthetic sense.

The dominant style of thinking of Zigzag is most often synthetic. The leitmotif of this style is “What if?..” What if you take this idea and this one and combine them together? What will we have as a result? Combining completely different, dissimilar ideas and creating something new and original on this basis is what Zigzags like. Unlike Circles, Zigzags are not at all interested in consensus and achieve synthesis not through concessions, but, on the contrary, by sharpening the conflict of ideas and building a new concept in which this conflict is resolved and “removed.” At the same time, they can be very sarcastic, “opening the eyes of others” to the possibility of a new solution.

They need variety and a high level of stimulation in the workplace. They also want to be independent from others in their work. Then the Zigzag comes to life and begins to fulfill its main purpose - to generate new ideas and methods of work. Zigzags are never satisfied with the way things are currently done or have been done in the past. Nothing annoys Zigzag more than Square’s maxim: “We’ve always done it this way.” Zigzags are focused on the future and are more interested in possibility than reality. The world of ideas is as real for them as the world of things is for others. They spend a considerable part of their lives in this ideal world, which is where their traits such as impracticality, unrealism and naivety originate.

Zigzag is the most enthusiastic, most excitable of all five figures. When he has a new interesting idea, he is ready to tell it to the whole world! Zigzags are tireless preachers of their ideas and are able to motivate everyone around them. However, they lack politics: they are unrestrained, very expressive (“they cut the truth in the face”), which, along with their eccentricity, often prevents them from putting their ideas into practice. In addition, they are not strong in working out specific details (without which the materialization of an idea is impossible) and are not too persistent in bringing things to an end (since with the loss of novelty, interest in the idea is also lost).

And most importantly, other people consider Zigzags sexually attractive! And you yourself are not indifferent (to put it mildly) to this side of life.

Knowing the “keys” of the geometry test will help you learn more not only about yourself, but also about people who have the habit of drawing geometric figures when talking. Look at the proposed figures very carefully. Try to feel them as you feel yourself. Which of the figures is closer to you, dearer? About which of the figures can you say: “That’s definitely me.”

The chosen figure represents you. Now read what your choice says.

And, despite the fact that there are enough psychological geometric tests on the vastness of bookshelves and the Internet, semantic analysis is the most difficult in psychography.

RECTANGLE
