Seeing actor Pablo Echarri on the screen, the girl exclaimed, “This dark-haired one will be mine!” Soon the young actress went to auditions in Buenos Aires.

Sixteen-year-old Natalia was cast in the television series “Unruly Love,” and on the set of this film she met Pablo.

With Pablo Echarri

Soon the lovers began dating, and the press closely followed the relationship between the Uruguayan beauty and the Argentine actor.

Pablo helped Oreiro get comfortable in Buenos Aires, and after several months of dating, Natalia moved in with Echarri.

But six years later one of the most beautiful couples Argentina fell apart. Echarri did not like the rapid success of his beloved, and when Oreiro's ratings exceeded his own, he began to constantly quarrel with the actress.

In 1997, Echarri urgently wanted a family and a child, but Natalya was not ready for such a serious step.

Then the first major scandal between Oreiro and Echarri happened. After some time, they got back together, but with the release of the series “Wild Angel” and Natalia’s decision to become a singer, Echarri left Oreiro again.

Put an end to the relationship erotic photo shoot Natalia for Playboy magazine. Echarri accused his lover of cheating and announced that he was leaving forever.

For a long time after the breakup, the girl was depressed. After Natalia and Pablo broke up, articles about the star’s new romances began to appear frequently in the press, which the girl constantly denied.

In the fall of 2001, Natalya met the lead singer of the Dividios group, Ricardo Mollo. According to the actress, Ricardo brought her out of depression and made her enjoy life again.

With Ricardo Mollo

Natalia Oreiro is a star of Latin American TV series of the 90s, a lively and vibrant actress, a talented singer and model, and a UNICEF goodwill ambassador. The viewers of the series “Wild Angel” especially remembered it.

Childhood

Natalia Oreiro ( full name Natalia Marisa Oreiro Iglesias Poghio Bouri de Mollo) was born into an ordinary family from the city of Montevideo, Uruguay. She was the second child after her 4-year older sister Adriana, who now owns a fashion boutique.

The parents of the future singer earned little, but they had enough to live on. Natalia's father Carlos Alberto Oreiro worked as a salesman, and mother Mabel Iglesias, who gave birth to the future artist at the age of 27, was a hairdresser in a beauty salon.

Shortly after Natalia's birth, the family moved to Andalusia, a region in southern Spain. Here the baby went to first grade, but before she adapted to the European way of life, her parents decided to return to Uruguay.

Parents could not afford to pay for a prestigious education for their daughters, but they did everything possible so that their children would proudly pronounce their last name. At the age of 8 she was sent to an acting club. Even then, Oreiro knew for sure: she would become an actress and, perhaps, a singer. One can only envy such determination at such a young age.

In general, musicality was clearly passed on to Natalia genetically. The girl’s cousin played the piano superbly, and her grandmother was a conductor in a large orchestra and instilled a love of singing in her daughter. Alas, she was unable to realize herself in this field, but she infected her youngest daughter with a dream of the stage.

First steps to glory

At the age of 11, Natalia had her first chance to show what she had learned in acting classes. She appeared on the travel TV show “Xuxa” (“Shusha”), accompanying the Brazilian presenter Shusha. During filming, the girl visited the La Plata River, to which Natalya dedicated a song years later. She spent the money she earned on tickets to Buenos Aires for herself and her mother - in the capital of Argentina she participated in various castings on TV.

Young Natalia Oreiro in the show “Xuxa”

Finally, 12-year-old Oreiro was offered to star in a commercial. The girl thought that she would advertise disposable towels, and was already dreaming of how this video would open the doors of world show business to her. “It turned out it was an advertisement for tampons. All the directors needed was my ass in white shorts; no one cared about my acting talent. I was ready to collapse from shame,” Natalya recalled. But after that, within a couple of years, the girl starred in 30 commercials international companies, including Coca-cola, Pepsi, Johnson & Johnson.

In 1993, Natalya received a small role in the TV series “High Comedy”. By this time, Natalia had finished working with Shusha and refused the offer to become a representative of MTV in Latin America.

In 1994, Natalia received a supporting role in the series “The Unruly Heart”, in 1995 she starred in “Sweet Anna”, and in 1996 in “Models 90-60-90”. In the latter, she played a girl from the provinces who arrived in the capital of Argentina to become a model. According to the canons of soap operas, the owner of the modeling agency turned out to be her biological mother, but both did not even suspect their relationship.

Career blossoming

When filming of the series “Rich and Famous” began in July 1996, none of the creators doubted that Natalia Oreiro, who played the main female role, would wake up as a star after the premiere. And so it happened: the story of Romeo and Juliet modern style made her recognizable even on the bustling streets of Buenos Aires. When a girl entered the store, a crowd of her fans immediately gathered there asking for an autograph. But this was just the beginning!

In 1998, the TV series “Wild Angel” became a hit on television. The whole world, including Russia, followed the development of the relationship between the heroes Oreiro and Facundo Arana. The name Milagros - that was the name of Oreiro's heroine - grew on the actress and became inseparable.

The same year, the romantic comedy An Argentine in New York was released, marking the beginning of musical career Oreiro. She recorded the song “Que si, que si” for the tape, which was later included in her debut album.

The mediocre comedy surpassed even Titanic with Leonardo DiCaprio at the box office in Argentina. The success of the film became the impetus for recording new songs. On July 14, the world heard the album “Natalia Oreiro,” which included 11 songs. More than one and a half million Oreiro fans bought her disc, which earned it platinum status.

The actress liked to sing, and already in 2000 Oreiro’s second album “Tu Veneno” was released, which translates into Russian as “Your poison”. The track list consisted of 15 compositions. The album earned Natalia a nomination for the Latin version of the Grammy Award in the category “Best Pop Album of the Year,” but lost to “Mi Reflejo” by Christina Aguilera. Two years later, Oreiro released her third album, “Turmalina” (“tourmaline”), and left musical activity for a long time.

In April 2002, filming of the series “Kachorra” began (it was released in Russian television under the title “Wild Angel. Return,” although the story was already about another couple in love). Natalia's partner in this series was actor Pablo Rago.

In the spring of 2005, Natalia Oreiro took part in the filming of the Russian-Argentine serial film “In the Rhythm of Tango”, she was accompanied by Andrei Smolyakov, Olga Pogodina and Valery Nikolaev. Since then, the artist has been deeply in love with Russia.

At the end of 2005, Natalia began filming in the series “You are My Life,” where Facundo Arana again became her partner. They brought to life the love story of a racer and a boxer.

The year 2007 started extremely well for the actress. She was recognized as the queen of the Cannes festival, “You Are My Life” was shown on TV in all corners of the planet, and she was awarded the “Best Actress” award at the Martín Fierro Awards. In October, Natalya and her sister launched a line fashionable clothes"Las Oreiro" and opened a boutique in Palermo.

The actress welcomed the spring of 2008 in an updated look - with blond hair. In the same year, Oreiro shone in the TV series “Amanda O,” where she played the world’s favorite singer and philanthropist. But the first impression of Amanda’s resemblance to Oreiro herself was wrong: the heroine of the series hid a selfish and obnoxious character behind a brilliant façade. But at one point Amanda had to lose everything and start the path to the pinnacle of fame from the very beginning.

In 2009, the successful comedy “Music Waiting” was released. Viewers saw Natalia in the role of pregnant secretary Paula, who inspires musician Ezekiel to create beautiful compositions.

In the 2010s, Oreiro appeared in romantic comedies (My First Wedding), biographical dramas (I Am Gilda), and thrillers (Wakonda, nominated for the Un Certain Regard award at the Cannes Film Festival). The actress did not forget about the series; Separately, it is worth noting the black comedy “Dark Angel”, where Natalya plays the hostess funeral home, in which the deaths of people are falsified. Here a completely different Oreiro appears before the audience, no longer the naive girl from “Wild Angel”.

In 2016, after a long silence in the role of a singer, Natalia released a new single, “No Me Arrepiento de Este Amor.”

Natalia Oreiro - biography

The actress from Uruguay is so popular among us that fans quite seriously propose to award “our Natasha” the title of People’s Artist of Russia.

Natalia turned 40 not long ago, but she has not lost the enthusiasm characteristic of youth. He still acts in film series, records new songs and gives concerts, designs and produces clothes under the Las Oreiro brand, supervises charities and travels around the world as a goodwill ambassador.

It is clear that today Oreiro will no longer go out into the street in short shorts and a backwards baseball cap. Her films have become more serious, and her songs are filled deep meaning, but deep down she's still the same girl from Wild Angel.

When asked how she manages everything, Oreiro replies: “I love work, and therefore I don’t get tired of filming or performing. I love my family, and therefore I try to spend every free minute with my loved ones. I love people, and therefore I gladly give them my passion and receive a lot of pleasure in return.” And yet the public, as usual, is more interested in the artist’s personal life.

Natalia Oreiro - biography of personal life

They met in November 2001 at a party. Music sounded, champagne sparkled in the glass, but Natalia was sad. She could not come to her senses after breaking up with her lover - actor Pablo Ecciari, whose affair lasted 6 years. A man sat down next to her, and the girl herself didn’t notice how she told him all her sorrows. And an hour later she was laughing at his jokes and dancing. Rock musician Ricardo Mollo from the group Los Divididos turned out to be an intelligent and sensitive interlocutor, which won Oreiro’s heart.

To many of her friends, this choice seemed strange: she was not very good-looking, and almost twice her age (she was 24 years old, he was 44), but Natalia listened only to her heart. On December 31 they got married. The wedding took place on a yacht off the coast of Brazil, exchanging original wedding rings- done on ring fingers tattoos with each other's names. They waited 10 years for an addition to the family, and then in January 2012, a baby appeared - Merlin Atahualpa.

People first started talking about the fact that not everything was going well in the family even before the birth of the child - in 2009. Oreiro was caught having an affair with Argentine actor Facundo Arana. She denied everything, and the clouds soon cleared. In 2015, everything was much more serious. In the summer, everyone noticed how passionately Natalia and Benjamin Vicuña, her partner in the series “Among the Cannibals,” hugged at a party.

In October, Vicuña announced that he had not been living with his wife for several months and was going to get a divorce, and Oreiro left the family nest. But the series was unexpectedly closed, and it became clear: outside the set the passion is not so strong...

The wise Ricardo found the strength to forgive his wife. Already in January 2016, the paparazzi watched Natalia and Ricardo, leaving their son in the care of their relatives, leaving his birthday party and cooing like doves.

Oreiro is grateful to her husband for saving her from an irreparable mistake: you cannot destroy a marriage, at least for the sake of your son. She is also grateful to the Russians: every time she comes to our country, the actress is convinced of how important family is for Russians. She knows what she's talking about: the singer toured in many cities and traveled along the Trans-Siberian Railway.

Rumors periodically appear that Natalia will have another child, but she herself claims that she does not want a second one yet: “I enjoy the company of my son. I devote every minute to Merlin, and still it seems to me that this is too little.”

Natalia suggests switching to you. When she mentions her son, her face lights up, her eyes sparkle, and her emotions seem to give her goosebumps. Natalia gives the impression of a very sincere, childlike open woman. She does not consider herself an exemplary mother and honestly admits this.

- Natalia, are you doing your thing? musical career, you actively tour, act in films, you have a clothing line “Las Oreiro”, which you produce together with your sister. How do you manage to combine all this with being a wife and mother?

– It’s very difficult. I think all working mothers will understand me. Every time I leave my son on tour or filming, I cry. I’m having a hard time with the separation, but I can’t quit my job either. This is an important part of my life. I can’t live without music, without stage, without cinema.

I serve my son, who needs time, but I try not to lose my personal space. When I leave home, Ata tells me: “I don’t want you to work hard. I already have a bunch of cars.” I’m trying to explain to him that I sing and act in films not only for the sake of money, I just love my profession. I hope he understands.

I try to devote maximum time to my son. Therefore, I learn all the texts right on the set during lunch break. Evening is time for family. When I return from work, Ata and I go to the library. There we read fairy tales together and choose a book that my son reads with his dad or our house help during the day while I’m on set.

Ricardo helps me with everything. He is a wonderful father! My husband takes Ata to kindergarten, picks him up, knows all the teachers, goes to parent-teacher meetings. Unfortunately, I don’t have time to do all this.

- Before your son was born, you said that you would take maternity leave for 3-4 years and devote this time to raising a child. What made you abandon your plans?

– I was going to leave cinema and the stage for four years, but I didn’t succeed. I simply cannot live without my work. Director Thomas Yankelevich called me and invited me to new project- TV series “Among the Cannibals.” I said, “No, I can't. I have little son" But Thomas persuaded me to read the script. It was a real challenge, the role turned out to be completely atypical for me: my heroine was raped, after which she began to take revenge. I couldn't refuse to participate in this project.

For me it's complex topic. I missed my son’s first birthday because filming was going on, it’s good that Ricardo was next to our boy on this holiday. When Ata first got up high temperature, I wasn’t around again. They put makeup on me, and I cried and couldn’t stop. My husband called the pediatrician, whom I called every five minutes. The doctor assured me that everything was fine: if the child had a fever, it meant that the body was fighting the disease. But I was still worried. Thanks to the producers - they moved all the scenes with me so that I could go home early.

– In Russia, it is customary for the mother to take care of the children. It is the woman who goes on maternity leave and deals with parenting issues. How are things going with this in Argentina?

– In Argentina everything is exactly the same as in Russia. But every family has its own rules. Ricardo is not only my husband, he is my friend and partner. The man who believes in my dreams. This is very important. That is why he took on part of the care of his son, while he continues to study music. It doesn't hurt his career.

– Despite your active filming schedule, you breastfed your child and even participated in the UNICEF campaign “Breastfeeding is giving the best of you.” Why was this important to you?

– Many women now do not breastfeed because they are afraid of losing shape. But a nursing mother is the most beautiful thing in the world. During the first six months, the baby needs breast milk. But I think that even after six months you need to continue feeding breast milk, if possible. I did this until she was two and a half years old, but when Atya was 6 months old, I started introducing other foods.

Breastfeeding is good for your baby's health and strengthens the bond between mother and baby.

– When I was expecting a child, I did not limit myself in food, I gained 30 kg, I hated myself and my body. I wouldn't wish the same on anyone. People around me said: “Stop eating! You’re just huge!” I had a terrible complex, I couldn’t look at my reflection in the mirror, but I continued to eat. I was like a Russian nesting doll (laughs).

A month after giving birth, I had to appear at the Cannes Film Festival... Cannes, red carpet, and I'm fat! I urgently needed to get in shape. I couldn’t go on a diet because I was breastfeeding my baby. As a result, I took extreme measures: I banned myself from my favorite chocolate and all flour products. A month after giving birth, I began to exercise a little, after consulting with my doctor. I think breastfeeding also helped my weight loss to some extent.

– How have you changed since the birth of your son?

– Motherhood has never been the main goal of my life, I just didn’t feel it. And now I can’t imagine how I lived before without my son. I began to feel like a more complete person, as if I had completely found myself. At the same time, I became more vulnerable, more sensitive. I have always had a special love for children, but after Ata was born, this feeling intensified. I work in many organizations with children in need, with orphans, with children who have health problems. Previously, I went through this situation, bringing joy... Now it is much more difficult for me to do all this, I cannot see how the child suffers. I'm crying...

I recently saw a theater play about child abduction, and I couldn't watch it: I cried. And this is connected with maternal feelings, which were unfamiliar to me before I became a mother. I could imagine, they could tell me about it, but I had no idea how it really was.

– Is it true that your son chose his name himself?

“My husband, Ricardo, chose the name for our son. They have a tradition in their family; all Mollo children have the abbreviation of their first and last names M.A.M. But I made my own adjustments, so we named our son Merlin Atahualpa Mollo Oreiro. In Uruguay and throughout Latin America, the mother's surname is added.

While our son was little, we called him Merlin. But one day we were getting out of a taxi, the driver said goodbye: “Ciao, Merlin!”, and the son answered: “My name is Atahualpa.” I corrected him: “Dear, your name is Merlin Atahualpa.” Then we discussed this episode, and my son said: “Everyone called me Merlin in childhood, but now I’m an adult and my name is Atahualpa.” Ricardo was surprised, but didn't mind. It was more difficult for my parents to get used to it. His grandmother calls him: “Merlin, Merlin...”, but he does not react, because now his name is Atahualpa (laughs).

– What is the most important thing in raising a son?

– The most important thing in raising a child is to help him be free, be able to make choices and be himself. I don’t want my son to be like me or Ricardo, let him be himself, because every person is unique.

– What is Ata’s talent, and how do you help him develop his abilities?

- Ata is interested musical instruments, he recognizes and imitates sounds. We have a rehearsal room at home, our rooms are filled with instruments. Ata has her own small drum kit. But we try not to impose anything on our son. If he wants to make music, he does. If he wants to play cars, he plays. We are for freedom of choice.

– Your son already goes to kindergarten. How did you accustom him to the new environment?

– It was difficult. At first we sent him to a kindergarten with a musical focus. He loves music, he loves to sing, and we decided that he would have fun there. But older children dressed up there in fairy tale characters. Ata cried and was afraid of the guys. We bought him a Spider-Man costume and watched the movie with him, but he still felt uncomfortable. As a result, we moved him to the garden closest to our house, where my niece and goddaughter go, and Atya liked it there. He is happy with everything.

It is very important to listen to your child. There is no need for overprotection, but you need to try to make the child’s life comfortable.
