Interview with Heidi Klum to Katya Presnel for skimbacolifestyle.com

K.P.:In Hollywood they often say that you should never work with children or animals. So how did it come about that you started working with children? It's complicated?
H.K.: I must say that such a warning really does apply. Yes, working with children is very difficult. And I admit that when I agreed to this job, I thought it would be much easier. Perhaps because I have four children of my own... They are my children, they know me, they know my voice, my tone and so on; and those children with whom I work are not mine, they don’t know me, and therefore I cannot teach them manners, for example. It took me some time to understand for myself who these children were and what their story was. And I want to know them before the show so I have an idea of what's what.
I interview 12-13 children every day. Sometimes I can talk to one child for an hour and a half, and nothing funny happens during that time. When we do preliminary interviews, we just chat with the kids, they are very funny and talk non-stop. But when we start filming, they suddenly fall silent, and you can’t get a word out of them. With children you need to be open and go with the flow.
So you never know what you'll get out of it. But it's kind of a challenge, and you accept it. They are not actors, and I am not an actress. I'm not a comedian, I'm a mother. And yes, I may work on television, but I am not a professional. So I just chat with them like adults; I ask questions that may be of interest to both children and adults, because this is a show for adults, by the way.

K.P.:How is your show different from, for example, Bill Cosby's show?
H.K.: We have the same producers, but Bill Cosby is an actor, television host and professional in this field. I came to this project through the show Runway, and I'm not here to support myself. There is an audience, people who applaud, this is something new and I am new to this business. In addition, children now are not at all the same as they were 10-15 years ago, they think differently. And they are more sociable. Remembering myself at their age, I can say that I was quiet, like a mouse, I did not speak as much as children speak today. And if I, for example, got on television, I would not communicate the way these children communicate. Then the children were very correct, they behaved well, but now everything is different. They are smart and diligent even now, but everything is completely different.

K.P.:What else have you learned about how children see the world today?
H.K.: Children are honest. They talk about their parents, know what kind of cars they drive, what their phone models are called, and so on. And, being a mother, I can say that some things are very difficult for me. It's difficult to combine something. For example, I might receive an email and that means I have to respond to it. Sometimes they call me and say: “I sent you a letter 20 minutes ago, why didn’t you answer?” Perhaps because I was with the children or just taking them to school? And children always notice everything, they say, “Why are you always looking at your computer, why don’t you talk to me?” They receive quite a lot of such complaints.

K.P.: Any advice for parents? How can you be better for your children?
H.K.: Before starting a family and children, it is important to understand that your life will change. And you need to understand all this before everything is done and you want to step back. When you have children, you need to try to look at everything from their side, to take their place. Sometimes you have a difficult day, you come home, and you want to answer “not now” to many requests. But at this moment it is important to understand the child’s side, take a break from work and be with him. And you need to get used to the fact that sometimes your baby may vomit on you.

K.P.: Tell us about your children and the traditions that you have in your family.
H.K.: I try to understand my children, I use a sense of humor, and we always have fun together. I love being the mom who says “yes, go ahead, bring your friends to us!” They always put on fashion shows and things like that at our house.
We like educational books, we watch movies while flying, we love to study applied arts. Children walk a lot, they go for walks every day. I like that they are active and I don't want them to sit on the computer at all. They do karate, sometimes the boys do ballet; we have an art teacher who always gives a lot interesting tasks and ideas, and the children make amazing projects. We try to develop their memory and so on.

K.P.:Is your childhood very different from the childhood of your kids?
H.K.: Of course, there are a lot of differences. My daughter wears a uniform at school and we had a long discussion about this because I, as a student, did not wear a uniform. Also my family was not very good financial situation: everyone around was wearing Lacoste clothes, but we couldn’t afford it. One day my parents went on vacation to Thailand. From there they brought a lot of Lacoste crocodile patches. So my mom sewed them on all my T-shirts to make me feel no less than everyone else.

K.P.:Has anything really funny or embarrassing ever happened to you as a child?
H.K.: The funniest childhood memory is undoubtedly snail racing. We had a lot of snails and we had real races. We didn't have as many toys then as kids do today. We were constantly on the street. If she didn’t put something in her nose, she could, for example, pee in her pants. And it was always very awkward. I never liked going to the toilet at school, so I usually endured it all day, and worst of all, sometimes I couldn’t hold it in. When my mother didn’t have time to run to the door to open it for me, I didn’t hold back either.

K.P.:How do you keep romance alive in your marriage?
H.K.: Key number one is to marry someone you think is really sexy and hot. I still look at Seal and think so, I get butterflies in my stomach every time I look at him. You also need to take care of yourself so that you look appropriate in the eyes of your spouse. Of course, I exercise and watch my body and weight for myself, but I also do it for my husband. It is necessary to keep yourself in shape for your man. I also do this because of work, but I want to do it only for his sake.

K.P.: How to make time for marriage?
H.K.: This must be done. It's the same as cleaning or eating the right food. We have four children and we love them, but we need to find time for the two of us. It is important to talk about what interests adults, and not just about children. I know that not everyone can afford nannies, but there are grandmothers who also teach their grandchildren a lot. And it’s great when you have time for a walk together.

K.P.: You business woman, super model, great mother and wife, how do you teach your children to live the same way? life to the fullest, like you?
H.K.: I don't teach them this. I believe that my children should not worry about how to make money and get a job. I want them to remain just children for now.

K.P.:Do you think you need money to live a full life with your family?
H.K.: Yes. I love traveling all over the world and it makes my life complete. I like to travel to India, explore a new culture and I believe that it is possible to travel with less money, but personally I would not be able to.

Interview with Heidi Klum for Glamor magazine. Journalist Amy Spencer

E.S.:Let's talk about clothes. If you could only wear one outfit for the rest of your life, what would it be?
H.K.: Perhaps pajamas? I have a whole collection of pajamas!

E.S.:What does Seal like better – pajamas or underwear?
H.K.: He loves pajamas! He's a real Brit, so he loves pajamas. We wear pajamas and sometimes take them off.

E.S.:Now let's talk about the show Runway. Your criticism seems to get harsher from season to season. Do you agree with this?
H.K.: No, I don't think so. But I can say that I feel more comfortable with the show now than I did in the first few seasons.

E.S.:Does Tim Gan sometimes give you fashion advice?
H.K.: No, he's very polite. He will never say something like “how could you wear that?” But Michael Kors is fine. He always makes fun of me. He says mine are too short. Teases me.

E.S.:How do you keep the show so fresh and interesting for so many seasons?
H.K.: It depends on the specific designers. Of course, some seasons are better than others. The only thing that hasn't changed is that we eat a lot of Cheetos! And we all have forever orange hands, except Michael, because the orange color almost merges with his tan.

E.S.: How long do you think the show will remain on the air?
H.K.: Well, I will be 80 years old, and I will still walk along the catwalk with a cane.

E.S.: You are known for your boldness in fashion. What was your biggest mistake?
H.K.: I can't even say. I have always worked in the present moment. It's the same with hairstyles. When I was younger I had a perm that was very voluminous. My mom was a hairdresser, so even my dad had a perm! Of course, I looked a little like a poodle, but at that time it was considered fashionable.

E.S.: Is there something you're doing poorly?
H.K.: There are a lot of such things! I'm a bad baker. I have a hard time letting things go. And I don't read very well.

E.S.:Are you a bad reader?
H.K.: Yes! Sometimes I read and suddenly ask, “What kind of word is this?” and begin to pronounce it syllable by syllable. Then my daughter Leni says, “Mommy, don’t you know what that word means?” And I say, “No, what about you?” She answers: “I don’t know either, but you should know, you’re a mother.”

E.S.: You usually prepare very carefully for Halloween...
H.K.: I think when people put on suits they relax. For me, life is about creating moments that can be remembered later. A ordinary days they just mix into one. You need to create memories that will always make you want to smile.

E.S.: Have men ever hurt you?
H.K.: In the period between my first marriage and my current one, I met guys who really liked me. But everything stopped because they started lying to me. It really hurts. Now I look back and think, was I really that stupid and cried because of this idiot?

E.S.:What piece of lingerie do you think every woman should own?
H.K.: A good belt and garters won't hurt. I'm not saying you should put a pole in your bedroom and swing a whip. But sometimes these things come in handy!

There were two marriages, with last husband she managed to save friendly relations. Yesterday the model was spotted on the football field where her children were playing, in the company of ex-spouse. The celebrities kissed sweetly and chatted cheerfully about the future of their offspring, their successes and achievements. The wise blonde realized long ago that even after a divorce, children should communicate with their father and receive attention from him.

Before the game started, Heidi Klum and Seal couldn't kiss their children and hugged them endlessly. Even though eldest daughter model Helen is Seal's stepchild; he treats her no less reverently than his own children. The singer adopted the baby and tries to spend as much time as possible with his children.

Now the eldest daughter Helen, whose father is the famous billionaire Flavio Briatore, sons Henry and Johan, as well as daughter Lou Sulola from her ex-husband Seal, are growing up in Heidi Klum’s family. The singer adopted the girl Helen, despite the fact that he is not her biological father. AND for a long time Heidi Klum and Sila's family were considered true role models. However, the celebrity divorce changed the situation, although the former spouses managed to maintain friendly relations.

Not long ago, Heidi Klum admitted that doesn't want any more children and is going to give birth, even if she meets a worthy man. “I think four kids is great. “I no longer plan to give birth and become a mother again,” the model said in a conversation with journalists from one of the popular publications. This categorical position of Heidi Klum in relation to the number of children is due to the fact that in at the moment she has to raise her offspring on her own. Despite the fact that the star was married twice and gave birth to four children, she never met a worthy man.

Heidi born on June 1 in the German city of Bergisch Gladbach ( former territory Germany) in the family of the executive director of a cosmetics company and a hairdresser.

Friends persuaded Heidi to try her luck in the modeling business, and luck smiled on her - beating 25 thousand competitors, the girl took 1st place in the competition Model 92 in April 1992. The main prize was a contract with Metropolitan Models New York for $300,000.

By this time, Heidi had already entered the university to study design, but the offer and possible prospects after winning the competition were one that could not be refused. And she left her studies, preferring to build her career as a model.

Over four years of constant filming, shows, glamorous parties and charity events, the beauty managed to become famous and gain a reputation as one of the most beautiful and desirable women on the planet. There was no end to the fans, but when one of them - stylist Rick Pipino - proposed to her on the roof of the Empire State Building in 1996, she said yes.

The wedding took place a year after the engagement, and Heidi remained as Mrs. Pipino for about five years. She initiated the divorce, but Rick agreed without any particular complaints.

Heidi continued to move in social circles, and now everyone around began to talk about her new marriage - the model officially announced that she was expecting a child from her partner - Flavio Briatore. However, things didn’t come to the rings - Heidi broke up with the unfaithful playboy and went nowhere while she was three months pregnant.

Her everyday life was again filled with work - filming, advertising campaigns clothing, cosmetics and perfumes, television, acting experience, social events where she played the role of host. And on one of them in the hotel lobby she saw Him...

Henry Olusegun Adeola Samuel born on February 19, 1963 in the London area of Paddington. The future musician had a difficult childhood. Both of Henry's parents had strong African roots, but his father was born in Brazil. Mom was from Nigeria. Both ended up in London thanks to the desire to get an education. Therefore, a child for two working students was, to put it mildly, a burden. For some time, Henry was sheltered by a foster family, but when he turned four, his mother took him back... And raised him alone, because... By this time, the parents' student marriage had broken up.

But the idyll did not last long - my mother became very ill and had to return to Nigeria. Then the father took up raising his son. But he was not very zealous in this matter - Henry was more of a burden to him than a son.

He dropped out of school and ran away from home to go free. But by some miracle he was smart enough to still get a diploma in architecture, completing a two-year course.

He took on any job, but most of all his soul was drawn to music. And it was there - in the nightclubs and bars of London - that his professional career as a singer and musician began.

Singles, albums, charts, video clips, music awards - his popularity grew, and along with it his media exposure increased: more and more often he began to be invited to various social events as a celebrity.

And at one of these events, his eye was attracted by She...

The year was 2004 and GQ publishing house was preparing for its regular event- GQ Awards, which took place in London and where celebrities from all over the world were invited. She was bored in the hotel lobby, and he was returning from the gym.

She couldn’t take her eyes off the muscular giant, and he thought that “her man is the happiest on earth.” The acquaintance quickly grew into a whirlwind romance, but for the first month Heidi hid the fact that she was pregnant - she was afraid of Seal’s reaction to the news of pregnancy from another man. " But he treated me with such love, tenderness and understanding that I confessed, - the model later recalled. - And he not only didn’t turn away, didn’t lose his temper, on the contrary! - said that he would take care of the baby as if he were his own child..."

The singer chose a truly romantic place for the proposal: a glacier in Canada, where a bed strewn with rose petals was installed especially for this occasion. Could Heidi refuse? Of course not! Their wedding took place on May 10, 2005 in a close family circle. And after Helena was born, Seal officially adopted her.

Heidi Klum became a supermodel, partly continuing the work of her parents, who also belonged to the fashion world - her father was a representative of a large cosmetics company, and her mother was a stylist. Her personal life has always been eventful and rich in novels, she was married twice, gave birth to four children, who do not prevent her from starting new relationships.

Heidi Klum's first husband was a famous New York hairdresser - Heidi married Rick Pipino when she was twenty-four years old, and she was not yet so famous. Klum lived with Rick for five years, and after the divorce she maintained an excellent relationship with him.

In the photo - Heidi Klum with her first husband

It was during the period when Heidi was married to Pipino that she learned what real fame was - by appearing on the cover of Sports Illustrated magazine, Heidi acquired world fame, and from that moment her rapid ascent up the career ladder began.

Having broken up, this marriage did not leave any traces in the model’s personal life - she and Rick never became parents, but a year after the divorce, Heidi Klum began dating the famous businessman and managing director of Formula 1 Flavio Briatore, an affair with whom lasted almost a year and the consequence of this relationship was the birth of Heidi’s first child, daughter Leni.

In the photo - Heidi Klum and Seal

However, her real father was not Briatore, but Heidi Klum’s second husband, the African-American singer Seal, who adopted Leni. For seven whole years everyone admired this married couple, whose relationship seemed ideal - they constantly confessed their love to each other, demonstrating exemplary family life. During her life with Seal, Heidi gave birth to three more children - Henry, Johan and Lou, and no one even suspected that inside this married couple a conflict has already matured, which led to the separation of the spouses.

They divorced noisily and with scandals, and the reason for the divorce, according to many, was new novel supermodels - Heidi Klum fell madly in love with her bodyguard Martin Kirsten. Their relationship began during a trip to Sardinia - perhaps Seal already suspected his wife’s passion, but in Sardinia he no longer had any doubts.

After the divorce, the children remained with Heidi, who already saw her happy future next to Martin, but he never had to become Heidi Klum’s third husband. They lived together for less than two years, and almost immediately after breaking up with Kirsten, the supermodel began a new romance - with art dealer Vito Schnabel, who is thirteen years younger than Heidi.

For Vito, Heidi is not the first star with whom he had an affair - before that he dated actress Demi Moore, who, by the way, was also much older than him. Vito, with whom the supermodel appeared on everyone social events and openly demonstrated her feelings, became a lifesaver for her, allowing her to forget the parting with Seal and Martin.

To Heidi Klum's credit, it is worth noting that she, despite scandalous divorce, was able to restore good relationship with my ex-husband– Sil accepts active participation in raising their children. Moreover, Klum communicates normally with new lover her ex-husband Erica Packer, who gave birth to another child.

Klum successfully combines her stormy personal life with no less successful career– she not only took an active part in fashion shows, but also advertised the products of the most famous brands. Sweets, jewelry, clothing, and perfumes are produced under her name. In addition, Heidi Klum has played several roles in television films and films, hosts various television shows, and even wrote the book Klum’s Body of Knowledge: 8 Rules of Model Behavior (to Help You Take Off on the Runway of Life). In 2008, she became one of the fifteen richest models in the world according to Forbes, and in the list of the most influential women in 2011 she took eleventh place.

This is the top model I admire! She was able to create large family, build a career and maintain your figure. Let's take an example!

Lose weight after giving birth like Heidi Klum

Blonde beauty Heidi Klum is a real record holder for her ability to quickly get into shape after giving birth. After the birth of her second child, she was able to lose 20 kilograms in 8 weeks - also so that she could feel confident on the catwalk in sexy Victoria's Secret lingerie.

After the birth of my daughter Heidi decided to relax and for the first 2 weeks she didn’t even try to lose weight. But soon realizing that the weight would not go away so easily, she began walking with a stroller along the street, located on a steep slope. And then, as before, she turned to trainer David Kirsch, who got her body in shape after three previous pregnancies.

“It seemed to me that if I didn’t lose weight right away, the fat would stick forever,” the model admitted.

Heidi's food

David immediately developed a diet for the model.

For breakfast - a protein shake, and for second breakfast - boiled eggs or omelette without yolk.

For lunch - skinless chicken and vegetables. Heidi's favorites were broccoli and spinach. For an afternoon snack, the slimmer Klum could eat nuts, and for dinner she had a wide choice: a protein shake or a piece of turkey.

“It’s a pity that over the years it’s more difficult to get your body in shape,- says Heidi Klum. “When I was 31 and gave birth to my first daughter, I lost weight easier and faster than I do now, at 36, after my fourth child.”

Fitness Heidi Klum

When it comes to fitness, the ruthless trainer has a rule: “Anything that shakes is bad.” Every morning, the trainer chased Heidi along the beach, did yoga with her and forced her to shadow box.

During the day, it’s time for cardio exercise: 45 minutes on a treadmill or bicycle ergometer. Like a true German, Heidi Klum sticks to her plan.

She also taught her beloved singer husband Sil to do this.

“My wife taught me that you can do everything: keep yourself in shape, take care of children, build a career, communicate with friends and travel. The main thing is to plan everything accurately, preferably several years in advance,” says Seal.
