Rating of the bloodiest games on PC. Top most violent video games

Computer games get a lot of flak for being "too violent," but like it or not, many of the most important and memorable video games are filled with blood, guts, and machine gun fire. Video games have been shocking people with violence since the 1970s, when games were limited to simple arcade games. Since then, many brutal racing games, brutal shooting games and fighting games have appeared, such as Mortal Kombat. The proliferation of game consoles and computers is only increasing their popularity.

17 Carmageddon, 1997

The goal of the game is to win the race with one of the three ways: reaching the finish line first, destroying all pedestrians (on average 500 on one map), or destroying enemy cars. Over time, it becomes possible to improve the car using the money earned (increase the parameters of armor, engine power and “attack” surfaces). Also, after some time, enemy cars become available to the player.

Carmageddon is a game where the scoring system is based on hitting pedestrians and causing various types of damage to the environment. Every time you hit a person (or people), the game shows a huge red trail of blood on the road behind your car and other visual gore.

The very first part of 1997 gained the greatest popularity, but then the second and third parts were embroidered: Carmageddon 2: Carpocalypse now, Carmageddon 3: The Death Race 2000.

5 Silent Hill series, 1999-2012

The creepy, gothic artistry of the Silent Hill franchise is undeniable, and the creators of these games created such nightmarish, gory imagery that people still remember these games with horror. Silent Hill - series computer games in the survival horror genre. It is one of the most famous and popular horror series in the history of the gaming industry. The early games in the series belong to the most prominent representatives of the genre, which largely determined its development.

Most of the games in the series take place in the fictional city of Silent Hill. The games in the series were created under the strong influence of horror literature, in particular the psychological horror genre. Among earlier representatives of the survival horror genre, they stand out for their bright, multi-faceted plots and gloomy, frightening atmosphere; The characters in the Silent Hill series are not action heroes, but ordinary people. In total, the games sold more than 7 million copies worldwide.

The basis of the Silent Hill concept is the so-called subjectivity of perception.

Another important component of the concept is the idea that any emotion is a kind of energy. Moreover, negative emotions carry the most powerful psychoenergetic potential. A special feature of this energy is its ability to be absorbed into space, objects, and buildings. The city of Silent Hill in the game absorbed a huge amount of it - this is due to the fact that many people suffered and died there for various reasons over the course of decades. This supply of “dark” power affects everyone who comes near the city. And if a person who has fallen under the influence of the city keeps a hidden sin in his soul, then the power accumulated in the city instantly affects him, and all the person’s fears will begin to take on a conditionally material form, drawing before him the most realistic and most terrible visions.

IN different parts games for us in different ways- visual, sound, musical and others - demonstrates what forms people's distorted perceptions can take. This includes images of game “monsters” drawn by the subconscious minds of the characters, as well as strange puzzles of the game, which are only imaginary obstacles associated with the desire of the creator of this subconscious world to limit the freedom of the main character.

Only the 1st and 3rd parts are directly related to the plot, but connections and references from later games to earlier ones are present throughout the series.

The basis of the game universe is the desert city of Silent Hill, which has the ability to bring to life the subconscious dark impulses of people who find themselves within its boundaries.

Engineer Isaac Clarke went on board the station, whose tasks included searching for damage and subsequent repair of systems. True, the technician did not find a single person in the corridors and compartments, although the team did not disappear anywhere - it only changed...

Game video:

The protagonist uses futuristic weapons such as plasma cutters, circular saws and assault rifles to destroy amorphous monsters and human cultists. Dead Space 3's gameplay is more action-based, forcing players to rely on their reaction speed and ability to use the environment as cover from opponents.

Game video:

2 Manhunt, 2003

The game is a stealth horror game with third-person action elements. The player needs to navigate through various locations, completing the tasks assigned to him, which usually boil down to the fact that the player needs to get somewhere, kill someone, or get something for further plot advancement. To combat opponents, the game provides the ability to hide and sneak up.

Reprisals against opponents are carried out in two ways: direct contact and silent killing. In the first case, it is much more difficult to kill the enemy, because the main combat system is designed for stealth killings: the player misses too many hits, cannot hit from too far away, but there are moments in the game where the player has to get involved in a fight or shootout. Silent killings are called "executions." There are three types of executions: quick (white indicator), cruel (yellow) and brutal (red). The longer the attack button is held, the worse the reprisal will be. Each execution differs in both speed and cruelty (which is the main point for which this game received so much criticism). Executions are carried out with various weapons, but only cold ones: firearms will simply be used as they should be. For carrying out more terrible executions, a higher rating is awarded, which affects the content unlocked during completion, victories in hand-to-hand combat is also highly rated.

Manhunt 2 was released in 2007

1 Mortal Kombat series, 1992-2016

No other series of games (except perhaps GTA) has caused as much indignation and protests from the authorities of countries as Mortal Kombat. And not without reason - Fatality, Brutality and other finishing moves on opponents in these games are always cruel and painful. The main line of games in the series is a fighting game with one-on-one duels. Classic games, as well as their updates, have been rendered in 2D. With the release of Mortal Kombat 4, the series moves into 3D. Since 2011, the series has been re-released. IN new games added even more blood, broken bones and violence.

Genre: Fighting

Game video:

Well, everything should be clear here. All gamers have heard many times about how the US Senate, the Australian Congress, the President/Chancellor of some other country, or even ordinary dudes discuss the level of cruelty in video games. And what? Nothing. Everyone (or almost everyone) pretends that nothing like this is happening. I agree - the self-defense instinct is quite natural, but this does not help anyone become more honest. Not all video games are cruel, there are even quite cute and cuddly ones, for example - Animal Crossing: New Leaf or Gone Home. But let's at least be honest with ourselves! And let's stop pretending that there aren't really, really, really violent video games out there. Instead, let's just acknowledge their presence on our shelves/hard drives.

This article is not at all about which game is the bloodiest, toughest, or most heavily saturated with corpses. It’s just that the games on the list drag us into the net of brutality, the presence of which we ourselves did not even suspect. Considering that Grand Theft Auto V comes out this week - this debate will be revived with renewed vigor. So, for the sake of completeness, let's get down to discussing the truly crazy violent games that have ever come from the pens of coders' keyboards into this digital world...

It certainly wasn't everyone's cup of five o'clock tea, but people grinning at the sight of a distressed gentleman writhing from another bullet hole found Bulletstorm to be damn funny. On the other hand, if you're not inclined to solve every problem with an outrageously violent barrage of fire, you might well be sick of this shooter. Regardless of self-criticism and abundance, you learn the most difficult ways to kill opponents.

Essentially, each level was a justification for numerous attacks by muscular mutants, each of whom was doomed to perish in some kind of joint. environment- electric fields, insectivorous plants, walls of sharp stakes - or be stuffed with hot lead. Add to Grayson Hunt's ability to yank enemies with an energy Scourge or send them flying in slow motion with the forged heel of an army gravity boot, and the game becomes a gruesome ballet of twisted, bullet-ridden corpses flying into oblivion. To complement these avant-garde messages, the dialogues contained such provocative phrases as: “This is an evening with trouperellas, I’m in leading role!” and “What the fuck? That one over there is healthy, bitch!”

Games like Saw II: Flesh and Blood are built around vile deaths caused by horrifying, yet inventively creative, metal traps. But in 1986, before we became so desensitized to the torment of unfortunate souls ripping out their own eyeballs to remove a surgically implanted key, Chiller was created to mutilate digital prisoners in a place as public as an art gallery. This game with light pehal was less a thing for gaining points and improving skills, but rather an excuse for sadists in satisfying their sick needs. Players were required to kill every living creature in a given diorama like *Torture Chamber* or *Torture Room*. Mainly you had to shoot and burn the flesh off defenseless prisoners, exposing their chests and bright red internal organs while your victims screamed in pain.

The most pointless thing about it all, well, aside from the fact that there was no justification for the senseless violence, was that the settings became increasingly customizable as it progressed, going from "human slaughterhouse" to "Scooby-Doo hallway." Oh, and another fun fact - later versions censored the nudity of the dismembered female body in the background. Since God does not want this, we see pixelated nipples while we dismember helpless prisoners with bullets.

Kratos' Crusade Against greek gods has always been bathed in the glory of fabulous cruelty. But the conclusion of the original God of War trilogy raised the bar, drenching us in gallons of gore and pelting us with scraps of meat in a variety of new ways. And every time you thought that there could be no more cruelty and that you had already seen all the variety of cruel executions, you were immediately covered with a new, bone-chillingly wild and absolutely furious muse.

I wonder what it might feel like to be beaten into a cake? God of War III presented death scenes through the eyes of the unfortunate bags of bones being beaten by Kratos. Yes, of course, and the third part is full of merciless fatalities on monsters - tearing out the eyes of Cyclops, cutting open the stomachs of Titans and similar things. But by destroying Helios, the sun god, Kratos surpassed even his barbarian standards. The player must mash buttons to slowly decapitate Helios. After painstakingly opening up the poor god's skull, you will have the pleasure of watching time-lapse footage of the head being separated from the shoulders, mucous membranes, tendons, and so on.

Developer Running with Scissors wanted nothing more than to shock and dismay fans with its Postal franchise. Instead of a hodgepodge of racial stereotypes, flying projectiles and animal cruelty, the main goal of Postal 2 is to allow the player to pummel, smash and kill civilians without consequences. Postal 2's tagline is that the game is *only as cruel as you are* - but without graceful cruelty, it would simply become a game about a boring delivery boy who gets bullied by everyone around him.

If your dream is to empty your bladder on the body of a stranger, then you're in luck - here you have such an opportunity, and right within five minutes of starting. If outright violence is more your style, the game then begins to resemble a vicious playpen, allowing for plenty of gruesome scenes that are twice as funny as they should be. Train your dog to play with severed heads, blast a soccer mom's skull into a million bloody pieces with a shotgun, gun down a crudely rendered Gary Coleman (RIP)—it's everything sociopaths ever wanted in an open-world game.

If parents were angry about the Fatalities that were introduced in the Mortal Kombat series in the 90s, then they would simply be dumbfounded by the modern reboot - both the series and the murders themselves. Mortal Kombat 2011 raised the already low bar for brutality by upping the visuals of the signature Mortal Kombat element with subtle touches like splashes of crimson blood, torn pieces of flesh and sinew, and glistening sensitive innards. Even the most hardcore MK fans didn't know whether to enjoy them or feel dirty.

And not stopping with Fatality, Netherrealm Studios also implemented a super attack in the form of the X-Ray Move. After activation, the high-risk and definitely worthwhile ability launches a very detailed video about crushing bones and destroying the body, a la Three Kings. They reach such levels of brutality - gouged eyes, broken ribs, ruptured spleens, broken spines - that it becomes almost laughable to see fighters not immediately die on the spot, regardless of whether they are mortal or possess the heritage of a demigod.

2. Soldier of Fortune

By modern standards, the gun violence of Soldier of Fortune seems almost positive. But its 3D-rendered brutality was a blast back in 2000, with a level of aggression that could make your stomach turn. And it wasn't just the number of holes your bullets made - thanks to the right GHOUL engine, entire chunks of your opponents could be shot off. And because each NPC was written with individual damage zones, their death animation was annoying, especially when you took headshots.

Toughness is only effective when it’s authentic, isn’t it? When a little man lies on the floor in a pool of blood and gurgles with his shot lungs - this is the right approach, you must admit, you’ll hardly believe that you’re still playing Quake. Soldier of Fortune had an amazing tendency to bring out the sadistic part of anyone's mind, considering what you could do in terms of dismembering the bodies of defeated enemies. And the time spent in the game doing these activities can be attributed to a direct correlation with potential murders in real life.

1.Manhunt

The incredible graphical brutality of Manhunt can only be summed up by one... in a simple word: callous. There is no humor in the variety of secret murders. She never backs down from her dirty, nasty delivery - like a live-action version of a creepy movie. Like her emotionless protagonist James Earl Cash, Manhunt stares at you while she pummels you with an endless hammer of cruelty. Its unscrupulousness makes GTA seem like a thing based on social norms.

What makes it so disturbing is the precision of the animation of the murders. When you hit someone in the skull with the sharp part of a hammer, or blow their head off with a machete, or strangle them plastic bag- it all looks and sounds almost indistinguishable from reality, as far as the technology of 2003 could produce it. The sequel's grace is that its anti-hero, Danny Lamb, is a remorseful schizophrenic; Cash, on the other hand, feels no remorse for his victims. No other game in existence delivers such raw, unsettling violence - and very little of it has anything to do with guns.

As you know, the reincarnation of Doom was released on Friday the 13th. A chainsaw, a rocket launcher, manual finishing moves - you won't be able to take demons alive. Id Software did not strive for a 12+ rating; the game has the atmosphere of a meat market. But Doom is far from the only bloody shooter. And not even the bloodiest! Who took the crown from the founders of the genre? Now we'll find out.

10. Blood

There is blood in the title of this game itself, which was released back in 1997. Despite the sprite monsters and primitive graphics, the violence in Blood was serious: crazy cultists and the monsters they summoned could be stabbed with pitchforks and set on fire with Molotov cocktails. The nostalgia for this game among connoisseurs is off the charts - let's hope that someone smart will take up the revival of the IP.

9. Shadow Warrior (2013)

By the way, about the successful revival of classic games: Shadow Warrior - perfect example. The main character - an exotic Asian version of Duke Nukem - makes greasy jokes, shoots demons with 2 Uzis, and finishes off the survivors with a katana. The enemies of our ninja came from other worlds, but their blood is red and their meat is meaty. The presence of cutting bladed weapons aggravates the effect.

8. Bulletstorm

Everyone knows that Cliff Bleszinski created Gears of War, many know about his work on Lawbreakers, but another of his creations is almost forgotten - which is a pity! In Bulletstorm, you could lift the unfortunate enemy with the help of an anti-gravity superpower, and then the choice is yours - give a tasty kick and send him to the spikes, or shoot from a drill gun and screw the victim into the ceiling.

7. Darkness 2

It would be better if the mafiosi did not offend the main character of this game. As a result of the diabolical pact, he receives tentacles and goes on a vendetta. Then something tougher than traditional hentai begins. Firearms play a secondary role, and tentacles are needed not for pleasure, but to divide the adversaries into components: arms, legs, heads, torsos, etc.

6. Dead Space

Strictly speaking, this is not a shooter at all, but shooting plays an important role in this dark space adventure - as does dismemberment. Isaac Clarke is an engineer in the best traditions of Gordon Freeman, but not an athlete. And necromorphs are too fast. God himself ordered to deprive them of a pair of limbs using a laser cutter in order to reduce the speed of movement to the level of homo sapiens.

5. Fallout 4

You can, of course, found a settlement, plant turnips, build cozy houses and, in general, peaceful life. But sooner or later, super-mutants hungry for human flesh, or raiders jealous of agricultural success, will appear. Then the “Bloody Mess” perk, pumped to the maximum, may come in handy. It will give you a real chance to tear even a large mutant to pieces with just one bullet from a blow rifle. Beauty, and that's all!

4. Gears of War 4

Cliff Bleszinski's main creation could not fail to be included in this rating. Judging by the previous parts of Gears of War, Bulletstorm and the work of Lawbreakers, Mr. Bleszinski considers violence and gore to be almost the cornerstone of shooter design. One of the iconic weapons of the series - assault rifle with an under-barrel chainsaw (Warhammer 40,000?). With all the consequences arising from the abdominal cavities of enemies.

3. Killing Floor 2

Some gourmets called the first part of this franchise the best team PVE shooter, eclipsing even Left4Dead 2. Killing Floor 2 is on Steam in early access, but is already quite popular: it is planned to be released on consoles. In addition, the game will be the first to use Nvidia Flex technology - all for the sake of more realistic meat. True, only PC boyars will be able to visit the improved meat aisles.

Shotguns and chainsaws - all this was already in the previous parts. But hard manual finishing began to shine as the new guiding star of DOOM’s reincarnation. Large individuals of demons weigh several centners - the effects when exterminating them are appropriate. Considering that there can be about 2-3 such adversaries on the screen at the same time, and even a dozen small imps in addition, the action often turns into a bloodbath. Once again, many thanks to the authors for not chasing a 12+ rating and additional profit.

1. Sniper Elite 4

And here is the unexpected leader of the rating. Unlike Dr. Hayden and Olivia Pierce modern science has not yet proven the existence of the Underworld, so demons still belong to the realm of fantasy. To shove the fiend of hell's own heart down his throat - interesting entertainment, but Sniper Elite is really scary with its anatomical details. Well-aimed bullets knock out brains, break bones and pierce lungs, and even in slow motion. Compared to this pathologist course, the colorful demonic porridge will seem like kindergarten.

Any old-school gamer knows that classic fallouts always had plenty of cruelty, and in the second part, with the help of a bozer, you could literally turn the enemy’s body into a real chop. But in terms of the general bloodthirstiness of the series, something was always missing, and the developers of the third part corrected everything. As a result, here you can, for example, shoot off a mutant’s head with a shotgun, and then watch in slow motion as it beautifully flies into the distance.

The main advantage of this slasher is the ability to cut anything at any angle. People, robots, cars, watermelons - it doesn’t matter, the main thing is that the sword never falls into its sheath. Spare parts and limbs fly apart faster than the chopped Olivier ingredients. As a result, the amputation of enemies here is so captivating that you remember the plot only after the final cut... That is, the cut... Ugh, boss.

Mortal Kombat X

The unrivaled leader in gaming violence. You were convinced of this as a child, when you were delighted (or fainted) at the sight of bloody pixels during sparring on Dandy. In the new part, everything is much more nightmarish and bloody - the heroes easily tear out each other’s spines and dismember everyone and everything into small bloody pieces.

In the video game industry, violence is almost always a deciding factor. It attracts players like a magnet. After all, cruelty is a reality. Many generally believe that if there is no blood and violence in a game, then it is meaningless.

So, what are the most brutal and bloody games of the decade? Let's make a ranking of the five best.

Fifth place

Our top of the most violent games opens with the legendary Fallout series. The creators of the project always did not care about the censors - every hit in the groin is accompanied by unprintable comments, every shot to the head smashes the skull into pieces scattered throughout the area, a burst from a machine gun makes a sieve out of enemies and unpleasantly exposes the meat.

In the third part of the series - Fallout 3 - everything is as expected: blood gushes out in fountains, enemies are torn apart, arms and legs fly into different sides(it’s very easy to lose them here). And with 3D, the game has become even more spectacular. A true paradise for lovers of cruelty. It is not surprising that even before its release the game received a huge amount of negative reviews and was banned in many countries (Australia, Germany and others).

Fourth place

In fourth place is a shooter called DeadSpace. At the beginning of the game, everything looks so quiet, peaceful... I just can’t believe that for someone this is the most cruel game. Clean and deserted corridors of the Ishimura spaceship, mesmerizing space (when looking at the windows)... Everything is so calm... until the first necromorphs appear. And here the picture changes dramatically: a bloody mess on the walls, limbs of alien creatures flying in different directions, disfigured corpses, juicy gushing blood and scraps of flesh.

This is how simple engineer Isaac Clarke amuses himself by cutting out the monsters infesting the spaceship with his own hands. And since he does not have military weapons, the fights are quite intense.

Dead Space received the Mature title. The game, thanks to its interesting idea, fully met the expectations of the developers and came quite close to the title of “The Most Violent Game in the World.”

Third place

Well, where would we be today without zombies? They filled cinema screens and monitors. Zombies are an excellent consumable that can be used in almost any game. But in the shooter Left 4 Dead this was done very successfully. The army of the dead goes to the underworld very quickly, splashing blood and spilling guts onto the asphalt. Zombies are everywhere here: they run around the players, developing a dark, unpleasant tan from a Molotov cocktail accidentally thrown into the crowd, and get hit in the jaw with a butt. Or vice versa - the poor survivors are torn to shreds. Moreover, everything is done so realistically that you can see how the muscles of the torn victims hang down.

And yet, in Left 4 Dead, blood is not the main thing. The highlight of the shooter is ready-made microphones, polished tactics, clear commands - completing levels like clockwork. In this case, the game will give you a lot of pleasure.

Second place

Despite the fact that a real scandal erupted around the first part and the addition to the Postal game series, the developers still released a sequel. Moreover, even more perverted and sadistic than the previous ones.

There is a homicidal maniac, there is a city filled with celebrities, terrorists and perverts. And a whole mountain of devices! The rest is in your hands. You can simply shoot those you don’t want, or you can make your craziest fantasies come true: cut with scissors, smear them on the walls with a bazooka, set them on fire, blow off heads with a shovel, etc. Do whatever you want! And no one will even stop you; on the contrary, the developers will throw in the idea of “washing yourself with the entrails of the victims” or something like that. And if you remember the “cat as a muffler”...

Postal 2 is a simulator of a sadist who has built his own Paradise.

Postal is mindless, unceremonious and the most brutal game of recent years. Outraged truth-tellers, dissatisfied censors and players delightedly telling how over the weekend they “cut a whole family into kebabs with scissors”... And yet, Postal 2 takes only second place. Who's first?

First place

The most brutal game is Prototype and its sequel. Despite the fact that the project is still very young, it has already gathered a lot of fans and managed to surprise with its cruelty and lawlessness.

Prototype is a real bloodbath. Your hero is the mutated Alex Mercer. You will create chaos on the streets of Manhattan: throw cars at passers-by, crush mutants in a tank, cut everyone you meet with your claws, like Wolverine, while crunching bones. In general, blood will flow like a river, and the main character will laugh madly and leave limp body parts of city residents on his way. Not everyone can handle such shots. But if the game is still for you, then forget all the nonsense about “reputation”, “philanthropy” and do your dirty work, because no one can punish you!

It is also worth noting a few more violent games that were not included in the rating. For example, Resident Evil 5, where zombies are unfortunate blacks from African villages; or Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2, where the main character shoots crowds of unarmed citizens right at the airport.
