Installing Skype

If you do not have Skype on your computer, then download it for free (without registration) and install it from the official website in order to avoid any misunderstandings:

Download and install Skype for Windows; there are also versions for Linux, Mac OS, mobile, etc. (number 2 in Fig. 1)

You can start by registering for Skype, then install Skype on your computer.

You can, on the contrary, start by installing the Skype program on your computer, and only then go through user registration to get a login (more often they say Skype).

To register a user on Skype, click on the “Registration” button (number 1 in the screenshot - Fig. 1).

We select the option that we intend to use Skype “mainly for private conversations.”

Now let's move on to filling out personal information.

7 – At the bottom of the page you will see the “Skype Login” field, enter your individual name, under which your acquaintances and friends will find you in Skype on their computers. There are quite a lot of users of the program, so finding a free login is not so easy. But this is perhaps the only difficulty when registering with Skype. To do this, use the Latin alphabet (alas, you cannot use Russian letters in this field); it is also acceptable to use numbers.

After you have managed to download the Skype program for free from the official website without registration (or with registration, it doesn’t matter), you can proceed to installing Skype on your computer.

In the folder in which the Skype program files were saved, find the SkypeSetup.exe file and double-click on it. We don’t change anything in the intermediate windows, BUT we pay attention to the checkboxes opposite the offers to install a Yandex bar or something similar. Often, with the installation of a program, a bunch of additional add-ons are installed “trailer”, which not everyone likes, then it’s better to uncheck all the boxes. Click on the “Continue installing Skype” or “Next” button.

In the window that appears, select the language: Russian. If you wish, you can read the license agreement.

Step 4: How to add a contact in Skype?

So, the Skype program is installed, you have completed the Skype registration, and you finally want to make a call. To do this, you need to exchange Skype numbers (more precisely, Skype logins) with the person you need to call on Skype. Each user has their own unique Skype login; there are no duplicate logins.

If by email or in some other way you told another person your Skype (more precisely, your Skype login), and he told you his Skype, then now we add this login to your contact list.

In the Skype program menu, first click on “Contacts”, then on “Add contact” (Fig. 6):
