New Russian pistol boa constrictor. The most powerful and compact pistol was created in Russia (3 photos)

Information has appeared about the completion of state tests of a replacement for the Makarov pistol

The Russian army will soon receive new gun to replace the Makarov. According to experts, this model will become one of the most powerful pistols in the world with its light weight and dimensions.

According to information announced by the new director of the Central Scientific Research Institute of Precision Engineering (TSNIITOCHMASH) Albert Bakov, the stage of state testing of a pistol as part of the development work “Boa Constrictor” has been completed in Russia. This pistol should replace the good old Makarov pistol, which throughout many years was the main personal weapon in Russian army and various security agencies. At the same time, we note that the preparation of a replacement for the PM became known quite a long time ago, and they heard about the “Boa” itself in Russia about two years ago. On at the moment representatives of the press managed to find out some details about the Russian secret development.

Discussions about the need to replace the PM began quite a long time ago. Let us remind you that the well-known Makarov was developed back in 1948, and in 1951 it went into operation. The most common pistol in Russia was designed on the basis of the German Walter PPK for the police. Despite its reliability, simplicity and light weight, the domestic copy turned out to be less powerful. For example, the military Colt used in the United States is significantly superior to the PM in this indicator.

Assignment to develop a new pistol for officers and other representatives of structures who are entitled to personal weapons staffing table, the Russian military department gave at the end of the 20th century. They began to solve the problem immediately, but they could not immediately achieve the desired result and design a suitable sample. Subsequently, problems arose several times with financing the project, and the very view of what the pistol of the future should look like was revised. As a result, the Klimov Research Institute of Precision Engineering managed to complete the task. The pistol was developed under the leadership of chief designer Alexander Borisov. Let us note that in creating a new model of personal weapons for the army, this time they did not copy foreign technologies.

First let's reverse special attention on the pistol design. The sample of the “Boa Constrictor” project turned out to be very pleasant, elegant and even beautiful in appearance. This is due to the extraordinary decision of the management of TsNIITOCHMASH to involve in work on appearance a new pistol was developed by a group of specialists led by Vladimir Pirozhkov, a world-class industrial designer.

Pirozhkov has developed the design of a Citroen car for the head of the French state, as well as several years in the design department of the Japanese automobile giant Toyota. However, throughout recent years specialist worked on the territory Russian Federation. Pirozhkov also collaborates with the Klimov Research Institute on a number of other projects, such as work on the appearance of the equipment of the future.

If everything is clear with the design, which we can evaluate on the photographs available on the Internet, then technical specifications Little is known about the pistol yet. When developing weapons to replace the Makarov, the designers set themselves several main goals, including simplicity, reliability, weight and acceptable power. And here it is important to note that the more powerful the pistol’s cartridge, the more difficult it is to achieve high reliability of the weapon. If you believe the words of representatives of the research institute from Klimovsk, then they managed to solve this almost impossible problem. The size of the new pistol and its weight (890 grams) are not critically superior to those of the Makarov, but at the same time, the Boa Constrictor is significantly superior in power to the American Colt, which, in turn, has more weight and dimensions.

As we noted above, the exact characteristics are still unknown, since they are classified, but it can be assumed that its power will exceed almost all pistols in the world. Such conclusions are prompted by the fact that when designing a new army pistol, the developments of the outstanding Russian designer Pyotr Serdyukov were used, in particular self-loading pistol Serdyukova (SPS).

The “Boa Constrictor” will have one of the most powerful pistol cartridges at the moment - 9x21 millimeters and an effective firing range of one hundred meters. According to available data, from such a distance the power will be enough to penetrate body armor made of titanium plates and Kevlar or steel sheets 4 millimeters thick. Also, the new pistol has the prospect of inheriting one interesting feature, namely the possibility of using cartridges of a different caliber. With a simple replacement of certain elements, Serdyukov’s self-loading pistol could be adapted to use standard nine-millimeter PM cartridges or 7.62 caliber cartridges for a TT pistol. Let us add that the “Boa Constrictor” clip will hold 18 rounds and it will be possible to attach a collimator, sight and flashlight to it.

The Makarov pistol will be replaced by the Gyurza and Boa constrictors.

The heavy-duty Gyurza pistol will enter service with the Russian army.

Pistol SR-1 "Vector", also known as “Gyurza”, developed by the designer of the Klimov arms company “TsNIitochmash” Pyotr Serdyukov, is one of the most powerful 9 mm caliber in the world. This weapon should replace the standard Makarov in the Russian army.

“Preliminary tests have now finished. In the fall we are entering state tests, which we must complete by the end of this year, and next year, if the Ministry of Defense makes an appropriate decision, serial deliveries will begin,” says general manager"TsNIITochmash" Dmitry Semizorov.

The appearance of the "Gyurza" was due to the fact that such weapons began to be supplied to the armies of the world personal protection, like body armor. Accordingly, the need arose for a pistol that could pierce them. First of all, the special services became interested in Serdyukov’s pistol and it entered service with the special forces of the Russian FSB.

Special service fighters were attracted to these individual weapons by their extremely powerful cartridges, which were designed to perform special operations. The new 9x21 ammunition has increased combat characteristics due to the heavy bullet, inside of which there is steel core. It penetrates 6 millimeters thick steel sheet, or 30 layers of Kevlar.

As gunsmith experts say, a pistol with such a cartridge can not only pierce a door, but also pierce an army helmet, body armor, and even stop a car.

A powerful weapon chambered for the 9X21 mm caliber will replace Makarov and Yarygin pistols in the future.

This was reported to RNS by the General Director of TsNIITochmash Dmitry Semizorov.
“Work on the promising Boa Constrictor pistol is in its final stages,” he clarified. Preliminary tests have been completed, the shortcomings identified during them are being eliminated and samples are being prepared for state tests."

The characteristics of the pistol are classified. It is only known that the Boa Constrictor magazine is designed to hold eighteen rounds. It is adapted to be equipped with a laser target designator, a collimator (a device that facilitates sighting), and a flashlight.

The country's oldest gunsmith, Pyotr Serdyukov, is working on the project. Actually, the “Boa constrictor” is a development of the Serdyukov self-loading pistol (SPS), also known as the “Gyurza”, which he had previously created. It is used by the army special forces of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, FSB and FSO. Capable of penetrating class 3 body armor at a distance of 50 meters and further. Sighting range shooting range - 100 meters.

However, “Boa Constrictor,” as Dmitry Semizorov assures, will surpass in its characteristics all existing analogues. The general director of TsNIITochmash hopes to complete state testing of the pistol in 2016.

Submachine gun SR-2 "Veresk".

The development of a submachine gun chambered for the powerful 9x21 SP-10 armor-piercing cartridge began in the mid-1990s on instructions from the Russian FSB. The new submachine gun, created at the Central Research Institute of Precision Engineering in Klimovsk, was first shown in 1999. It received the designation SR-2 (Special Development 2), and the code designation "Veresk".

Currently, the SR-2 and SR-2M "Veresk" submachine guns are in service with the FSB and FSO of Russia, as well as a number of other Russian special services. SR-2 is small in size, but provides significant firepower, in combination with SP-10 armor-piercing cartridges, providing reliable defeat of an enemy protected by body armor at ranges of up to 100 meters.

Submachine gun PP-19 "Bison".

The PP-19 "Bison" submachine gun was developed at the Izhevsk Machine-Building Plant in the early 1990s to arm the Ministry of Internal Affairs. The PP-19 is built with extensive use of components and parts from the Kalashnikov AK-74 assault rifle, in particular, a shortened receiver from the AK-74 with a trigger mechanism and a pistol grip, and a folding stock from the AKS-74 are used.

The original high-capacity magazine was designed, obviously, not without the influence of American Calico submachine guns, but on the PP-19 the magazine is located more conveniently, and at the same time serves as a handguard. In general, the "Bison" is quite convenient to hold and aim, largely due to the full-fledged side-folding butt and the massive, grippy forend - the magazine.

The PM change is ready: the “Boa constrictor” is undergoing its final tests. “Boa constrictor” is designed for the most powerful cartridge of 9x21 mm caliber. Technical specifications are still classified.

9-mm self-loading pistol "Boa", developed for use in various special forces of the FSB, Ministry of Internal Affairs and Internal troops, is preparing for the final state tests. This was announced by the General Director of the Central Research Institute of Precision Engineering (TsNIItochmash) Dmitry Semizorov at the Eurosatory-2016 arms exhibition in Paris.

It is reported that preliminary tests have already been completed. All work on the improved pistol is in its final stages. The developers are eliminating all the shortcomings identified during testing.

According to Semizorov, state tests prototype will be completed this year. And then it will replace the Makarov and Yarygin pistols.

“The Boa constrictor is a pistol of greater power than all existing analogues,” adds Semizorov.

The pistol uses developments gained during the creation and operation of a pistol designed by Serdyukov SPS, which was put into service in 2003.

“Boa constrictor” is designed for the most powerful cartridge of 9x21 mm caliber. Technical specifications are still classified. One thing is known, its magazine will hold 18 rounds. “Boa constrictor” is adapted for fastening a wide variety of additional equipment, including a sight, flashlight, collimator.

Testing of Russia's promising next-generation pistol, known as the Boa Constrictor, will be completed during 2016. "Economy Today" I found out why the “Boa Constrictor” will use 9X21 mm caliber cartridges for shooting, and how it differs from its predecessors.

The General Director of TsNIITochmash spoke about the completion of preliminary tests on the new RNS pistol Dmitry Semizorov. Now, according to him, the identified deficiencies are being eliminated and samples are being prepared for state testing. All characteristics of the new weapon are classified. In addition to the caliber, it is known that the “Boa Constrictor” will receive an 18-round magazine and will be adapted for use. It is expected that its characteristics will surpass all existing analogues.

A researcher of the history of weapons and a specialist in firearms Semyon Fedoseev:

“What is a 9X21 mm cartridge? It already exists and is currently being finalized; it arose in a very interesting way. The question of replacing the Makarov pistol was raised back in the 80s. The Makarov itself, if we talk about domestic self-loading pistols for military purposes, was a second-generation pistol; the TT is considered the first.

In the 80s, requirements for a new generation were developed and development work called “Rook” was opened, during which the task was set to increase the destructive effect. The fact is that Makarov uses a 9X18mm pistol cartridge, which has a very limited penetration effect with a more or less good stopping power. The main task is to quickly incapacitate the enemy, since they are used at short ranges.

The armor-piercing effect there is negligible, so the body armor of the second level of protection, relatively speaking, the police level, calmly protects against a Makarov bullet. Here the developers were tasked with increasing the penetrating action with a high stopping power. The Makarov is, of course, a good thing, an extremely reliable pistol, very convenient and easy to use, but according to these criteria it did not satisfy the military’s requirements already in the 80s.

Then we had perestroika, the collapse of the USSR and the economy, so the work was delayed. Later, changes were made to the requirements for the pistol and additional participants in the competition joined. As a result, in 2004, we immediately adopted three new pistols. The first is a Klimov development, the Serdyukov self-loading pistol (SPS). The second is an Izhevsk model, a Yarygin pistol. And the third is the GSh-18 pistol from the Instrument Design Bureau.

The SPS was designed for the 9X21 cartridge, and the Yarygin pistol and GSh-18 were chambered for the 9X19 cartridge. All weapon variants are third generation pistols, they were created for the task of increased bullet resistance

The Yaryginsky pistol was supposed to be the most popular, the SPS 9X21 was mainly intended for special forces, and the GSh-18 was for those who needed a compact model. But complaints about the operation of Yarygin’s pistol arose, and since the generation of pistols is conditional, when remembering “Boa Constrictor” they say a new generation, without specifying what kind it is. The choice of 9X21 cartridges for it is due to the fact that the new weapon requires a significant increase in lethality.”
