Dacia Stepway. Dacia Sandero Stepway: test drive, photos and technical specifications

All-terrain station wagons are not such a new segment, but at the moment one of its branches is gaining popularity - cars that allow you to get out into nature, but at the same time lack front-wheel drive and are positioned in the budget price segment. The demand for such single-volume cars in Europe is quite high, so it is not surprising that many manufacturers are striving to take their place in this niche.

One of these manufacturers is Renault, and not so long ago its subsidiary, Dacia, presented the Logan MSV with the Stepway prefix. Will the new product be able to become a class leader?

The new Dacia Logan MCV Stepway appeared before the public in March 2017, as part of the international auto exhibition in Geneva. The French single-volume car under the Romanian brand is positioned as an “off-road” station wagon and has received the corresponding external attributes.

Thus, the exterior of the Dacia Logan MSV with the Stepway prefix, relative to the standard modification of the model, is distinguished by increased ground clearance, a body kit and wheel arch linings made of black plastic, bumpers with pseudo-metallic linings, black roof rails, silver side-view mirror housings and a unique design of wheel rims. The main feature of the interior is the armchairs with combined color upholstery.

The list of equipment of the model is notable for the presence of:

  • Light alloy wheels measuring 16 inches.
  • Roof rails.
  • Multifunction steering wheel with four spokes and leather wrapping.
  • Multimedia and entertainment complex with a seven-inch touch screen, Bluetooth, USB connector.
  • Parking sensors.
  • Air conditioning.
  • 12V sockets.
  • Reversing cameras (optional).
  • Navigation systems.
  • Leather upholstery (optional).
  • Sliding luggage curtain.
  • Several metallic body color options.
  • Airbags for driver and front passenger.
  • Power windows front/all doors.
  • Servo drives and heated side view mirrors.
  • Electrically heated front seats.
  • Central locking with remote control.
  • Immobilizer.

Despite its wide popularity in the European market, the Dacia brand is not officially represented in Russia. In this regard, the price of the new Logan MSV Stepway has not been determined. But residents of the Old World can purchase a new product for at least 11 thousand 900 euros.

Specifications

The Dacia Logan MCV Stepway petrol range is represented by 0.9 and 1.0 liter units. The power of the first is 90 forces, the second is 73.

The low-power version is equipped exclusively with a five-speed manual transmission, while the 0.9-liter unit can also be coupled with a five-speed robotic gearbox.

The diesel range consists of 1.5 liter engines. Power output is 75 and 90 horsepower. Transmissions are mechanical or robotic in five stages.

Basic parameters of the model:

The new Dacia Logan MSV Stepway is created on the B0 platform. The front suspension scheme is made according to the McPherson principle, the rear one is a semi-dependent torsion beam.

Owner review

You can find information of interest about the model (videos, various article reviews) on special thematic resources. The mass of data also contains reviews from owners, allowing you to look at the operation of the car from the owner’s point of view.

I switched to Dacia Logan MSV Stepway from the regular Logan MSV. I needed a car with high ground clearance in order to sometimes get out into nature, but I had neither the desire nor the financial ability to switch to a crossover. Therefore, when Stepway entered the market, I did not think twice and chose it without hesitation.

Currently, the mileage on the odometer is 24 thousand kilometers. During this time, the Logan MSV Stepway managed to undergo maintenance at an official dealer, but apart from consumables, I did not change anything else in the car.

Now about impressions. I must admit that with the new car I can drive through country roads more confidently and ignore curbs altogether, because the ground clearance of the Logan MSV Stepway is 205 millimeters (versus 165 millimeters for the regular station wagon variation).

A one and a half liter diesel engine with an output of 90 horsepower pleased me not only with vigorous traction, but also with good efficiency - on average it consumed 5.5 liters of diesel per 100 kilometers.

I also liked the practical and beautiful upholstery of the seats. And, of course, one cannot fail to note the spacious interior and trunk.

The disadvantages include poor sound insulation of the wheel arches, weak headlights (in our time I consider H4 base lamps to be complete anarchism). Another complaint is the clarity of the gear shift of the manual transmission and the tight clutch pedal, but this is more of a nitpick...

Otherwise, the car makes me happy and I hope it lasts for a long time.

Test Drive

Exterior design

Dacia Logan MCV Stepway 2017-2018 model year looks very avant-garde. This station wagon is given this look by “all-terrain” attributes in the form of gray bumper covers, a body kit made of black plastic, black roof rails and a large mesh front air intake.

Short body overhangs coupled with high ground clearance make it possible to confidently storm even massive curbs, as well as move over bumpy terrain without fear of damaging body parts.

Interior

The interior is neatly assembled, but the quality of the finishing itself is not ideal - the plastic is hard and echoing, and the fabric on the seats is a bit rough. There are practically no complaints about the ergonomics, except for the audio system control keys, which are located on the steering column, and not on the steering wheel itself - when turning, it is no longer possible to switch the musical composition to the next one.

The instrument panel is recessed into shallow wells that have a chrome trim. It is easy to read and does not tire your eyes at night due to the soft moonlight.

As for the center console, its architecture is archaic, especially regarding the climate control unit in the form of three rotating washers. However, the color screen of the multimedia and entertainment complex can save the situation.

It fits well into the interior, giving it a touch of respectability. In addition, the screen is capable of projecting images from the rearview camera and indications from the navigation system.

The driver's seat has good lateral support, however, the seating geometry can be overshadowed by the lack of a pronounced lumbar area - when traveling long distances, this can lead to pain in the lower back.

It will be a bit cramped for three people on the second row sofa, but two passengers will feel extremely at ease even with a height of 185 centimeters - there will be enough free space in all directions. The trunk volume of 537 liters pleases with the correct shape of the cargo compartment and high loading height.

Rideability

The 0.9-liter gasoline engine pulls well at medium speeds, but at low speeds it absolutely lacks torque, so it’s very difficult to start from low speeds and without vibration.

The manual transmission fits well with the power unit due to the optimally selected transmission range, but it irritates with the amplitude of the lever strokes and not always clear gear shifts.

The steering wheel, surprisingly, has fairly accurate reactions and is quite informative. But when going through turns, you shouldn’t have any special illusions ̶ the high center of mass of the car provokes high body rolls and diagonal swing, so you need to be careful with the speed on the arc.

The suspension can feel a bit harsh, especially over small potholes. But its high energy intensity allows you to drive over bumps at a fairly high speed without fear of damaging the shock absorber struts.

Results: the new Dacia Logan MCV Stepway will surely appeal to residents of rural areas. This station wagon has good geometric cross-country ability and will not shy away from deep ruts or snowdrifts. And on the asphalt, the car’s habits are understandable and predictable. Add to this a spacious interior, rich equipment and we get the best option for a single-volume car for different occasions.

Photos of the new Dacia Logan MCV Stepway:

The Renault concern produces Sandero models for Europe under its own logo, as well as under the Dacia logo. This is a fairly well-known Romanian car brand in Eastern Europe. In fact, Dacia Sandero and Renault Sandero are twins not only in appearance, but also in configuration, equipment and technical characteristics. The main platform for them was the no less popular Logan sedan.

general information

The production of five-door class B hatchbacks Dacia Sandero and Renault Sandero can be divided into two stages or two generations. Thus, the Romanian model Dacia Sandero first came off the assembly line in 2008. The production of representatives of the first generation of the popular Sandero hatchbacks continued until 2013.

Restyled models of the Romanian manufacturer have been produced from 2013 to the present day, in contrast to the second generation Sandero of Russian production, the production of which started in 2104. These hatchbacks were in high demand due to their efficiency and high level of reliability. The engines that were installed on these cars were positioned by the manufacturer as million-dollar engines. In addition, the suspension that the Sandero models were equipped with was borrowed from Logan and was also highly reliable and efficient. Spare parts are relatively available, and the suspension repair work itself was not very complicated and could be done with your own hands in a garage.

Since the described hatchbacks are developed on the same platform and have many similar indicators and characteristics, the main distinguishing features are the line of power units that are equipped in Russian and Romanian-made models.

Power units

Dacia Sandero models have a greater number of powertrain options. So, if we compare the characteristics of the second generation Sandero models under the Dacia logo and the French concern, then the Romanian brand has a clear advantage in this regard. Both petrol and diesel options are available. At the same time, models running on gasoline are presented with an engine capacity of 1.2 liters, as well as the most economical option with a power unit volume of only 0.9 liters and at the same time having a power of 90 hp. (5250 rpm) and having three working cylinders. This power figure with a small engine volume was achieved thanks to the installation of an innovative low-inertia turbine. Models with 1.2 liter engines have power ratings of 75 hp. and are practically no different from the engines on Sandero models under the French logo.

The second generation diesel Dacia Sandero is represented by two quite popular options. At the same time, the engine displacement is the same and is 1461 cc, but the power ratings are different - 75 and 90 hp. Models are equipped with additional supercharging using turbochargers. Fuel injection is provided distributed with the presence of an injector.

The choice of Renault Sandero in terms of the range of power units is a little more modest and options are offered with petrol engines of 1.2 liters (power 75 hp) and 1.6 liters (power 82 and 102 hp).

Dimensional and operational indicators

The dimensions of Sandero cars produced by Renault and Dacia are slightly different. Thus, the length of the Dacia Sandero is 4057 mm, while for Renault this figure is 4080 mm. The width of the body is also not in favor of the Romanian car. For Dacia Sandero this figure is 1733 mm, and for Renault 1757. The height of the models is completely identical - 1523 mm. The ground clearance is slightly higher for the Romanian car - by 8 mm (163 mm versus 155 mm).

The wheelbase of both the representative of the Romanian automobile industry and the Sandero models under the logo of the French automaker is the same and amounts to 2589 mm. At the same time, the track of both the front and rear wheels of these hatchbacks is also no different and is, respectively, 1497 mm and 1486 mm. The size of the tires used is 185 by 65 R15.

The luggage compartment volumes of the two hatchbacks are 320 liters, and with the rear row seatbacks transformed, this figure increases to 1200 liters.

The fuel tanks are also identical, allowing up to 50 liters of fuel, regardless of the configuration or characteristics of the power unit.

If you compare Renault and Dacia Sandero hatchbacks with the same engine sizes, for example, 1.2 liters, you can observe some difference in fuel consumption readings per 10 kilometers. So, in urban mode this figure is the same and amounts to 7.7 liters, in the suburban cycle it is more economical than Dacia Sandero, which consumes 0.3 liters less, unlike its opponent (5.1 liters versus 4.9 liters). In mixed mode, although not much, the Dacia is also more economical - 5.9 liters versus 6 liters.

Chassis and brake mechanism

The front suspension of the Dacia Sandero, like the Renault of the same model, is independent of the MacPherson type with wishbones. The rear suspension is semi-independent, equipped with telescopic shock absorbers with coil springs.

The braking system includes a disc design on the front wheels of both cars and a drum mechanism on the rear. Despite the absence of ventilation holes on the surface of the disks, their design is considered quite successful and is not subject to overheating. Depending on the selected configuration, Dacia models are equipped with ABS and ESP systems.

Exterior

Unlike the Sandero with the logo of the French automaker, the Romanian-made model is equipped with a slightly different radiator grille shape. The headlights of this model visually completely merge into one line with the grille, thereby forming a single space. Renault Sandero lacks a smooth transition and the lower part of the headlights and radiator grille is separated by a small protrusion. The large emblem appears on both one and the other model.

The shape and design of the headlights is also different. If Renault cars have turn indicators located on the inside of the headlight module closer to the radiator grille, then on Dacia Sandero they are located on the outside. It is worth paying attention to the lower part of the bumper. The sub-radiator grille of Romanian cars is slightly narrower and does not provide a separate edging for fog lights. Otherwise, the cars are identical, and the existing technical differences are insignificant.

Dacia Sandero, 2009

I bought a Daca Sandero three years ago. The car is not very good structurally. On the turning lever there are headlight switches, which often turn on with a light touch when turning on the turn. You have to watch all the time. The clutch and brake pedals are subject to high-frequency vibration from the engine (or gearbox), so that after an hour of driving your feet itch. At speeds above 100 km/h it is unstable (like a “tin can”) due to the high ground clearance, low weight and narrow tires. The reverse gear on the gearbox is in no way protected from accidental incorrect gear shifting, which is generally dangerous. The Dacia Sandero gearshift lever knocks against the limiter when the lever moves all the way to the right or left. The first and third gears in the gearbox are located so close that you turn on the third instead of the first (until you get used to it). The center of the steering wheel is occupied by the airbag so that the instrument panel is difficult to see. To expand the rear seat and increase trunk volume, you have to remove the seat. When starting off, the car seems to “think” and then grabs (something with the electronics). In general, I advise you to buy something else for the same money. Although it depends on who.

Advantages : not a bad motor.

Flaws : there are more of them than advantages.

Dacia Sandero, 2011

I have this car under the Dacia brand. I've been traveling for more than 2 years. Dacia Sandero is easy to use. Consumption - 7 - 8 l/100 km in the city. Didn't service it under warranty - expensive. During operation, I changed the engine oil 2 times, and so far it doesn’t require anything else. The suspension is soft and confidently absorbs potholes. The dynamics are average; on the highway at speeds of about 100 km/h it is difficult to overtake. The brakes are not bad. You can immediately throw away the acoustic speakers - “junk”. Yes, by the way, despite the frankly cheap plastic interior of the Dacia Sandero, there is not a single cricket yet, I myself am surprised. I used to have almost the entire VAZ line, so don’t mess with the Zhiguli, this car is the best alternative to them.

Advantages : energy intensity of the suspension, huge doorways, unpretentiousness, efficiency.

Flaws : the plastic interior is too unsightly, the lack of power steering, the exterior of the rear of the car, the rear part looks a bit heavy.

Dacia Sandero, 2011

The car is 1.5 years old. Mileage 32 thousand. In general, Dacia Sandero has established itself as an unpresentable and simple car. The engine is frankly “dumb” (an innovation of the “90s”), but it is not picky about gasoline, and it “eats” very moderately. The suspension deserves praise - it delicately protects the fifth points on our pits. The Dacia Sandero's interior is quite simple, but does not cause claustrophobia. The trunk is spacious and encourages you to leave everything that does not fit on the balcony. Pechka is a “song” sung on the polar night. The only difference with a sauna is the absence of hot steam and drunk friends. The gear ratios of the fan blades are well selected. Already after the second position, withered leaves and dead mosquitoes from last summer actively fly into the cabin, because There is no cabin filter in the database. At revs above 3000, an auditory hallucination is observed: you want to fasten the rear passengers in case of turbulence when breaking the sound barrier. However, the speedometer needle is glued to the scale very securely. The signal button is slyly hidden from trained fingers. And every time you pass an emergency intersection, it’s easier to open the window, stick your “face” out the window and signal with “native phrases.” I am in love with the car of my own free will and I don’t find an alternative to it due to its harmlessness and altruism.

Advantages : economical and easy to use car.

Flaws : sound insulation.

Dacia Sandero, 2008

Hi all. There was no desire to buy a Dacia Sandero, but after I drove around the village in an Opel Astra and bent the crankcase protection in the place where I flew over the Kalina, the seller said that I needed to avoid such potholes. I told him that in Samara we have these at every traffic light, so such a car would not suit me, and I went to look at the Dacia Sandero. I’ve owned it for 6 months, the first month I was just in shock, as if in a car that’s already 6 years old, nothing rattles. The speed turns on clearly, the radiator fan is not audible at all, the pedals are soft. I only changed the timing belt with a roller and the oil - 4,000 rubles. along with work. Some more stabilizer rubber bands, that's all. There is an autostart, I started it from home at -20 calmly (a friend went to Siberia in a 2011 Renault Sandero, and started it at -35). In the city it’s all right - good visibility, etc., but on the highway the engine is no longer enough. The engine, by the way, is 1.4 liters, picks up 120 km/h easily, and then you need to accelerate it. Well, I mostly drive around the city, so I’m quite happy, we bought the Dacia Sandero to drive, and not constantly repair it like this Kalina. Of the minuses, I will say that there is no air conditioning, there is no steering wheel adjustment. These “dashes” with the fuel level, of course, bothered me - you never know the exact fuel level, so I always pour it with a reserve (92nd), although according to the passport (95th) I need to pour it. I put on good music, the sound in the car is pleasant, the radio picks up perfectly. Regarding space, the Dacia Sandero simply has plenty of it; six of us could comfortably fit in it. In short, I’m quite happy with the car, for this money I could buy an almost new Granta, but no, that’s enough to feed the store (auto parts).

Advantages : reliable. Practical. Convenient. Easy to use. Roomy.

Flaws : “dashes” with fuel level. No air conditioning.

Sergey, Samara

Dacia Sandero, 2009

Dacia Sandero is my first car, bought in 2014, it had 120 thousand miles, from Germany. The car is budget, very pleased with the low fuel consumption. Over 35 thousand kilometers there have been no breakdowns, only consumables have been changed. Of the minuses: the trunk is too small, the sound insulation could be better. Useful things: air conditioning, heated mirrors, Parrot CK3100 speakerphone, rear parking sensors, R16 alloy wheels, immobilizer.

Advantages : price quality. Comfort. Convenience.

Flaws : sound insulation.

Review of Logan MCV Stepway 2017: model appearance, interior, technical specifications, security systems, prices and equipment. At the end of the article - a video panorama of the 2017 Logan MCV Stepway!

Review content:

The products of the Romanian automaker Dacia, thanks to the good price-quality ratio, are very popular among Russian car enthusiasts. At the same time, the engine of the company’s sales in Russia and most of the CIS countries, where the brand’s products are sold, is the Logan model, presented in a classic sedan body and a more practical station wagon.

At the end of February 2017, the company's management announced, and already in March, officially presented an all-terrain modification of the station wagon, called Logan MCV Stepway. The Dacia/Renault management does not hide the fact that they have high hopes for the new product. However, their expectations are quite justified, since the car turned out to be really interesting not only in terms of appearance and set of characteristics, but also in terms of cost. The 2017 Dacia Logan MCV Stepway differs from the regular version by the presence of an off-road plastic body kit, as well as increased ground clearance, which is especially important for practical outdoor enthusiasts.

Logan MCV Stepway exterior

We must pay tribute to the designers who created the appearance of the MCV Stepway, which, despite its relatively low cost, has a truly stylish and attractive appearance. This is largely facilitated by the front part of the car, which received original headlight lamps and a spectacular false radiator grille, which is in perfect harmony with the front bumper, into which a large air intake and a pair of foglights are carefully built.

In profile, the off-road MCV differs from the basic version in the presence of chrome side mirrors, a plastic body kit, roof rails and “Stepway” inscriptions located on the front doors.

The rear part of the station wagon did not disappoint either, where the manufacturer placed an impressively sized tailgate and side lights. The picture is complemented by a neat rear bumper, which received a special plastic trim painted in silver.

Worthy of special attention are the 16-inch Dark Metal Flexwheel alloy wheels, which have received an exclusive design and add a few extra points to the exterior appearance of the station wagon.

The dimensions of the new item are:

  • Length– 4500 mm;
  • Width– 1733 mm;
  • Height– 1570 mm;
  • Distance between front and rear axle– 2634 mm.
Compared to the standard modification, Dacia, also known as Renault Logan MCV Stepway, received an impressive ground clearance of 195 mm, which may well be the envy of some crossovers.

The company's management focuses special attention on the appearance of exclusive body colors - Azurite Blue and Mink, which allow you to instantly identify the Stepway version in city traffic.

Interior of the new MCV Stepway

The interior design of the cabin is designed for four passengers and a driver, and boasts thoughtful ergonomics and high-quality finishing materials. The front panel is made in a minimalist style, and its main advantage is a modern four-spoke multifunction steering wheel, an easily readable instrument panel, as well as an advanced multimedia and information complex MediaNav Evolution, represented by a 7” display with built-in navigation, a USB port and Bluetooth. Directly below the multimedia system is a simple and intuitive climate control unit that can be operated almost without looking.

The seats in the first row have good ergonomics and allow people of very different sizes to sit comfortably.

The second-row sofa can accommodate three passengers on board, and none of them will be constrained by the amount of free space.

As standard, the car is offered with fabric upholstery, but an option with leather trim can be ordered, although there is no practical benefit from this.

The trunk volume in the classic layout offers 573 liters of usable space, while it is possible to fold the backrests of the rear sofa, thereby obtaining as much as 1518 liters of loading space.

Despite the fact that the model “plays” in the class of affordable station wagons, it boasts not only practical materials and good assembly, but also a wide list of equipment already offered in the base, most of which was not available on its predecessor.

Technical specifications Logan MCV Stepway 2017

Potential buyers are offered two power units to choose from:

  1. 0.9-liter three-cylinder 90-horsepower gasoline engine, equipped with turbocharging and a Start-Stop system. Such a motor can be coupled exclusively with a 5-level manual transmission and front-wheel drive. Acceleration from 0 to 100 takes 12.4 seconds, and the “maximum speed” is 170 km/h. Fuel consumption in the combined cycle does not exceed 5.1-5.5 liters per 100 km.
  2. The 1.5-liter diesel engine allows you to develop 90 “horses” similar to a diesel engine, but has more noticeable efficiency, consuming an average of 3.9-4.2 l/100 km, which makes the car an ideal companion on long trips and travels. Acceleration to “hundreds” is just over 13 seconds, and the maximum speed is completely identical to the gasoline version of the station wagon.
Despite the Stepway prefix in the name, the car is offered exclusively in front-wheel drive, so there is no need to talk about serious off-road capabilities.

The car's suspension has not undergone significant changes and has the omnivorous nature characteristic of all generations of Logan. This means that even when driving over medium and large uneven roads, the car will not greatly annoy the fifth points of its passengers. The steering is electrically powered and is highly informative. Effective deceleration is achieved thanks to disc brakes installed on all four wheels of the station wagon.

Safety Logan MCV Stepway 2017

Having reached the safety parameter, it is worth recalling once again that this is a flagship, but a representative of the budget class of cars. However, the Logan MCV Stepway, whose price is only slightly higher than the standard version, offers its customers a minimum gentlemanly set of systems responsible for the passive and active safety of the vehicle. The station wagon's arsenal includes:
  • Anti-lock braking system;
  • ESP system;
  • Assistant when starting to move downhill;
  • 4 airbags (front and side) with the ability to turn off on the front passenger side;
  • Central locking;
  • Cruise control with speed limit function;
  • Seat belts with pretensioning function;
  • Reverse camera and parking sensors;
  • Isofix anchors required for installing child seats.
The company notes that, unlike its predecessor, the car received a more rigid body, which had a positive effect not only on the handling, but also on the safety of the car. Moreover, the body has special deformation zones designed to reduce impact energy in an accident.

Of course, given the cost, you shouldn’t expect a miracle - the Logan MCV Stepway in Russia does not claim to be the safest in its class. However, it has the necessary minimum that every modern car should be equipped with.

Price and equipment Logan MCV Stepway 2017

According to preliminary information, the price of the Dacia Logan MCV Stepway will start at 11.9 thousand euros, which corresponds to 799.7 thousand rubles, while the car will be offered exclusively in the Laureate configuration, which includes the following equipment:
  • Fog lights;
  • Plastic all-terrain body kit;
  • Alloy wheels R16;
  • Multifunctional steering wheel;
  • MediaNav Evolution multimedia system with proprietary navigation and Bluetooth;
  • Rear parking sensors;
  • Assistant when starting to move downhill;
  • Air conditioning;
  • Cruise control with speed limit function;
  • Dynamic stabilization systems and ABS;
  • Folding rear sofa in 1/3 and 2/3 format;
  • Roof rails;
  • Chrome side mirrors;
  • Pairs of front and side airbags;
  • Central locking;
  • Armrest between the front seats;
  • Fabric upholstery of the interior.
As an option, the buyer can equip the station wagon with leather trim, a rear view camera, front door windshields, protective door sills and other little things designed to make the pastime of passengers and the driver more comfortable.

Unfortunately, the appearance of the Dacia Logan MCV Stepway in Russia is not yet expected, which looks somewhat surprising given the popularity of its younger brother in the Dacia Sandero Stepway model range. However, domestic dealers recommend not to despair, since in the near future the issue of car deliveries to Russia may be reconsidered.

Conclusion about the new Logan MCV Stepway 2017

Today it is extremely difficult to estimate the volume of future sales of the Logan MCV Stepway, but we can already say that the car will definitely not be lost among its competitors, most of which have a higher price tag and cannot offer the “off-road” exterior that is so popular today.

Logan MCV Stepway is an extremely interesting, stylish and practical car that offers potential owners a solid set of equipment for its price, an original and modern design, as well as a huge trunk that has no competitors not only in its class, but also in a higher class. Taking all this into account, one can only hope that in the near future the car will reach the domestic market.

The so-called Phase 2, that is, the planned modernization of the Logan family, is still relevant only for Europe. But some of the implemented changes may later appear on Russian cars. For example, how do you like the modified bumpers, headlights and grille? They make Logan and Sandero look fresher and more attractive. The daytime running lights are now LED, and the rear features trendy taillights with four rectangular sections.

The main new thing in the interior is the four-spoke steering wheel, and in Europe they have just now moved the horn button to the steering wheel hub: previously it was located on the steering column lever, although in Russia the second generation Logan/Sandero initially have the usual location of the “beep” button. It is interesting that there are no more buttons on the new steering wheel: under the steering wheel there is still an additional audio system control panel.

And here is another “new thing”, already familiar to Russian owners of Logan-shaped ones: the power window keys were moved to the doors, and the console now has duplicate control buttons for the rear windows. The driver's window has been equipped with an automatic closer, and for an additional fee a right-hand folding armrest attached to the driver's seat is offered. Round ventilation deflectors instead of rectangular ones are a sign of cars for the European market.

An unprecedented option is a rear view camera, which is installed on the Sandero hatchback and Logan MCV station wagon with a multimedia system. But Euro Dacias still don’t have climate control like Russian cars.

There is a new thing under the hood, but for us it is not relevant. The four-cylinder 1.2 engine (75 hp) was replaced by a three-cylinder 1.0 SCe engine of the same power. According to the passport, it is 10% more economical than its predecessor and meets Euro-6 standards. Let us remind you that the attempt to sell Sandero with the 1.2 engine failed: due to low demand, this version was excluded from the Russian range. But in Europe, a liter engine should be fine.

In Europe, the updated Dacia Logan and Sandero cars will begin to be sold in the near future, and the company is very proud that the price has remained at the same level: from 7,790 euros for a hatchback and from 7,990 euros for a sedan. In Russia, the second generation family appeared a year and a half later than in Europe, which means that Phase 2 cars will enter our market with approximately the same delay. Moreover, the main new thing may well be... VAZ engines.
