Detailed description from several sources: "St. Basil's prayer against desecration" - in our non-profit weekly religious magazine.

Saint Basil the Great

Most merciful, imperishable, undefiled, sinless Lord, cleanse me, Thy indecent servant, from the spirit of carnal and spiritual filthiness, and from my inattention and despondency the uncleanness that has come to me, along with all my iniquities, and show me undefiled, Master, for the goodness of Thy Christ , and sanctify me by the invasion of Your Most Holy Spirit: for having aroused from the darkness of the unclean ghosts of the devil, and all kinds of filth, I may be deemed worthy with a clear conscience to open my unclean and unclean lips, and sing the All-Holy your name, Father and Son and Holy Spirit, now and ever and unto ages of ages. Amen.

Prayer against night desecration

Desecration in Orthodoxy is a purely male sin, implying ejaculation (“expiration”) in a dream or sexual intercourse with a woman outside of marriage. Orthodox Christians who have expired in a dream are assigned by their confessor a prayer against desecration, which they read in accordance with certain rules and instructions.

Modern clergy define desecration as any discharge in a dream, including during the copulation of spouses. But church canons, in particular, the Rules of Athanasius the Great, do not consider expiration in marital relations to be sinful (except during times of strict fasting). Moreover, it is clarified that it is not the seed itself that is desecrated, but the desires that provoke its eruption.

There are 6 reasons leading to expiration, of which three are not sinful:

  • from carnal thoughts and lust
  • from arrogance and pride
  • from gluttony and alcohol abuse
  • natural ejaculation (in a dream)
  • from weakness and illness
  • from demonic envy

The first three reasons are considered the embodiment of sin, therefore, the ejaculation caused by them is defilement. The flow of sin is most condemned among the sacred brethren. There are even separate prayers of repentance for them.

Refrain from at a young age It’s hard when monks come to serve the Lord. It takes long and hard work to tame human flesh and not give in to temptation. The devil makes every effort to make young souls show weakness, and tries to get novices to leave the chosen righteous path.

Prayers against desecration are divided into prayers for parishioners and prayers for church ministers.

Men who have sinned, as a result of carnal thoughts, should get up and first read a prayer of worship to the Heavenly King, then read Psalm No. 50 and sing troparia (tone 7). Finish by saying the words “Lord, have mercy” 40 times and making 50 deep bows, asking God for forgiveness.

Then prayers to St. Basil (known as the Archbishop of Caesarea) are necessarily read. Saint Basil described fasting as deliverance from sins, imaginable and inconceivable. He condemned drunkenness as a product of the devil, leading to sinful acts.

The confessor can also assign a layman the reading of prayers, with an appeal to the Most Holy Theotokos or to John Chrysostom. In the texts, the prayer asks for patience, humility, generosity and meekness, and protection from passions.

The priests read a special prayer of repentance to the Lord God.

Deacons and hieromonks talk about the need to perform the sacrament of communion after desecration has occurred:

“If a layman has been tempted by Satan, then it is imperative to receive communion, so that the devil will no longer seduce him into weak flesh. If he has been subjected to the lust of his wife, then he should not receive communion.”

In all cases, men who have experienced expiration in their sleep should, after reading the mandatory common prayer turn to your spiritual fathers for repentance and forgiveness. There is no need to be shy, because human weaknesses are visible and understandable to the Heavenly Father, and his love for his children is limitless.

Prayers against desecration: comments

One comment

Most men do not pay attention to such actions and do not consider it a sin. But a believer is always ready to cleanse his body and soul from any sin, even if simply through prayer, without going to confession. This is especially true before any important actions in your life or major fasts and holidays. I don’t think it’s shameful if a man reads prayers for the forgiveness of this sin; everyone determines the extent of their guilt in life and their actions

Saint Basil's prayer against desecration

Rule against desecration. Prayer from desecration

Saint Basil the Great

Sometimes someone will be tempted in a dream by the work of the devil. And rising from his bed, he bows, saying:

God, be merciful to me, a sinner.

Come, let us worship our King God. (Bow)

Come, let us worship and fall down before Christ, our King God. (Bow)

Come, let us bow and fall down to Christ Himself, the King and our God. (Bow)

Have mercy on me, O God, according to Your great mercy, and according to the multitude of Your mercies, cleanse my iniquity. Above all, wash me from my iniquity, and cleanse me from my sin; for I know my iniquity, and I will take away my sin before me. To You alone have I sinned and done evil before You; for you may be justified in all of Your words, and you will always triumph over Your judgment. Behold, I was conceived in iniquity, and my mother gave birth to me in sins. Behold, you have loved the truth; You have revealed to me the unknown and secret wisdom of Yours. Sprinkle me with hyssop, and I will be cleansed; Wash me, and I will be whiter than snow. My hearing brings joy and joy; humble bones will rejoice. Turn Your face away from my sins and cleanse all my iniquities. Create in me a pure heart, O God, and renew a right spirit in my womb. Do not cast me away from Your presence and do not take Your Holy Spirit away from me. Reward me with the joy of Your salvation and strengthen me with the Lord’s Spirit. I will teach the wicked Your way, and the wicked will turn to You. Deliver me from bloodshed, O God, God of my salvation; My tongue will rejoice in Your righteousness. Lord, open my mouth, and my mouth will declare Your praise. As if you had desired sacrifices, you would have given them: you do not favor burnt offerings. The sacrifice to God is a broken spirit; God will not despise a broken and humble heart. Bless Zion, O Lord, with Your favor, and may the walls of Jerusalem be built. Then favor the sacrifice of righteousness, the offering and the burnt offering; Then they will place the bullock on Your altar.

Good Shepherd, who laid down Your soul for us, who knows the hidden things that I have done, O One Good One, save me with my erring mind, and snatch me from the wolf, Lamb of God, and have mercy on me.

I am burdened with the sleep of despondency, I am darkened by the delusion of sin: but grant me the morning of repentance, enlightening the eyes of my mind, O Christ God, enlightenment of my soul. and save me.

We weave the mind of my damned soul with the darkness of sin and the sweets of life, it gives birth to various passions, and the thought of tenderness does not come. But be generous, O Savior, with my humility, and give me a thought of compunction, so that we may save before the end I will cry out to Your compassion: Lord Christ my Savior, save me, desperate and unworthy.

Just as I fell into the hands of robbers and was vulnerable, so I fell into many sins, and my soul is vulnerable. To whom shall I resort when guilty: only to You, the merciful Physician of souls: pour out Your great mercy on me, O God.

Glory: Yako prodigal son I came and I, Generous: receive me, Father, when I return, as one of Thy hired servant, O God, and have mercy on me.

And now, Mother of God:

Deliver, O Mother of God, from the sins that hold us back: for the Imams have no other hope of faith except You, and the Lord born of You.

Also: Lord, have mercy (40 times).

And 50 bows, with prayer:

God, be merciful to me, and forgive me the prodigal for Your Holy Name.

And whoever endures Your wrath, O Lord; Knowing the multitude of Your bounty, and the abyss of Your love for mankind, I again turn myself to Your mercy, and I cry to You: forgive those who have sinned. For Your most honorable and magnificent name, the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit, is blessed and glorified, now and ever and unto ages of ages. Amen.

Lord, as a man who has sinned, You, as a generous God, have mercy on me, seeing the weakness of my soul. Lord, eat Your grace to help me, that I may glorify Your holy name. Lord Jesus Christ, write me, Your servant, in the book of animals and grant me a good end. Lord my God, even if I have done nothing good before You, grant me, by Your grace, to make a good beginning. Lord, sprinkle the dew of Your grace in my heart. Lord of heaven and earth, remember me, Thy sinful servant, cold and unclean, in Thy Kingdom. Amen.

My Most Holy Lady Theotokos, with Your saints and all-powerful prayers, take away from me, Your humble and cursed servant, despondency, oblivion, unreason, negligence, and all the nasty, evil and blasphemous thoughts from my cursed heart and from my darkened mind; and extinguish the flame of my passions, for I am poor and damned. interpretation

Rev. John Cassian the Roman instructs from what vice the seduction of the night occurs: The quality of thoughts, carelessly guarded during the day, is revealed during the night's rest; and therefore, when any such deception occurs, the guilt of this must be sought not in a dream, but in the negligence of the previous time. This is the discovery of a disease hiding inside, not initially generated by night time, but hidden in the inner folds of the soul, brought to the surface of the skin during sleep, exposing the secret fever of passion that we produced during the day, feeding on harmful thoughts. Since bodily illnesses do not begin when they are discovered in reality, but they arose from negligence in the past, when harmful, deadly juices were produced from the unreasonable consumption of food that is contrary to health.

The packs were cursed by their minds and evil customs, working in sin. Paki, the prince of darkness and passionate sweets, the parent, has created me captivated, and like a humble slave, he forces me to work with desire and carnal desire. And what will I do, my Lord, both to the Deliverer and the Intercessor of those who trust in Thee, if not to Thee I will return and groan and ask for mercy for what I have done; but I am afraid and trembling, but not always confessing, and promising to retreat from the evil ones, and sinning every hour: and not having rendered my prayer to You, my God, I will raise Your long-suffering to indignation. And whoever endures Your wrath, O Lord; Knowing the multitude of Your bounty, and the abyss of Your love for mankind, I again turn myself to Your mercy, and I cry to You: forgive those who have sinned.

Have mercy on me, fallen, give me a helping hand, immersed in the mud of sweets. Do not, Lord, leave Your creation to be corrupted by my iniquities and my sins, but by Your usual mercy and goodness we compel it, deliver from feces and bodily filth and passionate thoughts that always defile my accursed soul: for behold, Lord, as you see, there is no place in it she is clean, but she is all leprous, and her whole body is covered in ulcers. Therefore, O Lover of Mankind, physician of souls and bodies, and source of mercy, cleanse that flow of my tears, pouring them out on me abundantly: pour out Your love for mankind on me, and give me healing and cleansing, and heal my contrition, and do not turn Your face away from For me, and not like a thing, the fire of despair will engulf me, but as You have said, O unfalse God, that there is great joy in heaven for one sinner who repents, do this for me, a sinner, and do not close the ear of Your mercy in the prayer of my repentance. , but open them, and like a censer, correct it before You: weigh the weakness of nature, the Creator, and make it convenient for the creep of youth, and the heaviness of the body, and despise sins, and accept the repentance of those who call upon You with the truth. For Your most honorable and magnificent name, the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit, is blessed and glorified, now and ever and unto ages of ages. Amen.

Second prayer of Saint Basil the Great

Again I was defeated, unfortunate, serving sin with my mind and evil custom. Once again, the prince of darkness and passionate pleasures, the father, has made me a captive, and as a submissive slave, he is forcing me to serve his will and the lusts of the flesh. And what should I do, my Lord, and Redeemer, and Protector of those who trust in You, if I do not return to You again, and groan, and ask for mercy for what I have done? But I am afraid and trembling, so that by always confessing and promising to deviate from evil, but sinning every hour and not fulfilling my vow to You, my God, I will not raise Your patience to indignation. And who will endure Your wrath, O Lord! But knowing Your great compassion and the depths of Your love for mankind, I again entrust myself to Your mercy and cry to You: What have I sinned, forgive me!

Have mercy on me, fallen, give me a helping hand, mired in the mud of pleasures. Do not, O Lord, leave Your creation to be corrupted by my iniquities and my sins; but with Your usual mercy and goodness we urge you to deliver me from the dirt and filthiness of the body and passionate thoughts, which always defile my unfortunate soul. Behold, Lord, as You see, there is no clean place in her, but she is all leprous, and her whole body is covered with ulcers. So, O Lover of Mankind, physician of souls and bodies and source of mercy, cleanse her with the flow of my tears, pouring them out of my eyes abundantly; pour out Your love for mankind on me, and grant me healing and cleansing, and heal my wound, and do not turn Your face away from me, so that the fire of despair does not consume me like brushwood. But as You said, true God, that there is great joy in heaven for one sinner who repents, do so with me, a sinner, and do not close the ears of Your mercy to the prayer of my repentance, but open them, and direct it like incense before Your face. After all, You, the Creator, know the weakness of nature, and the ease of stumbling in youth, and the heaviness of the body; and You do not look at sins, and accept the repentance of those who call You in truth. For blessed and glorified is Thy revered and majestic name, of the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit, now and always, and unto the ages of ages. Amen.
interpretation

Hieromonk Job (Gumerov): In modern practice, any outflow that occurs in a dream is called desecration. However, according to church canons, only such an outflow in a dream that had sinful causes is recognized as desecration (see the 1st rule of St. Athanasius the Great). A person is not considered defiled if he has had a marital relationship. Discharges can occur for various reasons. The main thing is sensual excitement and carnal thoughts. In addition, it can happen: “1) to judge a sincere person, that is, his brother, who is a sinner; 2) from arrogance and pride, and that is also sinful; 3) from overeating and drinking, also decently; 4) it pours out from nature without movement and without dreaming, just like other excesses; 5) from bodily weakness and certain illness; 6) from demonic envy” (Rule of prayer for those preparing for holy communion and daily evening and morning. M., 1893; reprint: M., 1993. P. 137). The reasons that caused the last three cases of expiration are not imputed to the person as sin.

Lord our God, who have sinned in these days in word, deed and thought, as He is Good and Lover of Mankind, forgive me. Grant me a peaceful and serene sleep. Send Your guardian angel, covering and keeping me from all evil, for You are the guardian of our souls and bodies, and we send glory to You, the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit, now and ever and unto the ages of ages. Amen.

Prayer three of St. Basil the Great

Lord our God, everything in which I have sinned today in word, deed and thought, as a good and Lover of mankind, forgive me. Grant me peaceful and serene sleep. Send Your guardian angel, protecting and preserving me from all evil. For You are the guardian of our souls and bodies, and we send up glory to You, the Father, and the Son, and the Holy Spirit, now, and always, and unto the ages of ages. Amen.
interpretation

St. Theophan the Recluse (letter 925): “Concerning night desecrations, one cannot adhere to one rule, because there are different circumstances here. There is an outflow of moisture that is completely unconscious... and other times it happens with consciousness, but without any lust, both bodily and mental, and even with resistance to it in a dream. These two cases do not pose an obstacle to anything... not even to the reception of the Sacraments and the service of the liturgy. It’s enough to be heartily contrite and tell your confessor. But when at the same time there are shameful dreams with lust, consent and desire, then, having confessed this to the confessor, it is better to abstain from what you said, and from everything else that requires special purity, until all the bad things evaporate from the soul and body. - However, the confessor, looking at his face, can resolve everything... for there are extreme needs. “Look in the book of Barsanuphius and John... it seems that both Climacus and Cassian are there.”

Lord, do not deprive me of Your heavenly blessings.
Lord, save me from eternal torment.
Lord, whether I have sinned in mind or in thought, in word or in deed, forgive me.
Lord, deliver me from all ignorance and oblivion, and cowardice, and petrified insensibility.
Lord, deliver me from every temptation.
Lord, enlighten my heart, darken my evil lust.
Lord, as a man who has sinned, You, as a generous God, have mercy on me, seeing the weakness of my soul.
Lord, send Your grace to help me, that I may glorify Your holy name.
Lord Jesus Christ, write me Your servant in the book of animals and grant me a good end.
Lord, my God, even if I have done nothing good before You, grant me, by Your grace, to make a good beginning.

Lord, sprinkle the dew of Your grace in my heart.
Lord of heaven and earth, remember me, Thy sinful servant, cold and unclean, in Thy Kingdom. Amen.

Lord, accept me in repentance.
Lord, don't leave me.
Lord, do not lead me into misfortune.
Lord, give me a good thought.
Lord, give me tears and mortal memory, and tenderness.
Lord, give me the thought of confessing my sins.
Lord, give me humility, chastity and obedience.
Lord, give me patience, generosity and meekness.
Lord, plant in me the root of good things, Thy fear in my heart.

Lord, grant me to love You with all my soul and thoughts and to do Your will in everything.
Lord, protect me from certain people, and demons, and passions, and from all other inappropriate things.
Lord, consider that you do as you will, that your will be done in me, a sinner, for blessed are you forever. Amen.

Prayer Four, St. John Chrysostom

Lord, do not deprive me of Your heavenly blessings.
Lord, deliver me from eternal torment.
Lord, whether I have sinned in mind or in thought, in word or in deed, forgive me.
Lord, deliver me from all ignorance, oblivion, frivolity, and petrified insensibility.
Lord, deliver me from every temptation.
Lord, enlighten my heart, darkened by evil desires.
Lord, I, as a man, have sinned, but You, as a generous God, have mercy on me, seeing the weakness of my soul.
Lord, send Your grace to help me, so that I glorify Your holy name.
Lord Jesus Christ, write me, Your servant, into the book of life and grant me a good end.
Lord, my God, although I have not done anything good before You, allow me, by Your grace, to make a good beginning.
Lord, sprinkle the dew of Your grace in my heart.
Lord of heaven and earth, remember me, Your sinful servant, foul and unclean, in Your Kingdom. Amen.

Lord, accept me in repentance.
Lord, don't leave me.
Lord, don't lead me into trouble.
Lord, give me good thoughts.
Lord, give me tears, and the memory of death, and contrition.
Lord, give me the thought of confessing my sins.
Lord, give me humility, chastity and obedience.
Lord, give me patience, generosity and meekness.
Lord, put in me the root of goodness - Your fear in my heart.
Lord, grant me to love You with all my soul and thoughts and to fulfill Your will in everything.
Lord, protect me from certain people, and demons, and passions, and from any other inappropriate matter.
Lord, I know that You do everything according to Your will - may Your will be done in me, a sinner, for You are blessed forever. Amen.
interpretation

John Climacus (Ladder, verse 27): “I learned that the demon of despondency precedes the demon of fornication and prepares the way for him, so that by strongly relaxing and plunging the body into sleep, he will enable the demon of fornication to produce defilements in the sleeping person, as if in reality.”

And deliver me from many and cruel memories and enterprises, and free me from all evil actions. For Thou art blessed from all generations, and glorified is Thy most honorable name forever and ever. Amen.

Fifth prayer to the Most Holy Theotokos

My Most Holy Lady, Mother of God, with Your saints and all-powerful prayers, drive away from me, Your humble and unfortunate servant, despondency, oblivion, unreason, negligence and all the nasty, evil and blasphemous thoughts from my poor heart and from my darkened mind, and extinguish the flame of my passions, for I am wretched and unhappy. And deliver me from many harmful memories and intentions, and free me from all evil deeds, for all generations bless You and Your revered name is glorified forever and ever. Amen.
interpretation

John Climacus (Ladder, verse 15): “Let the memory of death fall asleep and rise with you, and together with the Jesus Prayer, for nothing can give you such a powerful intercession during sleep as these doings. ... Having thrown ourselves onto the bed, let us be especially sober; because our mind without a body then fights with demons (for the demon of fornication, much more than others, looks out for the time when a person physically cannot strengthen himself against him by prayer; and then this unclean one attacks us); and if he is voluptuous, then he willingly becomes a traitor.” “Do not allow yourself during the day to think about the dreams that were in your sleep, for the demons have the intention of desecrating us who are awake with dreams.”

And now, unworthy of me, Thy servant (name), grant me, through Thy mercy, to serve Thy most pure Mysteries. And first, cleanse my soul and body from all filth, and forsake every sin, voluntary and involuntary, that I have sinned all the days of my life, in deed, word and thought, in days and in nights, and until this hour. And grant me, Lord, this terrible service of the heavenly Orders, and the communion of Your most pure Mysteries, not for judgment or condemnation, but for the forgiveness of sins, and the coming of the Holy Spirit, and the life of ever-present joy, which You have prepared for Your true minister. Save me, Lord Almighty, from all sin and malice, keep me undefiled and blameless from all leprosy of the opposite devil, and grant me, Lord, to serve You in honor and righteousness until the last day and hour and my death.

For You are the Blesser and the Sanctifier of all things, O Christ our God, and to You we send up glory with Your Beginning Father and with Your Most Holy and Good and Life-giving Spirit, now and ever and unto the ages of ages. Amen.

Prayer from desecration

Lord our God, one good and loving of mankind, one holy and resting among the saints! You showed to Your supreme Apostle Peter by vision that nothing that You created for food and enjoyment of people should be considered foul or unclean, and through chosen vessel Yours, the Apostle Paul gave the commandment that for the pure everything is pure: You Yourself, the Most Holy Master, by invoking Your terrible and most pure name, and by the sign of the Holy and Life-giving Cross, bless and cleanse me, Thy servant (name), defiled by all evil spirit, from all daydreaming and poisonous reptiles, from all lawlessness and from all deception, from all sorcery and from all vanity, and from all illness and disease, and from all hostile villainy of the devil.

And now, by Your mercy, grant me, Thy unworthy servant (name), to serve Thy most pure Mysteries. And first, cleanse my soul and body from all filth, and forgive every sin, voluntary and involuntary, which I have sinned all the days of my life, in deed, word and thought, day and night, and until this hour. And grant me, Lord, to perform this terrible service in the presence of the Heavenly Regiments, and to partake of Your most pure Mysteries, not in court or condemnation, but in the forgiveness of sins, and in the coming of the Holy Spirit, and to life in eternal joy, which You have prepared for Your true servants. Save me, Lord Almighty, from all sin and malice, save strangers from filth and vice from all leprosy of the hostile devil; and grant me, Lord, to serve You in holiness and righteousness until last day, and the hour, and my death.

For You bless and sanctify everything, Christ our God, and we send up glory to You with Your Beginning Father and with Your Most Holy and Good and Life-giving Spirit, now and always and unto the ages of ages. Amen.
interpretation

The Holy Fathers described the degree of defeat by fornication, as well as signs of recovery from it and the degree of strengthening in the virtue of chastity. Based on these signs, a Christian himself can check himself, get to know himself, as if diagnose his soul for the degree of purity in which it resides, and draw appropriate conclusions. “If a sign of purity is not to experience lustful movements even in sleepy dreams; then, of course, the extreme degree of lust will be - to endure the outflow even in reality from just thoughts and memories.” “One can set a sign and measure of the perfection of acquired purity if, when we are resting or relaxing in deep sleep, no seductive image arises, or if one arises, it is not strong enough to arouse any lustful movements. For such a movement, although not fully charged with sin, nevertheless serves as a sure sign that the soul has not yet reached perfection, and shows that passion has not yet been completely expelled when dreamy images manage to produce this kind of outrage.”

The righteous of the Old Testament must adhere to certain rules purity, which guaranteed them compliance with the commandments of God. These are not simple hygienic rules, but ritual ones related to the spiritual health of a person.

After the death of Christ, the righteous of the New Testament were released from the strict observance of the rituals of the Old Testament, but baptized people should still adhere to them, since they help to maintain a pure spirit and conscience and grow spiritually.

Expiration - what is it?

The prayer rule against defilement was created so that men who violated such a ritual law of purity could ask for forgiveness from the Lord and cleanse themselves.

Prayer rule against desecration

IN Old Testament considered desecration:

  • touching the dead;
  • fornication or incest;
  • murder;
  • worship of pagan gods.

David wrote that communication with sinful people and being in a pagan society makes a person unclean. Moses in his law prescribed certain ritual actions, which returned purity to man.

Prayer of Basil the Great against desecration

Most merciful, incorruptible, undefiled, sinless Lord, cleanse me, Thy unworthy servant, from all filthiness of the flesh and soul, and from my inattention and despondency the uncleanness that has come to me, along with all my other iniquities, and show me undefiled, O Master, for the goodness of Thy Christ , and sanctify me by the invasion of Your Most Holy Spirit: for having awakened* from the darkness of the unclean ghosts of the devil and all kinds of filth, I may be deemed worthy with a clear conscience to open my unclean and unclean lips, and sing Thy all-holy name, the Father, and the Son, and the Holy Spirit, now and ever , and forever and ever. Amen.

Important! If the problem is regular and serious, then you should read prayer rule, which includes opening prayers, psalms, troparia and prostrations.

Prayer rule of Basil the Great

The prayer rule was created by Basil the Great or the Archbishop of Caesarea, who during his lifetime was engaged in the instruction of sinners. His goal was to help monks in monasteries cope with the lustful desires that befell them as a result of vows of celibacy.

Saint Basil the Great

As you know, men may experience desires and thoughts from abstinence that lead to masturbation. To cleanse themselves, monks were asked to read prayers and the rule of Basil to gain spiritual purity.

Today, handjob is also common among the laity, so modern theologians distinguish two types of prayer:

  • for church ministers;
  • for parishioners or laity.

Men are advised to consult with their confessor; he may prescribe reading the prayer of Vasily or the entire rule. If the deed was committed deliberately before Communion, then the man is excommunicated from the Sacrament. In case of sin due to illness or in a dream, Communion can be taken.

The prayer rule is found in the Canons and consists of several prayers to St. Basil, John Chrysostom, the Mother of God, as well as psalms, troparions and dismissal.

Prayer Rule

Read only with the blessing of the confessor.

Immediately after sleep:

God, be merciful to me, a sinner.

Then the beginning is usual:

Heavenly King, Comforter, Soul of truth, Who is everywhere and fulfills everything, Treasure of good things and Giver of life, come and dwell in us, and cleanse us from all filth, and save, O Good One, our souls.

Holy God, Holy Mighty, Holy Immortal, have mercy on us. (Three times)

Most Holy Trinity, have mercy on us; Lord, cleanse our sins; Master, forgive our iniquities; Holy One, visit and heal our infirmities, for Thy name's sake.

Lord have mercy. (Thrice)

Glory to the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit, now and ever and unto ages of ages. Amen.

Our Father, who art in heaven! Hallowed be thy name, let him come Your kingdom, Thy will be done as it is in heaven and on earth. Give us this day our daily bread; and forgive us our debts, just as we forgive our debtors; and do not lead us into temptation, but deliver us from the evil one.

Lord have mercy. (12 times)

And troparia, tone 7:

Good Shepherd, who laid down Your soul for us, who knows the hidden things that I have done, O One Good One, save me with my erring mind, and snatch me from the wolf, Lamb of God, and have mercy on me.

Weighed down by the sleep of despondency, I am darkened by the delusion of sin: but grant me the morning of repentance, enlightening the eyes of my mind, O Christ God, enlightenment of my soul, and save me.

Glory to the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit.

Like the prodigal son came and I, Generous: receive me, Father, when I return, as one of Thy hired servant, O God, and have mercy on me.

And now and ever and unto ages of ages. Amen.

Theotokos: Deliver, O Mother of God, from the sins that hold us back: for the imams have no other hope of faith except You, and the Lord born of You.

Lord have mercy (40 times).

Then 50 prostrations with prayer:

God, be merciful to me, and forgive me the prodigal for Your Holy Name.

Prayer 1, Saint Basil the Great

The packs were cursed by their minds and evil customs, working in sin. Paki, the prince of darkness and passionate sweets, the parent, has created me captivated, and like a humble slave, he forces me to work with desire and carnal desire. And what will I do, my Lord, and the Deliverer and Intercessor of those who trust in You, if not to You I will return and groan and ask for mercy for what I have done; but I am afraid and trembling, but not always confessing, and promising to retreat from the evil ones, and sinning every hour: and not having rendered my prayer to You, my God, I will raise Your long-suffering to indignation. Do not, Lord, leave Your creation to be corrupted by my iniquities and my sins: but by Your usual mercy and goodness we compel you to deliver from feces and bodily filth and passionate thoughts, which always defile my accursed soul: for behold, Lord, as you see, there is no place in it she is clean, but she is all leprous, and her whole body is covered in ulcers. For yourself, O Lover of mankind, physician of souls and bodies and source of mercy, cleanse that flow of my tears, pouring them out on me abundantly: pour out Your love for mankind on me, and give me healing and cleansing, and heal my contrition, and do not turn Your face away from me , but not like a thing, the fire of despair will engulf me: but as You have declared, O unfalse God, that there is great joy in heaven for one sinner who repents, do this also for me, a sinner, and do not close the ear of Your compassion in the prayer of my repentance; but open them, and like a censer, correct it before You: weigh the weakness of nature to the Creator, and make comfortable the creep of youth, and the heaviness of the body, and despise sins, and accept the repentance of those who call upon You with the truth. For Your most honorable and magnificent name, the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit, is blessed and glorified, now and ever and unto ages of ages. Amen.

Prayer 2, his

Most merciful, imperishable, undefiled, sinless Lord, cleanse me, Thy unworthy servant, from all filthiness of the flesh and soul, and from my inattention and despondency the uncleanness that has come to me, along with all my iniquities, and show me undefiled, O Master, for the goodness of Thy Christ , and sanctify me by the invasion of Your Most Holy Spirit: for having aroused from the darkness of the unclean ghosts of the devil, and all kinds of filth, I may be deemed worthy with a clear conscience to open my unclean and unclean lips, and sing Thy all-holy name, the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit, now and ever and ever forever and ever. Amen.

Prayer 3

Lord our God, who have sinned in these days in word, deed and thought, as He is Good and Lover of Mankind, forgive me. Grant me a peaceful and serene sleep. Send Your guardian angel, covering and keeping me from all evil, for You are the guardian of our souls and bodies, and we send glory to You, the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit, now and ever and unto the ages of ages. Amen.

Lord, protect me from certain people, and demons, and passions, and from all other inappropriate things.

Lord, consider that you do as you will, that your will be done in me, a sinner, for blessed are you forever. Amen.

Prayer 5, to the Blessed Virgin Mary

My Most Holy Lady Theotokos, with Your saints and all-powerful prayers, take away from me, Your humble and cursed servant, despondency, oblivion, unreason, negligence, and all the nasty, evil and blasphemous thoughts from my cursed heart and from my darkened mind; and extinguish the flame of my passions, for I am poor and damned. And deliver me from many and cruel memories and enterprises, and free me from all evil actions. For Thou art blessed from all generations, and glorified is Thy most honorable name forever and ever. Amen.

Then

We magnify Thee, the most honorable Cherub and the most glorious without comparison, the Seraphim, who gave birth to God the Word without corruption.

Glory to the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit, now and ever and unto ages of ages. Amen.

Lord have mercy (three times).

God bless.

Lord Jesus Christ, our God, prayers for the sake of Your Most Pure Mother and all the saints, save me, a sinner.
