Seven Archangels of God. Holy Trinity of Archangels: Michael, Gabriel and Raphael

Depending on the religious tradition, there can be from four or seven to countless numbers.

Archangels are not associated with any particular religious tradition; they help any person, regardless of his religious or non-religious present or past. They can be close to each of us, alone, at the same time, because they are not subject to the limitations of space and time. Just imagine what your life would be like if you were in different places at the same time! On this occasion, the angels say that we humans do not possess these properties only because we do not believe in it. Perhaps with their help we will soon learn to overcome such limitations.

It was not for nothing that I dwelled on this point: many people are worried that if they turn, for example, to someone for help, they will thereby distract him from “more important matters.” That's how easily we project our human limitations! The truth is that archangels and ascended masters can be with any person who needs their support, and at the same time they experience unique experiences with each of them. Remember that you can always mentally turn to them for help, and at the same time you are not required to know any .

The exact number of archangels depends on the belief system you adhere to or which holy book you follow. The Bible, the Koran, the Testament of Levi, the Kabbalah, 3 Enoch, and the Dionysian manuscripts present and describe different names and numbers of archangels.

Suffice it to say that there are many of them, but in my works and seminars I usually highlight the archangels: Michael, Raphael, Uriel and Gabriel. Interestingly, recently the other archangels began to encourage me to involve them in my work and participation in my life; that's why I included it in this book brief characteristics and some other archangels, as well as the area in which they can provide assistance.

I made the distinction by gender based on personal communication with them. Since archangels do not have a physical body, their gender can only be determined based on the characteristics of their energies and specialization of activities. For example, Archangel Michael, who has strong protective properties, is undeniably male, while Yophiel, who is focused on beauty, is most likely female.

based on materials from the book: Doreen Virtue - “How to Hear Your Angels.”

Among the nine angelic ranks, the archangels occupy the eighth place, entering the third hierarchy along with the principles and the angels themselves. The word "" literally means "".

The Bible contains direct references to archangels. One of them is in the first letter of the holy Apostle Paul to the Thessalonians. The Apostle speaks of the coming second coming of Jesus Christ, which will take place “with the voice of the archangel and the trumpet of God.” The Epistle of Jude mentions a specific archangel named Michael. The Bible does not name the names of other archangels, but in the book of the prophet Daniel the Archangel Michael is spoken of as “one of the first princes,” therefore, he is not the only archangel.

The main task of the archangels is to preach to people about God and convey his prophecies. They help people to know and assimilate the will of God and strengthen their faith.

The most famous of the archangels is the already mentioned Michael. He is called the “archistratigus,” i.e. a military leader, is depicted in military armor, with a spear and sword, and at his feet is a defeated man, personifying Satan, who rebelled against God. Archangel Michael is considered the patron saint of warriors.

Another famous archangel is Gabriel, the bearer of good news that gives people hope. He explained the meaning of the visions sent to the prophet by God. The main prophecy that Daniel heard from Gabriel concerned the coming birth of the Savior. The Archangel again announced this joyful event, when there was very little time left before it - he appeared to the Virgin Mary and said that she was destined to become the Mother of God. Christians call this event the Annunciation.

Archangel Raphael is mentioned in the non-canonical book of Tobias and is known as a healer and comforter. It is he who heals Tobias’s father and bride from serious illnesses. In all images, Raphael usually holds a cup in one hand and in the other a trimmed bird feather, which in ancient times was used to lubricate wounds.

The Archangel Uriel is mentioned in the Book of Ezra. His name is translated as “fire of God” or “light of God”; he appears to be an enlightener of lost souls and the ignorant, and inflames human hearts with love. Uriel is considered the patron saint of scientists.

The Third Book of Ezra speaks of the archangel Selathiel, whose "God's" This archangel eternally prays to God for people, and encourages people themselves to pray. It was this archangel who appeared to Hagar, who was expelled by Sarah into the desert along with her son Ishmael. Praying in deep sadness, the unfortunate woman heard the voice of the archangel: “The Lord has heard your suffering.”

Other archangels are also known from legends and biblical texts. But no matter which of them we are talking about, their images are always associated with hope for man, the realization that God will never abandon his creation to the mercy of fate.

Archangel(ancient Greek Ἀρχάγγελος from ancient Greek ἀρχι- - “chief, senior” + ancient Greek ἄγγελος - “messenger, messenger, angel”) - in Christian doctrine one of the highest categories (ranks) of angels. In the system of the angelic hierarchy of Pseudo-Dionysius the Areopagite, this is the eighth of the nine ranks of angels. In the canonical books of the Bible, only Michael is directly named as an archangel, but, according to the traditions of the Church, there are eight archangels.

In the Orthodox Church there is mention of eight archangels: Michael, Gabriel, Raphael, Uriel, Selathiel, Jehudiel, Barachiel and Jeremiel. Sihail, Zadkiel, Samuel, Jophiel and many others are also known.

The celebration of the Council of the Archangel Michael and other ethereal heavenly powers is celebrated in the Orthodox Church on November 8 (21). Its establishment is associated with the decision of the Council of Laodicea, which took place several years before the First Ecumenical Council and condemned as heretical the worship of angels as creators and rulers of the world.

Classifications

According to the book "About celestial hierarchy» Pseudo-Dionysius the Areopagite (5th - early 6th centuries), archangel - the name of the second rank in the third, lowest rank of the angelic hierarchy (1st rank - angels, 2nd - archangels, 3rd - beginnings). Seven archangels according to the apocrypha “Book of Enoch” (2nd century BC):

  • Michael is the main archangel,
  • Gabriel is the messenger of divine revelations and the leader of the spirits who help people,
  • Uriel - ruler of the heavenly bodies, guardian of Paradise,
  • Raguel - archangel of justice and legality,
  • Jeremiel - watcher of the resurrection of the dead,
  • Sariel is the ruler over the souls of the sons of men, and also oversees sinners.

archangels.

Seven angels are also mentioned in the book of Tobit: “I am Raphael, one of the seven holy angels who offer the prayers of the saints and ascend before the Glory of the Holy One” (12:15). And in the Apocalypse: “the seven stars are the Angels of the seven churches” (1:20).

The doctrine of the council of seven Archangels with specific names: Michael, Gabriel, Raphael, Uriel, Selaphiel, Jehudiel, Barachiel, appears in the Middle Ages in the 15th century, this description was made by the Franciscan Portuguese monk Amadeus Mendes da Silva (Amadeus of Portugal, †1482), names he learned from his own revelation. In the Middle Ages, the cult of seven angels appeared in the Catholic Church and churches were built in Rome, then in Naples. Until the end of the 17th century, this teaching about a council of 7 archangels with specific names in Orthodoxy, both in iconography and in hagiography (Great Menaions of St. Macarius of the 16th century, Lives of the Saints Tulupov mid-17th century) - no. The teaching with names from the revelation of Amadeus of Portugal was included in the lives of the saints by Demetrius of Rostov under the date March 26 in the 1700 edition. In the Catholic Church itself, the doctrine of seven angels, with specific names, was rejected and returned to the worship of only three angels: Michael, Gabriel and Raphael, only to those names that were allowed to be venerated by the Roman Council of 745 under Pope Zechariah. Only these three names are in the canonical books of the Bible. The Council of Rome in 745 determined: Nos autem, ut a vestro sancto apostolatu edocemur, et divina tradit auctoritas, et non plus quam trium angelorum nomina cognoscimus, id est Michael, Gabriel, Raphael: alioqui de mysterio sub obtentu angelorum demonum nomina introduxit. (“But we, as the holy apostolic ministry teaches us and gives us Divine authority, do not know more than three names of angels, that is, Michael, Gabriel, Raphael: otherwise the secret of the existence of the names of angels and demons would be revealed.”)

The names Barachiel and Jehudiel are not in the Holy Tradition of the Church; these names are from the revelation of Amadeus of Portugal. The first name, Barachiel, is found in the Jewish apocrypha in the “Book of Heavenly Palaces” (between the 2nd and 8th/9th centuries) - chapter 14, 17: “Barakiel (Barachiel), who controls the lightning,” but Yehudiel is a name that does not found nowhere else except the “revelation” of Amadeus.

If you believe solely in the words of the Bible, then Michael is an archangel, Gabriel is an angel (according to Orthodox hymnography, he is an archangel), Raphael is an angel. According to the Third Book of Ezra, Uriel is an angel (not an archangel or cherub or seraphim), and Jeremiel is an archangel.

Kabbalah reveals the correspondence between the hierarchy of angels, forefathers and sefirot:
Michael - Abraham - chesed, Gabriel - Isaac - gevurah, Raphael - Jacob - tipharet.

Angel(ancient Greek ἄγγελος, angelos- “messenger, messenger”), in Abrahamic religions - a spiritual, ethereal being that communicates the will of God and has supernatural powers. Traditionally, an angel is depicted as an anthropomorphic creature with wings on its back.

Etymology of the name

The Greek word ἄγγελος is “angelos”, a direct translation of ancient Hebrew. מלאך‎ - “mal’akh” with the same meaning, from the archaic root of ancient Hebrew. לאכ‎ - “to send”, attested [ source not specified 1707 days] in Ugaritic language; directly[ source not specified 1707 days] the Arabic word ملاك‎ is borrowed from Hebrew malak.

In the Scriptures of the Abrahamic Religions

In the Old Testament

According to the teachings of the Orthodox Church, the tempting serpent (Gen. 3:1-2,4) is none other than the devil - a fallen angel, since

The account of the Fall in the Bible is soon followed by a mention of a cherub who remained faithful to God:

Some theologians in Christianity and Judaism were of the opinion that (Genesis 6:2-4) speaks of angels who once married people, giving birth to giants (nephilim). To do this, they incarnated into a human body and descended to earth:

These views are set forth in the apocryphal books of Enoch and Jubilees; this opinion was shared by many early Christian authors (Justin the Philosopher, Irenaeus, Athenagoras, Clement of Alexandria, Tertullian, Ambrose, etc.). Currently, these views are also held by Jehovah's Witnesses. Most of the Church Fathers famous for their exegetical works (John Chrysostom, Ephraim the Syrian, Theodoret of Cyrus, Cyril of Jerusalem, Jerome of Stridon, Augustine, etc.) were of the opinion that the “sons of God” here meant the pious Sethites (descendants of Seth).

There are also versions based on (Jude 1:6) that the angels mentioned here are the same ones - “who did not preserve their dignity, but left their home” and for this were punished by God “in eternal chains, under darkness”

In the New Testament

In most translations of the Bible, when mentioning the fallen and all kinds of angels who sinned (those who opposed God), they use a lowercase letter, and when mentioning the holy Angels, they use a capital letter.

In the Koran

Belief in angels is an integral part of the Muslim faith (Al-Baqarah 2:177), it is one of the pillars of the Muslim faith.

In Abrahamic religions

In Judaism

Among the seven angels of the Jewish religion, only three are named in the Tanakh (Old Testament) by name: Michael, Gabriel and Raphael. The other four, Oriel, Reguel, Sariel and Jerahmiel, are mentioned in non-canonical literature (Book of Enoch). It is believed that four angels stand before the throne of God and guard the four cardinal directions: Michael, Gabriel, Oriel and Raphael.

In Kabbalah

In Kabbalah, the number of angels (Hebrew) מלאכא ‏‎, malakha) there are from 100 thousand to 49 million. The hierarchy of angels is revealed in accordance with the tree of 10 Sefirot and the system of 5 worlds.

Angels help on the path to the Almighty through palaces (heichalot) and worlds (olamot):

  1. Material, the physical world in which we live.
  2. A world that is commanded 10 angelic troops. Each angel has its own name. They are led by an angel highest rank Metatron.
  3. World of light, which opens from the highest, God's world.
  4. God's peace, which is combined with the female hypostasis of God Shekinah.

Each of the 10 sefirot on the tree of life corresponds to an angel and an angelic order. These are the main conductors of divine energy. Each blossoms like a luminous rose, each petal revealing a winged outline. The names of the sephiroth are abstract: affirmation, beauty, eternity, beauty, strength, mercy, knowledge, wisdom, understanding and crown, crown. They are located in a pyramid facing downwards. There is an angel at the base sandalphone, this is a guardian angel.

The book of Bahir says that from the Creator man received power over the angels, who are hidden in the Book of Genesis ( Bereshit) under the name of the birds of the air (Gen. 1:26).

God has eight main angels, they are considered His “incarnations”:

Above all these creations rises the angel of prayerful reflection about God. The path of prayerful reflection leads him to an ever more uplifting possibility of love, which is ultimately achieved by the realization that every life is holy, that every life is God and the transmission of love. Whatever we do in the divine ecstasy of prayer or prayerful contemplation represents an act of creation. And only such an act in God and through God creates new angels.[ source not specified 955 days] The highest creation of all are the commandments of the Torah, study, knowledge of the Torah, prayer and repentance. Each commandment that a person performs is not only an act of spiritual contemplation, sacred in itself, but it is also an act of transformation of the material, physical world.[ source not specified 955 days]

According to Jewish tradition, angels are male creatures and do not have wings.[ source not specified 955 days]

In Christianity

“Angel of Rublev” (miniature of the Khitrovo Gospel)

According to Christian teaching, all angels are ministering spirits. They were created by God before the creation of the material world, over which they have significant power. There are significantly more of them than all people. The purpose of angels is to glorify God, to embody His glory, to direct and embody grace for the glory of God (therefore they are a great help to those who are being saved), their destiny is to glorify God and fulfill His instructions and will. Angels, just like people, have a mind, and their mind is much more perfect than a human one. Angels are eternal. Most often, angels are depicted as beardless young men, in light deacon’s (symbol of service) vestments (surplice, orarion, bridles), with wings behind their backs (symbol of speed) and with a halo above their heads. However, in visions, angels appeared to people as six-winged (when Angels are not similar to humans in appearance, then their wings are like flowing streams of grace), and in the form of wheels dotted with eyes, and in the form of creatures with four faces on their heads, and as swords fiery rotating ones, or even in the form of fancy animals (sphinxes, chimeras, centaurs, pegasi, griffins, unicorns, etc.).

In the angelic world, God established a strict hierarchy of 9 angelic ranks: Seraphim, Cherubim, Thrones, Dominions, Powers, Powers, Principalities, Archangels, Angels. The leader of the entire angelic army, Lucifer, the most powerful, talented, beautiful and closest to God, was so proud of his highest position among the other angels that he refused to recognize man as a being, according to his abilities. equal to God(meaning a person’s ability to create and see the essence of things), that is, above him[ source not specified 960 days], he himself wanted to become higher than God, and because of this he was overthrown. Moreover, he managed to seduce many angels from different ranks. And at that moment, Archangel Michael called on those who hesitated to remain faithful to God, led an army of bright angels and struck Lucifer (who began to be called the devil, Satan, the evil one, etc., and other fallen angels - demons, demons, devils, etc.). And there was a war in Heaven, as a result of which evil spirits fell into the “underworld of the earth,” that is, into hell, where it was organized into the “kingdom” of Beelzebub, with the same angelic hierarchy.[ source not specified 960 days] Fallen spirits are not completely deprived of their former power and, by God’s permission, can inspire people with sinful thoughts and desires, guide them and cause them pain. But good angels also help people, who are more numerous than demons (in the Apocalypse (Rev. 12:4) it is said that the serpent (Lucifer) carried away a third of the stars (angels)).

White Angel (12th century fresco, Milesheva Monastery)

However, the name of a spirit is not the same as the name of a person. God is Spirit, and as Spirit, he names a being not by what is transitory, but by Glory. The Angel's name is the name of his glory. The names of some (in the Orthodox tradition - seven) Angels (Archangels) are revealed to people: Michael, Gabriel, Raphael, Uriel, Yehudiel, Selaphiel, Barachiel. Moreover, the first four Angels are considered “biblical”, that is, their names are directly named in Scripture, and the last three are known from Tradition.

In Orthodoxy, there is an idea of guardian angels sent by God to every person immediately after his baptism: “See that you do not despise one of these little ones; for I tell you that their angels in heaven always see the face of my Father in heaven” (Matthew 18:10). Every person is also hunted by demons who want to destroy his soul with the help of instilled fears, temptations and enticements. In the heart of every person there is an “invisible war” between God and the devil. But almost always God does not personally appear to people, but trusts his angels (or holy people) to convey His will. This order was established by God so that a greater number of individuals would be involved (and thereby sanctified) in the providence of God, and so as not to violate the freedom of people who are unable to withstand the personal appearance of God in all His glory. Therefore, the Old Testament prophets, John the Baptist, many saints and saints in the Church are called angels.

In addition, the earthly Church with its heavenly patrons offers special prayers for every Christian, and God has special care for him.

Each Angel (and demon) has different abilities: some “specialize” in the virtue of non-covetousness, others strengthen faith in people, and others help in other ways. Likewise, demons - some incite prodigal passions, others - anger, others - vanity, etc. In addition to personal Guardian Angels (assigned to each person), there are Angels - patrons of cities and entire states. But they never quarrel, even if these states fight among themselves, but pray to God to admonish people and grant peace on earth.

Angelic hierarchy in Christian doctrine

Cherubim are mentioned many times in the Old Testament. In the Book of Genesis (3:24), (Ps.17:11), (1 Kings 4:4, 2 Kings 6:2, Is.37:16, etc.). The seraphim are described in the book of the prophet Isaiah (Isa. 6:1-7). In three Epistles of St. Paul (between 48 and 58) are named in addition to the Angels: Archangels, Thrones, Dominions, Principalities, Powers and Powers. (Eph 1:21), (Eph 6:12), (Col 1:16), (1 Sol 4:16).

In his creation, St. Gregory the Theologian writes that there are nine angelic ranks: “Shall we strive to the extent that we know that there are some Angels (ἀγγέλους), Archangels (ἀρχαγγέλους), Thrones (θρόνους), Dominions (κυριότ ητας), Beginnings (ἀρχάς) , Power (ἐξουσίας), Lordship (λαμπρότητας), Ascension (ἀναβάσεις), intelligent Powers or Minds (νοερὰς δυνάμεις, ἢ νόας), pure nature, impurities, inflexible or intractable to evil, constantly rejoicing around the first Cause.”

St. Cyril of Jerusalem also identifies nine ranks, although in this order: “...Therefore we remember... all creation... invisible, Angels, Archangels, Power, Dominion, Beginning, Authority, Thrones, the many-eyed Cherubim (Ezek. 10:21 and 1:6 ), as if speaking to David: magnify the Lord with me (Ps. 33:4). We also remember the Seraphim, whom Isaiah saw by the Holy Spirit, standing around the Throne of God, with two wings covering their face, two legs, and two flying, and exclaiming: Holy, Holy, Holy is the Lord of Hosts (Isa. 6:2-3). And for this reason we repeat this Theology handed down to us from the Seraphim, so that we may become partakers of the hymn together with the worldly armies.”

St. Athanasius the Great (d. 373) mentions in his “Epistle to Serapion”: “13) ... Angels ... Seraphim ... Cherubim ... Archangels ... Dominions ... Thrones ... Beginning ... other things.”

In the “Word for the Nativity of the Great God and Savior Jesus Christ” by St. Amphilochius of Iconium (d. 394) lists: Cherubim, Seraphim, Archangels, Dominions, Powers and Authorities.

In one of the sermons attributed to John Chrysostom, 9 angelic ranks are listed, in the same order as Cyril of Jerusalem: “Divine wisdom, using this lamp, found one lost drachma and added it to the nine angelic drachmas. It is necessary, beloved, to say who this wife is who has ten drachmas. This is the wisdom of God, which has ten drachmas. Which? Count: angels, archangels, principalities, authorities, powers, thrones, dominions, cherubim, seraphim and the primeval Adam.”

The basis for the creation of church teaching about angels is the apocryphal book written at the end of the 5th century, attributed to Dionysius the Areopagite, “On the Heavenly Hierarchy” (Greek “Περί της ουρανίας”, lat. "De caelesti hierarchia"), better known in the 6th century edition. According to this book, the angels are arranged in the following order:

First face

  • Seraphim(Hebrew שׂרפים - burning, flaming, fiery, ancient Greek σεραφίμ (Isa. 6:2-3)) - six-winged angels. “Flaming”, “Fiery”. They burn with love for God and encourage many to it.
  • Cherubim(ancient Greek χερουβίμ from Hebrew ‏כרובים‏‎, kerubim- intercessors, minds, disseminators of knowledge, outpouring of wisdom (Gen. 3:24; Ezek. 10; Ps. 17:11)) - four-winged and four-faced angels. Their name means: outpouring of wisdom, enlightenment. The rite of the liturgy of the Byzantine rite includes a chant called the Cherubic hymn: “ Like the Cherubim, they secretly form and sing the Trisagion hymn to the Life-Giving Trinity..." It consists of two parts, separated by a great entrance; the royal doors of the altar open in front of it.
  • Thrones(ancient Greek θρόνοι), according to Dionysius: “God-bearing” (Ezek 1:15-21; 10:1-17) - the Lord sits on them as if on a throne and pronounces His Judgment.

Second face

  • Dominations, other Greek κυριότητες, lat. dominancees(Col 1:16) - they instruct the earthly rulers appointed by God to wisely govern, teach them to control their feelings and tame sinful lusts.
  • Powers, other Greek δυνάμεις, lat. potestates(Rom 8:38; Eph 1:21) - they work miracles and send down the grace of miracles and clairvoyance to the saints of God.
  • Authorities, other Greek ἐξουσίες, lat. virtutes(Col 1:16) - have the power to tame the power of the devil.

Third face

  • Principalities (Beginnings)(archons), ancient Greek. ἀρχαί, lat. principles(Rom 8:38; Eph 1:21; Col 1:16) - they are entrusted with managing the Universe and the elements of nature.
  • Archangels(chiefs of angels), ancient Greek. ἀρχάγγελοι - Michael (Rev 12:7) - heavenly teachers who teach people how to act in life.
  • Angels, other Greek ἀγγελοι - closest to people. They proclaim God's intentions and instruct people to lead a virtuous and holy life. Gabriel (Luke 1:26); Raphael (Tov 5:4); (For Pseudo-Dionysius, the Archangel Michael is an “angel”); Seven Angels with golden bowls filled with the wrath of God (Rev 15:1); The Angel of the Abyss Abaddon with a chain and the key to the Abyss (Rev 9:1, 11; 20:1); Seven Angels with Trumpets (Rev 8:6).

In Islam

Main article: Angels in Islam

Belief in angels is an integral part of the Muslim faith (Quran 2:177), it is one of the pillars of the Muslim faith. According to Islamic beliefs, angels are created from the element of light, genderless, and incredibly strong. The meaning of their existence is to serve Allah (Quran 2:34). Angels are sinless, since they are not endowed by Allah with temptation (nafs) and the ability to make a choice, and unquestioningly carry out His orders.

  • Angel Messenger Jabrail (Archangel Gabriel) - he is entrusted with the function of transmitting the Holy Revelation from Allah to the prophets.
  • Angel Mikail (Archangel Michael) - distributes “rizq” (food and good things) to people.
  • Angel Israfil - he is tasked with blowing the Horn on the Day of Judgment.
  • Angel Azrael is the Angel of Death, by order of Allah, before the death of a person, he takes his soul.
  • Angel Dadrail is an angel who brings diseases.
  • Angels Harut and Marut - give people magical knowledge about witchcraft, but not for its use, but only for testing people, like an apple in paradise (forbidden fruit). For using this knowledge, a person will burn in Hell (Quran 2:102). According to the “Semantic Translation of the Koran” by V. Porokhova, the brothers Harut and Marut were ordinary people, but they were so successful in magic and witchcraft that people ranked them as angels.
  • Angel Idris is an angel, a source of knowledge.
  • Angel Malik - guarding Hell.
  • Angels Munkar and Nakir interrogate people in their graves.

Also, in the Koran and in the Sunnah of the Prophet Muhammad, other angels are described, without naming their names:

  • Guardian angels are angels who follow a person everywhere and protect him by the will of the Almighty or retreat when Allah sends him tests in His wisdom.
  • angels-scribes - angels located on the right and left shoulder from a person, and recording his every deed and word. (Quran 50:17; 82:10-12). Based on these factual materials, Allah will pronounce one sentence or another on the person on the Day of Judgment.
  • angels governing natural phenomena and strength. Among them are the guardian angel of the mountains, the angel who guides the sun, etc. As was said earlier, they perform all their actions only at the command of Allah.
  • an angel who watches the wombs of mothers and writes down the gender of the child, his destiny, term, and destiny while still in the womb.
  • angels carrying the Throne of Allah.
  • guardian angels of Heaven and Hell.
  • warrior angels are angels who are given by Allah to help human troops, as Allah’s Blessing and Contentment with these people.
  • angels wandering the roads in search of people who remember Allah and help them. They also convey the greetings of all Muslims to the Prophet Muhammad.

Angelic beings in other religions

In Buddhism

In Buddhism, the idea of angels is reflected in the concept of a bodhisattva - a certain Enlightened Being, similar to angels in the Abrahamic religions (see Lewis James R., Oliver Evelyn D. Encyclopedia of Angels. Ser. "Encyclopedia" / Translated from English by P.V. Altukhova. R/n/D., 1997. - P. 101).

In Zoroastrianism

For followers of Zoroastrianism - Amesha Spenta, Yazatas.

Angel in Chuvash mythology

Piresti (Chuvash. Pirĕshti) - in Chuvash mythology, an anthropomorphic and zoomorphic creature, included in the polysystem of deities and spirits, has numerous functions and appears in various images: a humanoid messenger, transmitting through Kepe or Puleh to the Supreme God Tură the requests of people, or, conversely, from the gods of the heavenly world, bringing good news to people; a person’s protective angel sitting on his shoulders, often there are two of them; the guardian spirit of the soul, in the form of an indefinite bird; the deity of the house, in contrast to Khertsurt (Chuvash. Kherthurt), capable of doing only good; patron of horses and livestock in general.

The image and functions of Piresti go back to ancient Iranian culture: Avest. Fravashi - giver of life, protector, guardian spirit, eternal souls of ancestors in the form of birds; Persian. Fereshte - angel, messenger.

In Sikhism

Azrael (as Azraa-eeel) is the name of the angel of death in the Guru Granth Sahib, the holy book and last guru of Sikhism.

Images of angels

Angels were usually depicted as blond, androgynous youths with wings (a symbol of freedom of spirit) wearing white linen clothing with gold belts. The habitat of angels is the heavens, which were created before the dense sky (Gen. 1.1, Gen. 1.8).

Angel Abilities

The power of Angels is bestowed by God. He determines for any Angel the abilities that the Angel will possess. Some abilities have been shown in many Christian tales:

  • Be invisible to physical perception;
  • The ability to fly in the spiritual;
  • Ability to manifest in material:
  • The ability to appear in the physical human body, the ability to influence the physical world;
  • Seeing through time, seeing as faces human soul, and the thoughts of a person in the soul and in the gaze, the deepest thoughts of a person’s heart;
  • The ability to destroy entire cities;
  • The possibility of sinful choice exists for angels in Christianity, but is absent in Islam and Judaism

True, R. Saadia Gaon (IX-X centuries) recognized the freedom of choice of angels.

Archangels

Main article: Archangels Cathedral of the Archangel Michael
(Russian icon, 19th century) Archangels (medieval engraving)

Archangel(Greek αρχι- - “chief, senior” and άγγελος - “messenger, messenger”) - in Christian ideas, the senior angel. In the system of the angelic hierarchy of Pseudo-Dionysius the Areopagite, this is the eighth of the nine ranks of angels. In the canonical books of the Bible, only Michael is directly named as an archangel, but according to the traditions of the church, there are several archangels.

According to the classification of angels set out in the work of Pseudo-Dionysius the Areopagite (5th - early 6th centuries) “On the Heavenly Hierarchy”, Archangel is the name of the second rank in the third, lowest rank of the angelic hierarchy (1st rank - angels, 2nd - archangels, 3rd - start). According to another, more ancient classification - in the Jewish apocrypha “Book of Enoch” (2nd century BC) - there are seven Archangels:

  • Michael is the main Archangel,
  • Lucifer[ source not specified 289 days] - Fallen Archangel,
  • Uriel - ruler of the heavenly bodies,
  • Raphael is the ruler of man's thoughts and his healer,
  • Raguel - punishing the world of luminaries,
  • Sariel is the leader of the spirits that seduce and draw people into sin,
  • Gabriel is the guardian of paradise and the leader of the spirits who help people.

Probably the seven Archangels of the Book of Enoch correspond to the seven Amesha Spentas of the Zoroastrian pantheon and the seven planetary spirits of the Babylonians. According to the mystical traditions of Judaism, each archangel is connected to one of the planets. The Seven Archangels as commanders over the myriads of angels (heavenly host) are also called in the Christian tradition archangels.

The doctrine of seven angels is also found in the canonical books of the Bible. In the Book of Tobit: “I am Raphael, one of the seven holy angels who offer the prayers of the saints and ascend before the Glory of the Holy One” (12:15). In the Apocalypse: “the seven stars are the Angels of the seven churches” (1:20). The doctrine of the council of seven Archangels with specific names appears in the Middle Ages in the 15th century, this description was made by the Franciscan Portuguese monk Amadeus Mendes da Silva († 1482), he learned the names from his own revelation. In the Middle Ages, the cult of the seven angels appeared in the Catholic Church and churches were built in Rome, then in Naples. Until the end of the 17th century, this teaching about a council of 7 archangels with specific names was not in Orthodoxy, both in iconography and in hagiography (Great Menaions of St. Macarius of the 16th century, Lives of the Saints Tulupov of the mid-17th century) - no. The Council of Rome in 745 determined: “Nos autem, ut a vestro sancto apostolatu edocemur, et divina tradit auctoritas, et non plus quam trium angelorum nomina cognoscimus, id est Michael, Gabriel, Raphael: alioqui de mysterio sub obtentu angelorum demonum nomina introduxit.” (But we, as the holy apostolic ministry teaches us and gives us Divine authority, do not know more than three names of angels, that is, Michael, Gabriel, Raphael: otherwise the secret of the existence of the names of angels and demons would be revealed.) The names Barachiel and Jehudiel are not in the Holy According to the tradition of the Church, these names are from the revelation of Amadeus of Portugal. The first name - Barachiel - is found in the Jewish apocrypha in the “Book of Heavenly Palaces” (between the 2nd and 8th/9th centuries) - chapter 14, 17: “Baraki*el (Barachiel), who controls lightning,” but the name Yehudiel does not appear nowhere at all, except for the revelation of Amadeus.

If you believe solely in the words of the Bible, then Michael is an archangel, Gabriel is an angel (according to Orthodox hymnography, he is an archangel), Raphael is an angel. According to the non-canonical book of the Bible, the Third Book of Ezra, Selaphiel and Uriel are only angels, and not archangels or cherubim or seraphim.

In the Orthodox Church you can see images of the following Archangels: Michael, Gabriel, Raphael, Uriel, Selaphiel, Jehudiel, Barachiel and Jeremiel. Sihail, Zadkiel, Samuel, Jophiel and many others are also known.

The celebration of the Council of the Archangel Michael and other ethereal heavenly powers is celebrated in the Orthodox Church on November 8 (21). Its establishment is associated with the decision of the Council of Laodicea (c. 343), which took place several years before the First Ecumenical Council and condemned as heretical the worship of angels as creators and rulers of the world.

Enochian magic

Main article: Enochian magic "The Magic Mirror" by John Dee.

Enochian magic is an angelic magic of Kabbalistic origin, created (or received) by the English mathematician, alchemist and astrologer John Dee and the medium Edward Kelly.

Perhaps out of frustration at being unable to achieve a comprehensive understanding of the mysteries of nature, Dee began to seek higher help in communicating with the angels. He and his medium, the convicted counterfeiter Edward Kelly, had numerous sessions of such communication during their travels together between 1583 and 1589. By all accounts, Dee was sincere, but the same could not be said of Kelly, who may have been fooling John Dee.

Enochian magic is based on the evocation and control of various spirits through prayer. Dee's diaries contain the "Enochian alphabet" and tables of correspondences with it. These same diaries claim that the transmitted “teaching” contains the secrets of the apocryphal Book of Enoch.

John Dee considered his magic to be a means to natural theology, believing that communication with the spiritual world was necessary for understanding nature, considering the created world to be formed as a complex system through which God revealed Himself through spirits and angels, imparting to him through them secrets of a quasi-mathematical order letters and numbers. Although John Dee's cosmology had a cabalistic origin, he did not see it as contradictory to his Protestant views.

According to Professor Stephen Clucas, Enochian magic refers to "religious magic" in which occult relationships and forces are seen as paths to the divine and spiritual ascension of the magician. Clucas calls Dee's views on prayer a form of "Christian magic."

Angels and astrology

During the Middle Ages, ideas were formed about the correlation between patron angels and the seven planets of the solar system then known in Europe. Arabic ideas about the patron angels of the planets came to medieval Europe. Thus, the Muslim thinker al Barcelona believed that the Moon is ruled by the angel Gabriel, and the Sun by Raphael. Within the framework of Kabbalah, its own system of correspondences was also developed, which was later used in divination and magic (see Lewis James R., Oliver Evelyn D. Op. op. R/n/D., 1997. - P. 88, 284).

Help from the Archangels. Names of the Archangels.

Behind the guardian angels are the archangels. They are generally larger, stronger, and more powerful than angels.
It was not for nothing that I dwelled on this point: many people worry that if they turn, for example, to Archangel Michael for help, they will thereby distract him from “more important matters.” That's how easily we project our human limitations! The truth is that archangels and ascended masters can be with any person who needs their support, and at the same time they have a unique experience with each of them. Remember that you can always mentally turn to them for help, and you are not required to know any special prayers.
Interestingly, recently the other archangels began to encourage me to involve them in my work and participation in my life; Therefore, in this book I have included brief characteristics of some other archangels, as well as the area in which they can provide assistance.
1. Archangel Ariel
The name Ariel means "Divine Lion" (or "lioness"). Ariel is known as the Archangel of the Earth because he works tirelessly for the benefit of all the planets. He controls the elemental realm and helps heal animals, especially strays. Contact Ariel if you want to explore the fairy realm, help environmental projects, or need to heal an injured wild bird or other animal.
2. Archangel Azrael
The name Azrael means "one who is helped by God." He is often called the Angel of Death because he meets people on their final journey and escorts them to the Other Side. It helps recently deceased souls experience peace and feel very loved. This archangel helps clergy of all faiths and spiritual teachers. Call on Azrael to help your dead or dying loved ones, or when you need help choosing a path in life.
3. Archangel Gabriel
The name Gabriel means "God is my strength." During the early Renaissance, this archangel was portrayed as a female archangel, although in later writings he is addressed as a male (this may have begun after the extensive editing of the Scriptures at the Council of Nicaea). She is a messenger angel and helps those whose activities are related to the transmission of information: writers, teachers, journalists. Contact Gabriel to overcome your fear and procrastination in any communication endeavor. She also helps with issues of conception and pregnancy, adoption and early childhood.
4. Archangel Zadkiel
The name Zadkiel means "Divine Justice". For a long time he was considered the archangel of good memory. Like Uriel, he is an excellent student helper. Contact Zadkiel if you need to learn or remember anything, such as your Divine essence.
5. Archangel Jeremiel
The name Jeremiel means "mercy of God." This archangel inspires us to dedicate ourselves to the spiritual aspects of work. It also helps in the process of comprehension
Divine wisdom. Call Jeremiel if you feel spiritually stagnant and if you need to renew your enthusiasm for moving on your Spiritual path or fulfilling your Divine purpose. Jeremiel creates favorable conditions for emotional healing. It especially helps in situations related to issues of forgiveness.
6. Archangel Yophiel
The name Yofiel means "Divine Beauty". This archangel is the patron of artists and helps to see and maintain beauty in life. Contact Yofiel before starting any creative project. Since she is dedicated to maintaining the beauty of our planet by cleansing it of pollution, you can also ask this archangel for a task for yourself that you can complete to help her in her important mission. I call Yofiel the angel of feng shui because she helps eliminate clutter and confusion - in your office, home or in your head and life in general.
7. Archangel Metatron
Metatron's name means "presence." This archangel is called “the archangel of presence.” He is considered the youngest and tallest among all known archangels; he is one of two who previously led an earthly life (like the prophet Enoch). Metatron works together with the Mother of God, helping children - both alive and well, and those who have left the Earth. Contact him whenever you need any help regarding children. His interventions often involve opening children to spiritual awareness and understanding. Regardless of whether you feel the presence of angels and archangels, whether you believe in their existence or not, they are always there and ready to come to your aid and answer your call. They are ready and willing to provide support and help every person along their path. In connection with the law of Free Will, angels cannot help a person unless they hear from him a clear request for help and an invitation to their life!

How to communicate with angels.

1. Make room in your life for angels

Angels live in the world of the Spirit, the heavenly world, and we live in the world of matter. Naturally, they are drawn to home. Therefore, if you want the angels to feel comfortable with you, you need to make your world - thoughts, feelings and surroundings - more similar to their world. To paraphrase the Epistle of James, we can say this: draw close to the angels, and they will draw close to you (James 4:8).

Angels feel good surrounded by thoughts of peace and love, and not in an atmosphere of irritation and aggression. You may not be able to get out of your head, say, a rude driver who cut you off on the way to your house. However, it is quite possible to free yourself from irritation by starting to communicate with angels for at least a few minutes a day.

Get rid of the irritants first. Turn off the radio and TV, go to a separate room or to your favorite corner of nature, imagine angels (an image of your favorite angel placed nearby will help) and communicate with them.

Just tell the angels about your problems. Talk as if you were sharing with your best friend. And then listen. Be silent and wait for the thoughts that the angels will send you. You may want to try some of the techniques given in this booklet to increase the flow of positive energy coming from the angels.

And soon your relationship with the angels will turn into an upward spiral: they will help you feel more positive. And a positive state will bring you closer to the angels.

2. Pray out loud

Angels answer many silent prayers or persistent desires of the heart. You don't have to speak to get their attention, especially in places where it would be inconvenient, such as a business meeting or on the subway. However, you will receive a more powerful answer if you speak to the angels out loud.

The spoken prayer has various shapes: Songs and hymns traditionally used to invoke angels, common prayers such as the Lord's Prayer, and custom prayers in which you speak to your soul's deepest longings. You can combine all this with “decrees” and “decrees” - new types of prayers that you will learn about in this booklet.

Decrees enable God and man to work together to constructively change lives. These are spoken prayers that enable you to channel the energy of God into the world. Decrees are short, powerful statements like: “Archangel Michael! Help! Help! Help!”, effective for calling on the help of angels.

Speak your commands and decrees out loud in a firm, strong voice. Say them at home before the altar, on the way to the bus stop, in the car, in the mountains and, especially, in emergency situations. And see how the heavenly streams pour out on you!

3. Use God's name

God is within you. And if you use the energy of the God who lives in you to direct the angels, they will be able to respond with all the power of the universe.

When God spoke to Moses from the burning but not consumed bush, He revealed both His name - I AM THAT I AM - and the true nature of man. You are this bush, and the fire is your divine spark, the fire of God, which He gives to you as His son or daughter. This is the power to create in the name of God and the right to command angels.

Jesus used the name of God when he said, “I AM the resurrection and the life.” Whenever you say: “I AM...”, you truly say: “God is in me...”, and thus attract to yourself all these qualities. When you say, “I AM illumination,” you are saying that God in you is attracting this quality to you, making you more enlightened than you were before. Many of the commands and decrees in this booklet contain the name of God - I AM THAT I AM. Try reading them and experience the increased power of your prayers.

4. Give your prayers and decrees daily

Angels are always with us. But we don't always know how to contact them. The best way to ensure that they answer the call is to create a well-trodden path from your heart to their hearts by communicating with them every day. And the best way to communicate with them is to set aside time for daily sessions of prayer and invocation. There is no need to make them long; five minutes is a good start.

Mechanic Michael assures that angels help him all the time and that by reading decrees daily, he is on the same wavelength with them. “For my part, I am more in tune with them,” he says. Reading the decrees daily helps him receive almost instantaneous answers to his requests. It usually takes no more than fifteen seconds for the angels to indicate where to find missing parts, and they regularly help determine the causes of machine problems.

When you pray daily, you help not only yourself, but also people you don’t even know. The angels are looking for those who regularly call on the light of God to become their partners in the work of healing the planet. And when found, they send light through them to help those threatened by disease, brutal violence or natural disasters. Thus, your daily prayers will truly bring change in the world.

5. Ask for help

Even after you have become friends with angels, do not forget to ask them for help when you need it. Angels respect your free will. In very rare cases they may intervene without you calling them, but more often, out of politeness, they wait to be called upon.
Michael (a mechanic) says that he sometimes struggles with a problem on his own for a long time before he remembers the angels and calls on them to help. This often happens when he tries to screw a bolt into a place that he cannot see: “I can spend fifteen minutes trying to get it, and then I say, “Angels, please help me,” and bam! “Everything worked out,” he says.

6. Repeat decrees and prayers

Decrees and prayers become more powerful when you repeat them. Many Protestants avoid saying prayers multiple times, seeing this as the “many words” that Jesus warned against (Matt. 6:7). “Really,” they say, “why should I ask God for anything more than once?” The Catholic and Eastern Orthodox Churches, on the other hand, practice repeating the Lord's Prayer, Hail Mary, and other prayers. Jewish mystics repeated the names of God. For some mystics, repetition truly becomes unceasing prayer (I Thess. 5:17).
The reason prayer becomes more effective when repeated is that each time you say it increases the amount of light energy you send out to God and the angels. Angels can use this energy as a seed, adding even more light energy when they appear in response to your call. So, choose a series of prayers and decrees. Say them every day until the angels respond.

7. Send your prayer to the right address

If you need to fix the pipes in your house, you call a plumber. To escape from a bully, call on the angels of protection. If you want to establish a relationship with someone, call the angels of love.

Angels have different jobs. And they use energies of different frequencies (corresponding to different colors) in order to fulfill it. In the following pages you will learn about the seven types of angels, the seven Archangels who rule over them, and which angels to call upon for specific tasks.

The idea of seven Archangels is not new, nor is the association of each angel with a specific color, or spiritual fire. Even in the third century before Christ, Jews wrote about seven Archangels. They also believed that angels appeared surrounded by spiritual flames of various colors.

You can establish a closer connection with these beings if you call upon an Archangel whose angels specialize in the specific work you would like to see accomplished.

8. Be specific

The angels definitely answer your call and are proud of it. The more specific the request, the more accurate the answer will be. As long as you live in harmony with the universal Source and give your energy to help others, hosts of angels will help you in everything, down to the smallest details of life.

Here's an inspiring example. During the Second World War, left penniless, a woman turned to God for help. In her grocery list, she specifically listed what was needed to feed her family over the weekend. A few hours later, a man knocked on the door and handed over a basket containing everything she asked for, including veal, potatoes and baking flour.

This is how another woman worked with the angels to purchase the car she wanted. Danette was looking for a used Toyota 4-Runner, but knew she wouldn't be able to pay what they would normally pay for such a car. And then she decided to entrust this matter to the angels.

The woman wrote down the car's year, make, color, engine size, reasonable price, mileage, and the type of wheels and tires she needed. On the same list, she indicated that she wanted a car in good working order with power steering and brakes, strong windows and locks, air conditioning and computer route control. She cut out a picture of the type of car she was looking for and kept it in her wallet. Every day from fifteen to forty-five minutes she spoke decrees and decrees to the angels, looking at her list and picture.

After weeks of reading car ads with no results, Danette was a little frustrated, but she didn't give up. “I knew that the angels continued to work on this issue... I would not agree to anything less,” she said. Finally, the woman decided to continue her search in another city, located twelve hours away from her own. Her friends there said that a 4-Runner simply couldn't be found at a price she could afford.

But after looking through the ads in the local newspaper, Danette discovered... a 1990 Toyota 4-Runner and - as she said - "three thousand dollars cheaper than the cars she had seen before." The owner placed an advertisement literally on this day; the car met all its requirements, right down to computer route control. Her bank processed the loan, and as Danette drove home in her 4-Runner, she thanked the angels the whole way.

The more detail your request contains, the more satisfied you will be with the results.

9. Imagine what you want to happen

You can increase the power of your prayer by maintaining a stable mental picture of what you want to happen. Additionally, imagine a radiant light that surrounds the situation or problem. Sometimes focusing on an image can help, as Danette did. Here's another example of how visualization works.

When a group of young people were driving home after attending a spiritual seminar, the engine of their car began to overheat. Since none of them had money to repair the car, they decided to ask the angels for help.

Kevin, who was driving, said, “Whenever the gauge crept toward the overheating mark, I made a fervent call to the angels... I asked all the passengers to visualize snow, crystal-clear, cold mountain streams and ice around the engine. We noticed how the needle immediately went down, indicating that the temperature had dropped to normal.”

Thanks to the angels and effective visualization, the young people made it home safely! Of course, whenever possible, it is better to combine the help of angels with the help of professionals.

10. Expect surprises

These questions arise in almost everyone who has ever thought about angels. Why do they answer some prayers and not others? Why does one pray for ten years and not get what he wants, while another gets it immediately? Why does a fire or flood destroy some houses while others remain undamaged? Undoubtedly, angels hear everyone's prayers.

One reason is that the ability of angels to answer prayers is based on the cumulative consequences of our past actions - our good and bad deeds in this and previous lives - referred to as karma. Angels are not genies or Santa Claus. They are obliged to act in accordance with the law of karma. When we pray to the angels with devotion, they can sometimes eliminate the effects of karma, but more often they only have the power to mitigate them.

Angels hear all our prayers. But in order to satisfy the request, three conditions must be met:

  • they cannot interfere with God's plan for your soul (or your karma);
  • they must not harm you or anyone else;
  • the timing must be right.

You can beg for years to win the lottery and not win. But you may get something unexpected in return, such as a high-paying job that opens up new horizons for you. Perhaps the angels were unable to respond to the request for winnings due to the fact that your soul needs to learn how to earn its own living. But they answered. And in exactly the way that is best for you.

If you follow the steps outlined in this booklet and still do not receive an answer, consider whether the angels are trying to tell you something? Maybe it's time to reconsider the content of your prayer and try again? Continue to pray and know that they will give you the best answer they can give based on the needs of your soul. Prayer always bears fruit. You just need to know where to look.

ARCHANGEL METATRON

Archangel Metatron (Merraton, Metaraon)

Metatron is a passionate and energetic angel who works tirelessly to help the inhabitants of the Earth. He serves as an intermediary between Heaven and Earth, as he has rich experience of being both a human and an angel. He helps us understand Heavenly perspectives and teaches us how to cooperate with the angels.
Metatron has a special place in his heart for children, especially those who are spiritually gifted. After the Exodus, Metatron led the children of Israel to safety through the desert. He continues to lead children today, both on Earth and in Heaven. Metatron cares deeply about children diagnosed with attention deficit disorder and attention deficit hyperactivity disorder, and helps parents, educators, scientists and medical professionals find natural alternatives to Ritalin and other psychotropic drugs.
Meteatron helps recently deceased children adjust to Heaven, and living children to love themselves and be able to focus. Metatron also helps children become aware of spirituality and embrace and refine their spiritual gifts.
Metatron's energy is very strong and focused, like a laser beam. He has great driving force and will always help you overcome your insecurities and courageously take a step forward. He is also a philosopher and is ready to help you understand what causes other people's actions and why certain situations arise.
He says:
“My life on Earth gave me the opportunity to understand human ideas about life and death, which are abstract for those who have always been in the ether. I understand well the fear of death, which is the background of many human emotions. Since I myself have crossed this line, I want to emphasize the opinion that you have heard so often: in fact, there is no need to be afraid of coming here. Your time is planned according to the calendar of your soul, and death will not come a moment earlier than expected.
There is no such thing as premature or unplanned death, and all the unpleasant things associated with death exist primarily in the human imagination. Even those who die under tragic circumstances are spared excruciating suffering due to the intervention of God. Their souls are removed from their corporeal shell at the moment of inevitability, long before suffering can begin. This disconnection from the event occurs because they are focused on what will happen when their earthly existence ends. The attractiveness of the newfound life that follows death completely distracts from the suffering that a person seems to endure at the moment of death. We assure you that all this happens because the Great Creator, who is always and everywhere with us, has compassion on us.”

Helps with:

  • Attention deficit disorder (ADS)
  • Attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD)
  • Children's problems
  • Spiritual understanding
  • By writing

Appeal

If a child you care for has SUD or ADD and is prescribed certain medications, call on Archangel Metatron, there may be alternative treatments:

Archangel Metatron, I ask for your loving intervention to help (say the name of the child) who is diagnosed with (name the diagnosis). Please help us know God's Will for this child, and tell us adults what is best for him. Please help us stay strong among so many experts and do what we think is right. Please help us, all concerned adults, make decisions on behalf of this child, and have peaceful discussions despite differing opinions. Metatron, please protect this child from any harm, now and in the future. Thank you.

Archangel Sandalphon

Sandalphon's main task is to bring people's prayers to the Lord so that He answers them. It is said to be so high that it extends from Earth to Heaven. Ancient Kabbalah says that Sandalphon helps future parents determine the gender of the child they are carrying. Many believe that he is very skilled in music.

The messages and music of Archangel Sandalphon reach us like gentle whispers carried on the wings of angels - they are so gentle that they can fly past you if you do not pay enough attention to them. When you call upon Sandalphon, be very attentive to all the words and music that are heard in your mind - most likely, these are the answers to your prayers

Helps with:

  • Music

  • Future babies - determines their gender

Appeal

If you are praying and want an immediate answer, call on Archangel Sandalphon by thinking about your prayer and saying:

Beloved Archangel Sandalphon, deliverer and answerer of prayers, I ask for your help. Please deliver my prayer (read prayer) to the Lord as soon as possible. I ask you to bring me a clear answer so that I can understand it. Please let me know if my request is being fulfilled and let me know if there is anything else I should do. Thank you and amen.

Often, due to past negative experiences, our hearts are closed to angels. Or the mind, accustomed to rational thinking, cannot comprehend and understand the presence of angels in our lives. How then can angels appear to us? The main aspect is that we must accept angels into our lives and establish a connection with them. When we open ourselves to angels, the mental, emotional and physical body. By activating all three of your main bodies, you open a channel between yourself and your angels, and they have the opportunity to actually appear to you, or you can actually feel them. Angels will bring joy, positive mood, harmony of relationships, wisdom, love, clear guidance, protection and support into your life. Your angels are waiting for you with their hearts wide open, and their love for you is sincere and pure. Of all the Supreme Beings, it is easiest for us to perceive and communicate with angels.

How to get in touch with and hear the guiding angels, the Higher Self and the archangels?
On the path to our Higher Self and our angelic guides, various difficulties and trials may await us.
The most serious and common ones are fear and lack of self-confidence. Those nightmarish pictures that torment you are nothing more than an expression of your fears and stress. In such a state, it is really difficult to hear anything, much less try to achieve internal silence.
For a modern person who constantly works with the mind, it is easier to get in touch with the Higher part of oneself through the heart. It is best to concentrate on the heart chakra, and not on ajna. Try not to hear the angels, but to feel them, feel their love, their energy, their vibrations.
Heart Meditation-
Sit in a comfortable position, close your eyes and concentrate your attention on the heart area or the heart chakra. Just sit and look at her with your inner gaze. It doesn’t matter if extraneous thoughts come into your head, try not to be distracted by thinking about them for a long time and every time come back to contemplating the heart chakra. Feel the peace and tranquility reigning inside your heart. Feel its calm, measured beat. Imagine that the whole world around you is boiling and seething somewhere out there, outside of your heart. There is silence and peace in it, like in the depths of the ocean. Inside you, inside your heart, lies everything that you can and want to do. And nothing will be created without your will. You are the master of your heart and your world. When you manage to feel this, sit in this state for as long as you need to feel confident in yourself and your abilities.

Now, having felt this confidence, begin to send waves of love and gratitude from your heart. Thank everything and everyone you want to thank, even for the smallest things. Thank the universe, thank God in yourself and God in other people, everyone who helps you realize yourself as you are. Let these waves radiate from your heart and go into the reality around you. Observe in your mind's eye how they change people and situations by touching them. You can imagine those with whom you have a difficult relationship and send them waves of love and gratitude. You will see the effect they will have.

At the end of the meditation, turn to your Higher Self, send waves of love and gratitude to it and ask it to guide you in the best way for you. Thank yourself and send love to yourself. Feel how this wave from your heart envelops you from head to toe, like a magical cocoon, protecting you from all adversity and transforming your inner essence.

MEDITATION “MEETING WITH ANGELS”

MEDITATION “MEETING WITH ANGELS” (transmitted to Urania by Thoth) Sit comfortably in a quiet place. Ask your Higher Self to help you meet the brothers and sisters of your spiritual family. Close your eyes and begin to breathe slowly and smoothly, preferably without pausing between inhalation and exhalation. Feel how with each breath you begin to slowly move upward, smoothly rising higher and higher along the long vertical tunnel above your head. When you exhale, you, like a swimmer emerging from the depths, slow down a little to take a little rest from the rise and prepare for the next rush upward. You can already see the light at the end of this long tunnel. Strive for it with all your being, and the rise will go faster. Now you are already touching this light with the top of your head, taking another breath and seeming to emerge into a huge dazzling space. You float in it. You feel like you are in heaven, inside a fluffy cloud. Take a look around. Everywhere near you you see the faces of angels, they surround you everywhere, they exude such love for you and such admiration that at first it will take you some time to get used to them. Say hello to them, let them touch you, hug you. You will definitely feel these touches, they will be like light touches. But there will be many of them. You might even hear the flapping of their wings. You have returned home to your spiritual family for a short time, and they are happy to welcome you. Let them do for you what they want to do for you. Maybe they will spin you around in their delightful round dance, maybe they will want to undress and bathe you in the rays of light and their love. Maybe they'll want to give you an angelic massage. Perhaps they will present you with their gifts. Whatever they do, it will all be appropriate, and you will feel their every movement as the greatest gift for yourself, you will be happy from any of their touch, because you will feel that for you there is no one closer and dearer than them. When you realize that it is time for you to return, the angels will gather around you again, and each of them, with their touch, will transfer to you a particle of their energy, which you will carry with you to Earth. Feel how your being, like a vessel, is filled with these energies. Realize how important it is to them that you will carry their energy down. Every particle of this energy will be forever connected through you with your Native Home, you will be a messenger of Light on Earth, a messenger of great angelic beings, a messenger of Love. Feel these energies singing within you, feel this choir with your whole body and realize that, having descended to Earth, you will always carry them within you, you will shine with them and illuminate the path for yourself and others. Thank the angels for their gifts and, with a light and free heart, dive into the small round hole under your feet. You will go down it as smoothly as you went up, inhaling and exhaling, only now with each exhalation you will get closer to the Earth, to yourself, sitting in meditation in a quiet room. Take another breath and open your eyes. Do you still feel the singing energies of the Angels within you?

Archangel Zadkiel and his feminine counterpart Saint Amethyst embody the spirit of the violet ray, the seventh ray, and the age of Aquarius. He and Saint Amethyst help humanity master the seat of the soul chakra.

These archangels carry the flame of freedom, joy, forgiveness, alchemy, justice, transmutation and soul liberation. We can enhance these violet ray qualities in our lives by invoking the violet flame through the science of the spoken Word.

Using the violet flame can erase memories of the past, bring forgiveness and increase the spirit of joy within us. And every time we turn to Zadkiel and Amethyst, who embody the violet flame, we bring change to the earth and change ourselves, move closer to merging with our Christ Self and help prepare the world for the coming Golden Age. According to Archangel Zadkiel, the success of the Aquarian age absolutely depends on the effectiveness of our violet flame invocations and on single violet flame invocations that can be worthy of a million prayers.

You can call on Zadkiel and Amethyst to help you cleanse yourself of the karma of the past and bring a new spirit into your life. As you say the following affirmation, visualize a violet flame removing obstacles to the liberation of your soul:

In the name of Archangel Zadkiel and Saint Amethyst,
I AM the violet flame in action within me now!
I AM the bliss and delight of the violet flame!
I AM freedom from limitations!

SEEK FOR HELP AT THE ANGEL HOUR

Those who followed our tips earlier and contacted To higher powers It was at the Hour of the Angel that we became convinced that such appeals were quickly accepted for execution.
By turning to the Higher Powers with a request at exactly the specified time, you can be sure that your request - prayer will be heard. If, precisely at the moment indicated in the table, obstacles and difficulties, as if by agreement, begin to appear on your path and interfere with you in every possible way, know that it is better to abandon your plan: fate warns that you are on the wrong path.
Don't know if you should call someone first?
Try calling during the Angel Hour: if you really need it, you will definitely get through and everything will become clear; Well, if something prevents you from getting through at this moment, the issue has been resolved by itself, it’s better for you not to take the initiative.
How exactly to contact the Angel on Duty: go to church, read a prayer or ask, as they say, in your own words? There are no rules here: do as your heart tells you.
Angels respond not to “conversion according to the rules,” but to a request coming from the soul.
And one more thing: does your religion matter?
No, it doesn't. If you truly believe, then you yourself understand perfectly well: all religions turn to the One God,
no matter what names we call Him, the angel on duty, like the sun, shines on everyone. Turn to the Hour of the Angel for help - and you will certainly receive it (albeit, perhaps in a very unexpected form), your business will certainly get off the ground.

HOW TO FILL YOUR HOUSE WITH ANGELS

The energy of your home depends only on you. No one can change it without your permission. If our aura is weakened or damaged due to sharing your power with someone, immediately try to strengthen it. You need to eat well, actively engage in auto-training, make the right decisions, imagine in images what exactly you want, and communicate with Angels of various ranks.

Every time you think or talk about angels, an archangel or a teacher, energy penetrates into your aura, which makes it even brighter.

Having a strong and pure aura, you will attract people to you; they will begin to support your decisions and plans.

How to clean your home:

To make your home attractive to angels, you must first clear it of all clutter. Do the cleaning. Vacuum and wash the entire house. Change the interior if necessary.

Open the windows to get rid of old energy and let new energy in. This is very important to do if you quarreled with someone or were rude to someone.

Purify the room with incense by placing it in every corner of the house. Let bells and cymbals hang in all rooms; they must destroy the old heavy energy.

Check the bookshelves, get rid of all junk books and books with low vibration - bad energy emanates from them.

Plants with small leaves, such as ferns, destroy all negative formations.

Call upon the silver-violet flame and imagine it filling your home.

How to fill your home with LIGHT:

Buy or borrow from friends books that exude Light. The images on the walls also emit a certain energy.

Beautiful photographs of landscapes and sea views, bright or holy people, cheerful children and animals fill the space with Light.

Angels love color, so your home should have bright curtains, bedspreads and rugs. Fill the space with a variety of colors.

Set up an altar with candles, crystals, beautiful objects, images or statues of saints and ascended teachers.

The angel will undoubtedly be impressed by your daily prayer said in this corner with a lit candle.

Meditate, pray and dance in a space filled with Light and joy.

Favorite sounds of Angels:

Angels are attracted classical music and beautiful works of the new era,” written in the name of peace and harmony. They also enjoy the sound of glass and Tibetan bowls.

Angels love laughter. Let there always be joyful relatives and friends in your home, and then the angels will definitely visit you. Sing beautiful or spiritual songs more often, and your home will become even more attractive to the messengers of light. Chant the names of the Lord, mantras or the sounds of “o” and “a”, May chanting bring you happiness.

Conversations on spiritual topics and kind statements about other people also please the ears of angels.

7. Ask that a ray of light descend from the Origin to the earth, piercing your home. Mentally imagine this picture.
8. Invite angels into your home.

ANGELS OF THE WORLD - Archangel Uriel and Archeia Aurora:

These Angels serve on the Purple-Gold Ray of Peace and help to find peace of mind and the establishment of peace. Archangel Uriel, Archeia Aurora and their angels help in world service - in the manifestation of Divine justice in courtrooms and in international relations; in restoring peace, brotherhood and understanding between communities and peoples. You can ask them to bring peace to Earth - to all tense spots on the planet!

ASK THEM:

— About spiritual gifts: about inner peace, peace of mind, about untying the knots of anger and fear in your psyche, about new hope.
— About practical assistance: about the peaceful resolution of problems in personal, social and professional relationships; in creating a harmonious environment for the manifestation of creativity and growth; about inspiration and help to sisters of mercy, doctors, shelter workers, educators, teachers, judges, social workers and everyone who serves their neighbors.
— About world service: about ending wars, about restoring peace; about brotherhood and mutual understanding; about the manifestation of divine justice in courtrooms and in international relations.

“In 1985, Soviet cosmonauts reported that from the window of the Salyut 7 space station they saw seven large angels with wings like those of jumbo jets. One female astronaut said, “They smiled as if they knew a wonderful secret.”
These angels are reminiscent of Archangel Uriel and the angels of the world. They are so big and strong that the light of their kind smiles can dissolve seemingly insurmountable problems - even on a global scale! "

You can imagine Uriel and the angels of the world as gigantic creatures, like those seen by the astronauts. They can bring peace to troubled areas, your home, and a troubled mind or soul. They act quickly and with enormous power. By entrusting them with the work, you will see that your problems disappear as quickly as clouds after rain. When you ask them to solve global problems, millions of angels get to work!

PRAYERS TO ARCHANGEL URIEL:

“Archangel Uriel, Your name is “Fire of God”!
I ask for the restoration of peace for all disturbed minds and souls!
Archangel Uriel, create a harmonious environment around me and all people living on the planet.”

Read the prayer of St. Francis of Assisi:
“Lord, make me an instrument of Your peace.
Where there is hatred, let me sow love,
Where there is resentment there is forgiveness,
Where doubt is faith,
Where there is despair there is hope,
Where there is darkness there is light,
Where there is sorrow there is joy.
O Divine Lord,
Make me
Not so much seeking consolation as consoling;
I did not so much seek understanding as understand;
He didn’t strive so much to be loved as to love.
For in giving we receive,
By forgiving, we ourselves receive forgiveness,
And when we die, we are born into Eternal Life.

And then repeat 3 times:

"Archangel Uriel and the Angels of Peace,
I accept the gift of peace into my heart,
Into your soul, into your spirit,
into your body, into your mind!
Make me an instrument of God's peace."

Question: Archangel Uriel, I know less about You than about other angels. You remain a mystery to many. What could You tell us about yourself and your role and what message do You have for us?

Answer: I'm glad you invited me to help you write this book, Doreen, because I've been there invisibly for many of your other projects. Although I seem ephemeral to you and my presence is difficult to determine, I have always been close to you. I shed light on many situations in which you experienced some difficulties, helping you deal with them in much the same way as hair conditioner helps you deal with tangled curls. In most cases, I stand respectfully aside from those who usually communicate directly with you, preferring to remain behind the scenes and come when my help will be of greatest benefit.
My love constantly flows from my heart to yours (I mean not only you, but everyone who can hear these words). I am very busy bathing different situations with love, like a fireman on a forest fire, choosing the areas that are most engulfed in flames. I extinguish the pain where everything seems hopeless, and then you begin to see and think more clearly, and eventually a way out is found. I bring New World into your consciousness so that hope can return to your heart. In many cases, I help you find a creative solution, one of those that the Higher Mind constantly offers you, but you can only perceive them in a state of clear consciousness.
I am like a window cleaner, from which you can see the prospect of the future. I'm simply clearing away the clouds so you can see life in a new light. You often call me a “psychological angel,” and this is true. I do have the ability to change something in your hearts and bring about forgiveness, even in situations where there is clouding anger and hatred. I extinguish the flame of hatred and restore to man the ability to realize Divine love. Yes, I am not only the Archangel of Forgiveness, because I can bring much more benefit to humanity.

I am a newcomer compared to those archangels with whom people are already familiar. Other archangels - many of whom you have already met (and those still on the journey to meet with your open consciousness) - have more, as you call it, "defined" traits, so you recognize them immediately. Michael, with his sharp sword, is an almighty warrior fighting for your awareness. Is it possible to ignore his loud voice and commanding spirit? Raphael, with his endless kindness and desire to support, is like best friend who is ready to be by your side in difficult times. Gabriel is an assistant to creative people and geniuses; he is always happy to do everything in his power and direct the source of creative energy to the Earth. And who am I in the kingdom of the archangels? I am the one who helps from afar, the one who enhances the situations in which healing occurs, I am ready to pour powerful streams of light into your minds and onto everything that happens.

This light is the lifeblood of healing and opens your mind and heart so that you can see circumstances from a different angle. My stream of light helps you take a step back and think things through again. He prepares your heart for forgiveness even when your mind is seeking revenge. It weakens the effect of the attack and softens your reflexive desire to immediately take revenge. This does not mean that you lose your resolve and, having softened, find yourself in a foolish position. You become calmer and have the opportunity to find new look, find another solution and strength.
Imagine me as a wise uncle who suggests solving the problem differently. I bring you an era of wisdom woven by life itself. And my bequest you receive in the form of the greatest wealth: a source of light that I generously direct onto your sacred head if it bows in sadness. This source is constantly replenished with renewed light, and I have an entire eternity to spend with you.
But it is not only this light that is a healing catalyst; we must not forget about our endless conversations that take place at such high frequencies that your consciousness is sometimes not even aware of them. Such moments give me the greatest joy - the sublime communication of our “get-togethers”, which most often occur during meditation, in a dream or when you are in a state of expanded consciousness. I take great pleasure in how deep our intellectual conversations can be, and my heart swells with happiness when I see you writing down these thoughts, capturing their wisdom for your own benefit and prosperity.
Contact me more often, I am always nearby. Do not think that I will get tired of our communication, this is my duty to you. I really value our conversations, and I am also available in those moments when you are not aware of my mission. I am the same Light as you, and, merging together, our common light will bring a lot of joy to the entire universe.
(From the book “Messages from Angels” by Doreen Virtue)

Archangels are the great evangelists who proclaim great and glorious things. Archangels reveal prophecies, knowledge and understanding of the will of God, strengthen the holy faith in people, enlightening their minds with the light of knowledge of the Holy Gospel and reveal the sacraments of pious faith. The names of the Archangels are known from the Holy Scriptures. Each of them has a special ministry. Archangels: Michael, Gabriel, Uriel, Raphael, Selaphiel, Jehudiel, Barachiel, Jeremiel.

Archangel Michael.

Archangel Michael (who is like God) is the leader of the heavenly army.

They say that Satan takes great credit for forcing painters NOT TO PICTURE themselves prostrate under the feet of the Patron of the human race. In this picture, under the feet of Archangel Michael, there is a defeated devil.

Dan. 10, 13; 12, 1.
Jude Art. 9.
Open 12, 7-8.

"Mikhail, one of the first princes, came to help me." (Dan. 10:13)

Oh, great Archangel of God, Archangel Michael, conqueror of demons! Defeat and crush all my enemies, visible and invisible, and pray to the Lord Almighty, may the Lord save and preserve me from all sorrows and from all illnesses, from mortal wounds and vain (sudden) death.

Holy Archangel of God Michael! Drive away from me with your lightning sword the evil, despondent spirit that tempts me, now and ever and unto ages of ages. Amen.

When Satan rebelled against God, saying, “I will exalt my throne above the stars of God... I will be like the Most High” (Isa. 14:13-14), then the Archangel of God Michael opposed him, answering: “Who is like God? No one like God!” . And then the entire angelic world was divided.

“And there was war in heaven: Michael and his angels fought against the dragon, and the dragon and his angels fought against them, but did not stand... And the great dragon was cast out, the ancient serpent, called the devil and Satan, who deceives the whole world, was cast out to the earth, and his angels were cast out with him. And I heard a loud voice saying in heaven: Now has come the salvation and the power and the kingdom of our God and the authority of His Christ, because the slanderer is cast out.” (Apoc.12:7-10).

Since then, God blessed this zealous Archangel to participate in spiritual battles as the Archangel of the disembodied forces and named him Michael, which translated means - Who is like God. Who is equal to God.

The book “Guide to Painting Icons of Saints” says that Saint Archangel Michael “is depicted trampling (stomping on) Lucifer and, as a winner, holding a green date branch in his left hand on his chest, and in his right hand a spear, on top of which a white banner with a red cross to commemorate the victory of the Cross over the devil." (Academician V.D. Fartusov, Moscow, Synod. Type, 1910, p. 226).

Russian Chrysostom, Archbishop of Kherson Innocent wrote for edification: “He was the first to rebel against Lucifer (Satan), when he rebelled against the Almighty. It is known how this war ended - with the overthrow of the Lucifer (Satan) from heaven. Since then, Archangel Michael has not ceased to fight for the glory of the Creator and Lord of all, for the cause of salvation of the human race, for the Church and her children.

... Therefore, for those who are adorned with the name of the first of the Archangels, it is most fitting to be distinguished by zeal for the glory of God, loyalty to the King of Heaven and the kings of the earth, constant war against vice and wickedness, constant humility and self-sacrifice" (Seven Archangels of God, M., 1996, pp. .5-6).

Memory of Saint Archangel Michael church calendar takes place on November 8 (old style) and September 6 (old style).

Holy Archangel Michael, help me defeat enemies, visible and invisible, and adversaries fighting against my soul and body. And pray to God for me, a sinner. Amen.

Archangel Gabriel.

Archangel Gabriel (from Hebrew - man of God). One of the highest angels appears in the Old and New Testaments as the bearer of joyful tidings. He announces to the priest Zechariah in the temple, during the offering of incense, the birth of John the Baptist, and to the Ever-Virgin in Nazareth - the birth of the Savior of the world. According to the Bible, he is considered the guardian angel of the chosen people. Kabbalists consider him the teacher of Patriarch Joseph; According to the teachings of the Mohammedans, Mohammed received his revelations from him and was carried to Heaven by him. On the icons he is depicted with candles and a jasper mirror as a sign that the ways of God are not clear until time, but are comprehended over time by studying the word of God and obedience to the voice of conscience.

Mentioned in canonical books:
Dan. 8, 16 and 9, 21;
OK. 1, 9 and 26.

"The Archangel Gabriel was sent from God." (Luke 1:26)

Oh, great Archangel of God Gabriel! You announced to the Most Pure Virgin Mary the conception of the Son of God. Announce to me, a sinner, the terrible day of my death, and pray to the Lord God for my sinful soul, may the Lord forgive my sins, and may the devils not restrain me from the ordeals for my sins.

Holy Archangel of God Gabriel, who brought inexpressible joy from Heaven to the Most Pure Virgin Mary! Fill my heart, overflowing with pride, with joy and gladness, and save me from all troubles and serious illness, now and ever and forever. Amen.

When the holy prophet Daniel received from God a prophetic vision about the future fate of the world, and was perplexed as to what it meant, he heard the voice of God: “Gabriel! Explain this vision to him!” (Dan. 8:16). Another time, as the prophet says: “Gabriel..., flying quickly, touched me... and admonished me... and said: “Daniel! Now I have gone out to teach you understanding." (Dan. 9: 21-22).

And indeed, the holy messenger of the mysteries of God explained everything to the prophet Daniel and, enlightening him, gave him an understanding of the seventy weeks, after which the Savior of the world was to be born.

Later, the Holy Archangel Gabriel was sent by God to announce to Zacharias the birth of John the Baptist, and to the Blessed Virgin Mary to predict the birth of the Savior from Her (Luke 1:5-38). “This same Archangel, in the opinion of godly men, was sent to reinforce the Savior in the Garden of Gethsemane and to announce to the Mother of God Her all-honorable Dormition. Therefore, the Church calls him a minister of miracles,” writes Saint Innocent, Archbishop of Kherson (Cit. cit., p. 7 ).

Saint Archangel Gabriel, as explained in the “Guide to Painting Icons,” “is depicted holding a lantern with a candle lit inside in his right hand, and a stone mirror in his left hand.” (Fartusov, p. 226). This mirror made of green jasper (jasper) with black and white spots on it, illuminated by the light of truth, reflects the good and bad deeds of nations, proclaims to people the secrets of God's economy and the salvation of mankind.

The name Gabriel, received by the Archangel from God, means in Russian the Fortress of God or the Power of God.

Holy Archangel Gabriel, bring me joy and the salvation of my soul. And pray to God for me, a sinner. Amen.

Archangel Uriel.

Archangel Uriel (fire of God).

3 Ezra 4, 1; 5, 20.

"Archangel Uriel commanded me." (3 Rides 5:20).

Oh, great Archangel of God Uriel! You are the radiance of the Divine fire and the enlightener of those darkened by sins, enlighten my mind, my heart and my will with the power of the Holy Spirit, and guide me on the path of repentance, and pray to the Lord God that the Lord will deliver me from the underworld and from all enemies visible and invisible.

Holy Archangel of God Uriel, illuminated by the Divine light and abundantly filled with fire and fiery hot love! Throw a spark of this fiery fire into my cold heart, illuminate my dark soul with your light, now and ever and unto ages of ages. Amen.

The name of this Archangel of God is known thanks to the third book of Ezra, the last book of the Old Testament.

The Holy Archangel Uriel was sent by God to the pious and learned priest Ezra, who lived in the 5th century BC, to give him an answer about the signs and time of the end of this world.

“I am allowed to tell you about these signs, and if you pray and cry again, as you do now, and fast for seven days, you will hear even more.” (3 Ezra 5:13) – The holy messenger of God, Uriel, spoke to Ezra. So, after each night conversation, the Archangel reminded the priest: “pray to the Almighty unceasingly, and I will come and speak with you.” (3 Rides 9:25).

And the Lord spoke to Ezra through His Heavenly Messenger: “The more you experience, the more you will be surprised, because this age is quickly rushing towards its end and cannot accommodate what is promised to the righteous in future times, because this age is filled with unrighteousness and infirmities.” " (3 Rides 4:25).

According to the Tradition of the Orthodox Church, the Holy Archangel Uriel was appointed by God to guard Paradise after the Fall and the expulsion of Adam. According to the teachings of the Holy Fathers, Archangel Uriel, being the radiance of the Divine Fire, is the enlightener of the darkened, unbelievers and ignoramuses. And the very name of the Archangel, corresponding to his special ministry, means the Fire of God or the Light of God.

According to the iconographic canon of the Orthodox Church, the holy Archangel named Fire of God “is depicted holding a naked sword in his right hand against his chest, and a fiery flame in his left.” (Fartusov, p. 226).

“As an Angel of light, he enlightens the minds of people with the revelation of truths that are useful for them; as an Angel of Divine Fire, he inflames the heart with love for God and destroys unclean earthly attachments in them,” explains Bishop Innocent, Archimandrite of Kherson. (Cit. cit., p. 10).

Holy Archangel Uriel, enlighten my mind, darkened and defiled by my passions. And pray to God for me, a sinner.

Archangel Raphael.

Archangel Raphael (God's help).

Mentioned in a non-canonical book:
Comrade 3, 16; 12, 12-15.

"Raphael was sent to heal." (Tob. 3;16)

O great Archangel of God Raphael, received a gift from God to heal ailments! Heal the incurable ulcers of my heart and the many diseases of my body.

Holy Archangel of God Raphael! You are a guide, a doctor and a healer, guide me to salvation, and heal all my mental and physical illnesses, and lead me to the Throne of God, and implore His mercy for my sinful soul, may the Lord forgive me and save me from all my enemies and from evil people, from one generation to another. Amen.

The Bible contains a wonderful biography of one pious family. This is the book of Tobias, which is particularly edifying. Here we see the invisible service of God's angels to us.

Tobit, Tobiah's father, and Tobiah's bride were seriously ill. And the Lord sent the holy Archangel Raphael for healing. When Tobit, who miraculously regained his sight, wanted to give the stranger half of his estate in gratitude, Raphael told them: “Now God has sent me to heal you and your daughter-in-law... I am Raphael, one of the seven holy Angels who offer the prayers of the saints and ascend before the glory of the Holy One... Bless God forever. For I came not by my own will, but by the will of our God; therefore bless Him forever." (Tob. 12;14-18).

“The words spoken by this Archangel during separation from Tobit’s family are very instructive. “A good deed is prayer with fasting and almsgiving and justice, for alms delivers from death and can cleanse all sin... your charity was not hidden from me, but I was with you.” (Tov. 12; 8-9; 13). Therefore, whoever wants to be worthy of Raphael’s heavenly help must first of all be merciful to those in need.” – Instructs Archbishop Innocent of Kherson (Cit. cit., p. 9).

Raphael in Aramaic means Healing of God or Healing of God.

The “Guide to Painting Icons” briefly explains that: “Holy Archangel Raphael, physician of human ailments: is depicted holding in his left hand a vessel (alavaster) with medicinal means (medicine), and in his right hand - a pod, that is, a clipped bird feather for anointing wounds." (Fartusov, p. 226).

Holy Archangel Raphael, heal my ailments, both mental and physical passions. And pray to God for me, a sinner. Amen.

Archangel Selaphiel.

Archangel Salafiel (prayer to God).

Mentioned in a non-canonical book:
3 Ezra 5, 16.

"An angel of God called from heaven." (Gen. 21:17).

O great Archangel of God Salafiel, who gives prayer to the one who prays! Teach me to pray a fervent, humble, contrite, heartfelt, concentrated and tender prayer.

Holy Archangel of God Salafiel! You pray to God for believers, beg His mercy for me, a sinner, that the Lord will deliver me from all troubles and sorrows, and from illnesses, and from vain death, and from eternal torment, that the Lord will vouchsafe me the Kingdom of Heaven with all the Saints, in forever and ever. Amen.

The Holy Archangel Salafiel, whose name translated from Aramaic means Angel of Prayer, Prayer to God, or the Prayer Book of God, according to the belief of the Orthodox Church, appeared to Hagar in the desert when Abraham sent her and her son to Egypt, their homeland. “She went and got lost in the desert... there was no water... and she left the boy under one bush and went... For she said: I don’t want to see the boy die. And she... raised a cry and wept, and God heard the voice of the boy... and the Angel of God He called to Hagar from heaven and said to her: “What is the matter with you? Hagar, do not be afraid; God heard the voice of the lad from where he is; stand up, lift up the lad and take him by the hand... And God opened her eyes, and she saw a well of water. alive, and she went and filled a bottle with water and gave the boy something to drink." (Gen. 21:14-19).

“And so the Lord gave us a whole host of prayer angels, with their leader Salafiel,” writes Bishop Innocent of Kherson, “so that with the pure breath of their lips they would warm our cold hearts to prayer, so that they would admonish us when and how to pray, so that they would offer our very offerings to the throne of grace. When you see, brethren, on the icon the Archangel standing in a prayerful position, with his eyes downcast, with his hands reverently placed on his chest (to his chest), then know that this is Salafiel.” (Cit. cit., pp. 11-12).

The book “Guide to the Writing of Icons” says: “The Holy Archangel Salafiel, a man of prayer, always praying to God for people and rousing people to prayer. He is depicted with his face and eyes bowed (lowered) down, and his hands pressed (folded) with a cross on chest, like one tenderly praying." (Farusov, pp. 226-227).

Holy Archangel Salafiel, awaken me day and night to the praise of the Divine. And pray to God for me, a sinner. Amen.

Archangel Jehudiel.

Archangel Jehudiel (praise of God).

“He will command his angels concerning you, to guard you in all your ways.” (Ps. 90:11).

Oh, great Archangel of God Jehudiel, zealous defender of the glory of God! You excite me to glorify the Holy Trinity, awaken me, who is lazy, to glorify the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit, and beg the Lord Almighty to create a pure heart in me, and renew a right spirit in my womb, and with the Master’s spirit confirm me to worship God in spirit and truth.

Holy Archangel of God Jehudiel, ever-present companion and intercessor of all those who struggle on the path of Christ! Arouse me from the heavy sleep of sinful laziness, and fight a good fight, enlighten me and strengthen me, in the name of the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit, now and ever and unto ages of ages. Amen.

According to the sacred tradition of the Orthodox Church, God sent the Archangel Jehudiel to precede the people confessing the one true God in the conquest of the land of pagan peoples.

Moses, after forty days of fasting and prayer, ascended Mount Sinai, where God gave him the Law, which the entire Old Testament Church had to observe. And Moses conveyed to the people of God the words spoken by the Lord: “Behold, I am sending My angel before you to guard you on the way and to bring you to the place that I have prepared for you; watch yourselves before Him and listen to His voice; do not persist against Him, because he will not forgive your sin, for my name is in him." (Ex. 23; 20-21).

Then God revealed to people that not only every person, but even the people, needs the constant help of God’s Angels on the way to the place that “God has prepared for those who love Him.” (1 Cor. 2:9).

The name of the Holy Archangel Jehudiel, translated into Russian, is the Glory of God or the Praise of God, because he really, as the inscription on the fresco of the Annunciation Cathedral says, “has the ministry of affirming people who work hard or, for the glory of God, to intercede for them reward.”

As explained in the “Guide to the Writing of Icons,” the Archangel of God Jehudiel “is depicted holding a golden crown in his right hand, as a reward from God for useful and pious works to holy people, and in his left hand a scourge of three black ropes with three ends, as punishment for sinners for laziness in pious works." (Fartusov, p. 227).

“Each of us, from young to old, is obliged to live and work for the glory of God,” writes Archbishop Innocent of Kherson. “The greater the feat, the higher and brighter the reward. In the right hand of the Archangel is not just a crown: it is a reward for every Christian who works for the glory of God." (Cit. cit., p. 13).

Holy Archangel Jehudiel, strengthen me for every work and labor. And pray to God for me, a sinner. Amen.

Archangel Barachiel.

Archangel Barachiel (God's blessing).

This name is known only from legends. It does not appear in the Bible or the Gospel.

“My angel is with you, and he is the protector of your souls.” (Jer. 6).

O great Archangel of God Barachiel, who stands before the Throne of God and from the Throne brings blessings to the house of God’s servants! Ask the Lord God for mercy and blessing, may the Lord bless from Zion and from His holy mountain, and increase the abundance of the fruits of the earth, and give us health and salvation, victory and victory over our enemies, and preserve us for many years.

Holy Archangel Barachiel, bringing blessings from the Lord to us! Bless me to make a good start in correcting my careless life, so that I may please the Lord my Savior in everything, now and ever and unto ages of ages. Amen.

Barachiel - Blessing of God.

The book “Guide to the Writing of Icons” says the following about him: “The Holy Archangel Barachiel, the dispenser of God’s blessings and intercessor, asking for God’s benefits to us: he is depicted carrying white roses on his chest on his clothes, as if rewarding, at the command of God, for prayers, works and moral behavior of people and foretelling bliss and endless peace in the Kingdom of Heaven." (Fartusov, p. 227). These white roses mean God's blessing. What could be purer and more fragrant than white roses, from which rose oil is extracted? So the Lord, through His Archangel Barachiel, sends His blessing from the depths of his clothing to people for their prayers and labors.

“Since the blessings of God are varied,” writes St. Innocent of Kherson, “then the ministry of this Angel is varied: through him the blessing of God is sent to every deed, to every good activity in life.” (Cit. cit., p. 14).

Holy Archangel Barachiel, intercede for me mercy from the Lord. And pray to God for me, a sinner. Amen.

Archangel Jeremiel.

Archangel Jeremiel (height of God).

Mentioned in a non-canonical book:
3 Ezra 4, 36.

“To this Jeremiel the Archangel answered me” (3 Ezra 4:36)

“In the III book of Ezra (4:36) the Archangel Jeremiel (the height of God) is also mentioned,” writes Archimandrite Nicephorus in the “Biblical Encyclopedia” (M., 1891, p. 63). He was present at the first conversation between Archangel Uriel and the priest Ezra and answered the latter’s question about the signs preceding the end of the sinful world and about the beginning of the eternal kingdom of the righteous.
