GUARDIAN ANGEL

Guardian Angels are the servants of our salvation, so we are not alone in our earthly life, in our labors for the salvation of our immortal soul. We know for sure that our helpers are with us, protecting us from all sorts of troubles encountered on the path of life, and from the wrath of God deserved by each of us. Our Guardian Angel is a being who loves us endlessly. He loves us with the fullness of his love. And his love is great, and its effect is strong, since, contemplating God, he sees eternal Love, which desires our salvation.

Our Guardian Angel is like our second mother. He has the same concern for us, and even more. Mother takes special care of us while we are in infancy and childhood. Our Guardian Angel, from the moment of our baptism until the last days of our lives, is our caring teacher. And, if we ourselves do not push him away from us during our earthly life, he will lead our soul to worship God when the time comes to separate the soul from the body.

Our Guardian Angels are powerful in their personal virtues, powerful in the strength they receive from God, and powerful in the prayers they send for us to the Almighty God.

Everything that is good, pure, bright in us: every good thought, every good movement of the heart, our prayer, repentance, good deeds - all this is born in us and is accomplished at the inspiration of our invisible Guardian Angel. Acting through our conscience and our heart, it is he, our Angel, who keeps us from sin and temptation, it is he who helps us fight temptations, it is he who instills in us the fear of a serious fall.

The Guardian Angel given to us is like our expanded and revealed conscience. He strives with all his might to save us, and we have no right to interfere with him in this. We must help him in his efforts to save us. We must ask him to enrich our minds with an abundance of holy thoughts and strengthen our habit of pious reflections. We are obliged to love him as our older and stronger brother. But in fact, we so often forget about him, do not pray to him, with our sins we insult his shrine, but he again and again shows his concern for us. He intercedes for us before the mercy of God, he begs God for our needs, and the Heavenly Father will never refuse him his requests.

But why do the Angels of God show such concern for people?

Firstly, because they are servants of God and received a command from God to protect and save people. Secondly, they themselves are creations of God, and the words apply to them, just like to people: Be merciful, just as your Father is merciful(). They understand this and try, imitating their Creator and God, to show both their mercy and their long-suffering towards people..

What joy it gives them to save souls whom they have redeemed with His Blood and who (with their help) will share with them their glory and their bliss!

If we were just a little more sensitive, we would notice how carefully our Guardian Angel helps us return through repentance to the path of salvation. He not only encourages us to repent, but he also promises to remind us of all our sins, all of life’s mistakes and missteps.

Our Guardian Angels, messengers to us from God, freely and quickly make their way from God to us and from us to God (as long as our deeds do not interfere with this). They come from God to us to bring us His grace; They also ascend from us to God in order to convey to Him our prayers and thanksgivings.

How close our Guardian Angel should be to each of us! What confidence we should have in him! During our lifetime we can tell him the most intimate secrets of our soul. Today, brothers and sisters, we celebrate in honor of the Archangel of God Michael and other ethereal Heavenly Powers. In the magnificence of the holiday, naming the Archangels and Angels, Cherubim and Seraphim, glorifying the Lord, we remember, among other ethereal Heavenly Powers, our Guardian Angel. Let us think about how easy it is for us to reflect on the examples of the saints, examples from the Holy Gospel and receive edification, and how difficult it is to constantly turn in prayer to the one who is closest to us, who is constantly vigilant about our salvation, to reflect and talk about the holy Angels.
For many years I have been performing divine services in church. Over the years, how many prayer services have been performed for the holy saints of God, to whom our parishioners turn with prayerful gratitude and with a request for gracious help, how many notes have been read about health, about salvation, about the sick... And there are literally single requests to perform a prayer service to the Guardian Angel. But the holy Guardian Angel constantly remains with us. Like all Angels, servants of God, he was appointed minister of our salvation. Let us think about this, brothers and sisters, let us remember the example from the Holy Gospel.
One day the disciples asked the Lord: Teach us to pray(), and the Lord in His sermon left us all a sacred prayer, which each of us knows by heart. It contains the words: Our Father who art in Heaven... Thy will be done on earth as it is in Heaven(). We ask God that His holy will, carried out unquestioningly and completely by the holy Angels in Heaven, will also be fulfilled by us here on earth.
The Lord also said to the people around Him: See that you do not despise one of these little ones, for I tell you that their angels in heaven always see the face of my Father in heaven.(). This means that the smaller, humble ones have the greatest boldness before God, because their Guardian Angels constantly intercede before the Face of God for them. If you are not like children, that is, you are not “lesser,” you will not enter the Kingdom of Heaven. Nicodemus, a wise old man and teacher of the Jewish people, asked the Lord Jesus Christ: is it really necessary to be born a second time in order to enter the Kingdom of Heaven? answered him with reproach: you are a teacher of Israel and cannot understand that you need to be reborn in spirit in order to enter the Kingdom of Heaven (). And now, brothers and sisters, let’s combine these three examples into one. So, we pray, we want it to be the same here on earth as in the Kingdom of Heaven. But the Lord says that only those who become like the “lesser” will enter the Kingdom of Heaven, which means that they need to be reborn, as if born again, to become as pure, as sincere as children. Anyone who comes to this state will receive great boldness before God through the intercessions of his Guardian Angel.
Our church customs provide one very edifying testimony. In ancient times, when people were tonsured into monasticism, they were given a rounded, tight-fitting cap to the monk's head, similar to the kind that children wear. Nowadays, only in the attire of the Patriarch of Moscow, the so-called doll, this ancient tradition has been preserved. It is monastic repentance that becomes evidence of a second birth; it is precisely this kind of attire, which is more common to see on children, that is the outward expression of the fact that, first of all, it is necessary to acquire a pure and peaceful spirit. And although none of us can say that we have achieved such a state, everyone must remember that we are called to find it. And so we pray: We ask the Lord for a peaceful, faithful, mentor, guardian of our souls and bodies.
Twice during the Liturgy, when the great sacred Sacrament of the Eucharist is celebrated, we ask for this. During Vespers and Matins, during home morning and evening prayers, we ask the Lord to give us a Guardian Angel. For what? This, according to the definition of the ancient Romans, is Genius loci, the good spirit of the place.

In other situations, advice and help from someone invisible and intangible can come anywhere. Then they strive to call him “Guardian Angel”. In this case, good deeds extend to one specific person, but everywhere, i.e. It is not the place that is preserved, but it.

Some researchers, more often theologians, believe that the Guardian’s actions manifest themselves exclusively in the area of ​​thinking and decision-making. Others use the term “subconscious” (not quite consistent with the generally accepted one), which is included in our actions (which are previously determined by free will, regardless of how complicated we have made our lives) only after asking for help.

From experience it follows that such a “request” is a purely individual matter, requiring great effort and determination. Some who have experienced such a state compare it with the call of a Middle Ages man to the Devil - with an offer to give his soul in exchange for salvation, for a way out of the situation. Therefore, most often the “subconscious” helps people who are on the verge of despair. They believe that if everything is in vain, then only the Guardian Angel (Guardian Spirit) will help them.

Researchers suggest that such an explosion of emotions, an inaudible cry of despair, opens a channel of communication with the global information field.

At the same time, the Guardian Spirit can be not only a “caring nanny” or “advisor,” but also a “guardian,” a savior of health and life if the situation forces him to act actively and instantly.

A number of examples can be given to confirm this. Psychic and clairvoyant Berenice (Maria Serzhengova) says:

“It can be a savior when our health is threatened or our physical body may suffer. I myself experienced a story that I cannot fully explain and which was a clear result of the actions of my Guardian Angel. To reach the chandelier, I had to stand on an unstable table. At some point, I felt that I was falling backwards onto a heavy oak bench. I also had time to think that if I hit it, I would definitely break my spine.

But what turned out to be even more mysterious was that the “soft pillow” that separated me from the parquet gradually disappeared and I sank with my back and buttocks to the floor. I didn’t have any support on my arms and legs, and the “pillow” existed only mentally, and underneath me there was bare parquet!”

If we assume that the happy outcome of the fall was the work of the Guardian Angel, then he really behaved partly as a “nanny”, partly as a “guardian”. Or maybe, in a state of direct threat, it was possible to influence the gravitational field, creating a mental “cushion”? This “cushion” could push away the bench.

One of Berenika’s patients, an elderly lady, said: “It was late in the evening, I got off the tram, quickly walked around it from behind, took a step... right in front of a speeding truck. There was virtually no way to avoid injury or death. The car was very close, my movements were hampered by heavy clothes, and I had two full bags in my hands. The next moment I remember was that I was sitting on the asphalt on the other side of the tram tracks. There were neatly placed bags nearby (one of them contained several bottles of Pepsi!).”

She understood that she was “transported” a good 5-6 meters back, but did not understand how this could happen and who helped her. The street was completely empty. The truck disappeared into the distance, the tram calmly moved away.

Reflecting on what happened, she remembered several more similar situations: “True, then there was no need to move me, it was enough to stop me. And suddenly I seemed to come across something elastic, stopping me, and at a distance of centimeters a man was running, a horse harnessed to a sleigh was racing.”

In such cases, many scientists recall the famous “shun reflex,” when a person, when faced with an unexpected threat, made simply unimaginable jumps, and the “jumper” was by no means an athlete. This reflex (very ancient, unconscious, preserved from very distant ancestors) is explained, perhaps, by the need to mobilize forces in a split second in order to escape from a predator’s attack.

Nowadays, it can only be included as an exception, but it is very effective. Acts of maximum mobilization of muscle forces are similar, although somewhat drawn out in time: when a mother, in order to save her child, holds a huge stone, a falling tree and even... a truck.

L.N., who never carried an iron stick with him. unexpectedly picked her up from work on his way home. He was met by a couple of "gop-stoppers". He used a stick for the first time in his life, neutralizing one of the thugs and “turning off” the second. Coincidence? Maybe. But this explanation seems too far-fetched. Preparation for the defense was purposeful.

But the situation is different. A certain P.I. found himself in a difficult situation from which he could practically find no way out. He lived at that time in a small town. One afternoon I was relaxing by the river. On the way home I saw a large growth of pale toadstools near the fence - typical and well identified. I passed by, but could not forget about them.

Gradually, the thought formed in his mind - to poison his pursuers. And he immediately imagined how this could be done without danger to himself. After some hesitation, I returned back and... did not find any mushrooms. I decided that I didn’t remember the exact place, but the “picture” - mushrooms by the fence - was imprinted in my memory. Walked all the way to the river - no toadstools!

I walked up the streets again (I walked on one side the whole time) - there are fences, no toadstools! Once again he walked the same path, carefully examining the ground near the fences, assuming that some boy had trampled them. But there were no traces.

Evil persistence took possession of P.I., because he perfectly remembered the appearance of the mushrooms, they were pale toadstools, but he could not find them, having walked the path again. Returning home, he abandoned his criminal plan. What was it? Did dark forces suggest an ominous decision? Or the subconscious managed to create a pseudo-material thought form, a visible “hint” that lasted a short time due to weak energy.

Perhaps it was the Guardian Angel who dematerialized the real-life poisonous mushrooms or destroyed the mentioned thought form - he can do it(?).

When asked whether it was possible not to have a Guardian Angel at all, Berenice did not answer directly: “I met people who looked like human beings, but were not human. They definitely didn't have a Guardian Angel. Some psychics or sensitive mediums claim that they can feel the presence of something invisible, but with high energy, not directly related to the aura, biofield of a given person and yet related specifically to him.

Who are Angels and Archangels and what is the difference?

Several saints have given the hierarchy of Angelic Forces. The most well-known and accepted by the Church is the following classification, developed on the basis of the books of the Old and New Testaments by Saints Dionysius the Areopagite and Gregory the Theologian:

According to Sacred Tradition, Angels are individuals, but their nature is different from human and animal. They are taller and more perfect than humans, although they also have limitations. Their nature is this:
They are invisible to the human eye, but can be revealed to people only by the will of God.
Appearing in the human world, they can influence it (the Old Testament contains stories of how Angels destroyed the cities of the pagans).
They move on land, in water, and in the air.
Angels can read people's thoughts and can speak to people of all nationalities in all languages.
Angels are similar to each other and have no gender, usually depicted as beautiful young men.
Even before God began creating the Earth, the Angels had free will. Some of them, together with Lucifer, wanted to rise above God, becoming proud; other Angels chose the side of good. Since then, neither the bright Angels nor the fallen angels (angels, demons, devils led by Lucifer, that is, Satan) change their will and, accordingly, do only good and only evil deeds.

The Angelic Hosts are headed by Archangel Michael. His very name “Michael” is translated from Hebrew “Who is like God.” His title of Heavenly Archangel means that Michael is the leader of the army of angels. Unfortunately, in addition to our loved ones, who always wish us only the best, among our acquaintances there may be envious neighbors or colleagues, and friends who suddenly became angry with us, and even our closest people, whose evil word can turn into a curse for a person, not living the church life, not resorting to the power of prayer. An ordinary meeting with an ill-wisher, ending in a quarrel or deception, can leave a deep trace of resentment or despondency in the soul.

It happens even worse: a person turns to sorcerers and psychics to harm another. And the other goes to the same psychic to take revenge or drive out melancholy from the soul.

But there is a way out of this vicious circle! In any trouble, you need to turn to the Lord, His saints and Heavenly Powers, so that with the help of God evil is transformed into good, in order to avoid mental confusion.
