Metal-plastic, plastic and copper pipes

Each installer or designer goes through several stages of professional growth. When a business is young and there is no accumulated experience yet, as a rule, its customers are offered inexpensive and maximum simple solutions. Subsequently, having eliminated leaks, replaced prematurely worn-out equipment, lost a lot of time and money, and sometimes tarnished his reputation, the installer thinks about switching to higher quality and more reliable, as they say, “problem-free” products.

Of course, and more expensive. Here, the main selection criteria are the manufacturer’s innovations, the versatility and originality of its solutions, the wide model range, ease of installation, etc. At the same time, products should not be unreasonably expensive and pay for themselves as quickly as possible. The entire FAR range meets these criteria, which is what makes it so popular among installation organizations throughout Russia.

Italian plant FAR Rubinetterie S.p.A. offers a wide range of valves and components for connecting modern heating devices: control valves; shut-off and balancing valves; thermostatic valves; four-way units for a one-pipe system; four-way units for a two-pipe system. The outlets of the connected heating system pipelines can be either from the floor or from the wall.

Valves and units are mounted on plastic, metal-plastic, copper and steel pipes. At the same time, connecting plastic, metal-plastic and copper pipes diameters from 14 to 20 mm are produced directly with FAR ends with metric thread M24×19. By reliability this connection Comparable to a press connection - even if the nuts loosen after a heating/cooling cycle, the connection will remain sealed due to double O-rings and more frequent metric thread cutting.

Valves of ½ʺ size can be installed in heating systems with a working pressure of 16 atm. Tests are now being carried out and in the near future valves of ¾ʺ size for a working pressure of 16 atm will become available - while the main manufacturers present on the Russian market offer the installation of high-strength radiators with valves for 10 atm. ½ʺ size valves are supplied to the Russian market with sealing material already applied to the shank, which eliminates additional costs and the risk of incorrect installation.

Manually operated FAR angle valves have very low flow resistance, comparable to ball valves. For example, the capacity of control and shut-off valves ¾ʺ is 5 and 6 m3/h, respectively. The use of thermostatic fittings is not a fad or a tribute to fashion. With its help, they create comfortable conditions and significantly save on operating costs.

SNiP 41-01-2003 “Heating, ventilation and air conditioning” recommends installing them “as a rule,” and MGSN 2.01-99 regulates this more strictly: “In building heating systems, automatic control of heating devices should be provided by installing thermostats.” Actually, the price of even the most expensive devices is not so high as to seriously think about whether the game is worth the candle? The answer is almost always clear - it’s worth it.

Typically, thermostatic valves have hydraulic presetting mechanisms, which are devices that change (narrow) the open cross-sectional area of the flow from the valve seal. As a result, the presetting device, together with the valve, greatly narrows the flow, and the valve becomes a collection point for dirt, causing obstruction of the pipeline. Moreover, the cleanliness of the coolant in domestic heating systems, especially with steel pipes and steel radiators, leaves much to be desired.

FAR thermostatic valves become less clogged because They do not have a preset function. Hydraulic balancing of the circuit when installing FAR valves is carried out by shut-off valves, unlike other manufacturers. FAR thermostatic valves have a progressively moving spring-loaded spool with a stroke of 3.5 mm. The rod has two O-shaped seals made of high-temperature EPDM rubber.

When the position of the rod changes, the coolant flow through the heating device changes, and thereby the heat transfer of the heating device is regulated. Comfortable room temperature is set by turning the plastic control knob on the valve, or by installing a thermostatic or electrothermal head instead, which automatic mode controls the operation of the valve (Fig. 2).

Although the use of electrothermal heads slightly increases the cost of the connection unit, it retains the original throughput of the valve. Thermostatic valves with electrothermal heads controlled by room thermostats are effective for automatically regulating the heat transfer of floor-mounted convectors (Fig. 3).

For heated towel rails, the most convenient are corner valves with the axle axis orthogonal to the inlet and outlet channels, because in this case, the valve handles and thermostatic head are located parallel to the wall and are less susceptible to external shocks (for example, from opening doors), which is especially important in confined spaces (Fig. 4). For modern heating devices appearance is important because they are increasingly not hidden from our view.

This also applies to fittings. LadyFar design valves combine good performance and excellent appearance. They come in a variety of finishes: lacquered brass, metallic silver, white enamel with gold plated, and white enamel with nickel-plated fittings. In the LadyFar series, in addition to standard shut-off and thermostatic valves, there are bottom connection units for one-pipe and two-pipe systems.

The units are used for hidden piping, increasing the reliability of the system, since hidden connections of pipelines can be avoided. The bottom connection unit with thermostatic and shut-off valve has an independently adjustable bypass. With a completely closed bypass, the unit is installed in a two-pipe system, and with a partially or completely open bypass - in a one-pipe system (Fig. 5). The connections of the units are made for FAR ends with metric thread 24×19.

A universal bottom connection unit (Fig. 6) with a thermostatic and shut-off valve is installed in single-pipe or two-pipe heating systems, with hidden bottom piping to the radiator (Fig. 7). Data obtained experimentally show that the heat transfer of a radiator with a lower single-point connection is reduced by 5% of the nominal heat transfer value. The coolant is introduced into the radiator through a probe tube and discharged through a ring channel around the probe in the body of the unit.

For optimal distribution of coolant throughout the radiator and maximum heat transfer from the radiator, the length of the probe should be ½ or ⅔ of the length of the radiator. If necessary longer length The FAR range includes probes with lengths of 700 and 1000 mm. The unit has an independently adjustable bypass located under the thermostatic valve. With a completely closed bypass, the unit is installed in a two-pipe system, and with a partially or completely open bypass - in a single-pipe system.

There is also a temperature control unit without a shut-off and balancing valve, the throughput of which is approximately 7% higher (Fig. 8). Of the control units, of which there are about 20 types in FAR’s assortment, I would like to focus on the unit for a single-pipe system with the highest throughput— 3.5 m3/h. The unit has a control valve and an unregulated bypass. Opening and closing the passage of the heat-carrying fluid to the heater is done manually using a special handle.

The system of internal passages, determined by the position of the handle, changes the amount of liquid that flows through the heater, keeping the total capacity of the circuit unchanged. The connection of the supply and return pipelines to the unit is interchangeable. It has been experimentally established that when the coolant is released through an annular channel around the probe and returned through the probe, heat transfer at high flow rates of 150 kg/h (characteristic of a single-pipe system) decreases below the nominal value by less than 5% (Fig. 9).

Based on the unit housing with various nozzles, it is possible to supply coolant to the top point of the radiator or connect a steel panel radiator in a “single” way. Connecting a steel panel radiator is achieved by replacing the probe from straight to curved. The coolant is introduced into the radiator through a curved probe tube and discharged through an annular channel around the probe in the unit housing (Fig. 10 and 11).

Equipment of the Italian plant FAR Rubi-netterie S.p.A. is well known in Russia and has been successfully supplied to our country for 15 years. The variety of options and versatility of connection to any system allow you to select the optimal size and parameters of FAR fittings, both for new construction and for repair work in already built facilities.

FAR bottom connection units used in heating systems are necessary for connecting heating devices that have connecting fittings on the bottom of the radiator. The fittings help to manually control and adjust the coolant flow in single-pipe and/or two-pipe systems. The compact design of the unit and the hidden placement of the radiator piping do not interfere with the aesthetics and harmonious appearance of the interior of the room, providing the opportunity to implement various design solutions and ideas.

DESCRIPTION

The design of the lower connection unit consists of thermostatic and/or shut-off valves, combined into one housing and connected “directly” to the heating device and pipeline. The shut-off properties allow you to quickly disconnect and connect the heat supply to this radiator. And the presence of thermoregulatory properties helps to monitor and control temperature regime indoors. The body can have a straight or angular structure. The range includes models with a distance between taps of 35 mm or 50 mm.

An important component is the components for the bottom connection units. To connect different types of pipes, it is necessary to use special adapters of the appropriate size. And decorative plastic sockets are suitable for masking holes and junctions of pipes with a wall or floor.
