STEP 9. Video slide

In Proshow Producer, you can use not only photos, but also videos in your slideshow! Of course, editing a large film here will be problematic, but inserting short videos will be very useful. The principle of working with video is almost the same as with photos. You take it and drag the video file into an empty slide. But this will have to wait. My video, up to 4 minutes long, took about 10 minutes to load into the program. I managed to warm up lunch J

When the file is ready for use, you can view it in the program along with the slide show you create. You can leave everything unchanged, but you should still know that videos, like photos, can be scaled, rotated, adjusted in every possible way and + cropped. I have a separate one about this.

But I'll show you briefly how to do it.

Double-click on the video slide and open Layer Options – Slide Options – Crop.

Using checkboxes and viewing tools, you select the desired video fragment to display. Sometimes it is useful to use the scale slider to more accurately select a frame. When everything is ready, click “OK”.

I completely forgot to show it in screenshots, so I’ll explain it in words. After you have added a video to the panel, the time of this slide will be equal to the time of the video file. If you trimmed the video, I recommend either manually changing the slide time or checking the box here: Slide Options – Layer Options – Video Options – Slide (Video Time for Slide). That's it.

STEP 10. Save the slideshow to your computer

While working on a slide show, you should periodically save the presentation. Especially in those cases if you did not have time to finish it. To do this, go to File – Save As... and save it, giving it a clear name and remembering where you saved it. Keep in mind that you did not save the finished video, but a working file that you can return to later.

While you're working on your slideshow, I don't recommend deleting or moving photos, music, and videos to another location on your computer.

When work on the slide show is completed, it needs to be exported from the program into a finished video clip. To do this, switch to the “PUBLISH” window. Upper right corner of the program. To add a second (third, etc.) music track, you just need to drag it onto the soundbar (like the first).

To edit audio tracks we usually go here: Presentation – Presentation Music... Or like alternative option, double-click on the audio track under the slides.

Songs can be swapped using the arrows in the “Sound Tracks” block.

Select the track you want to trim and click on the “Voice Up and Down” button.

Many people think that in order to build a beautiful video sequence from a photo, and even put music on it, you need a video editor like Sony Vegas or Adobe Premier. But it's like shooting sparrows from a cannon!

There are quite a few programs that are specifically designed for creating slide shows and allow you to do this quickly and efficiently even for those who have not previously opened anything more complex than Paint or Power Point. After installation and launch, the program will offer you one of two operating modes: simple and advanced.

I recommend choosing advanced because it gives you much more options for manually customizing your slideshow. If you are worried that you will not understand all the options, it is absolutely in vain. The program is very simple and now I will prove it to you :)

On the left side of the window there is a panel for calling the following options (from top to bottom):

• Import files (photos, music, videos). It is also possible to directly record video and sound if you have a webcam and microphone connected to the PC.
• Filter overlay.
• Adding transitions between clips.
• Adding titles.
• Overlaying stickers and shapes in the form of small graphic images.
• Zooming and panning a clip.
• Chroma key – removing the background from a video.

Photos and music are added to separate tracks of the editing table located at the bottom of the program window. You can add files there by simply dragging them from Explorer or by pressing CTRL+O.

Each photo on the editing table is called a “clip,” and together with the music they make up a “project.” If you left-click on a clip, its quick editing tools will become active:

With their help you can perform the following operations:

• Undo/redo, delete
• Separation (cutting)
• Cropping
• Color correction
• Adding transitions to all clips in a project at once
• Record audio using a microphone
• Editing clip properties (volume, playback speed, duration, etc.)

The default program already contains quite a lot good set of preset filters, transitions and title design options. They are conveniently sorted into categories, so it will be very easy to find something based on the features of your slide show.

If the available set does not seem enough to you, you can click on the “Movavi Effects Store” link and go to the Additional Effects Store. There you can purchase something more unique and interesting for an additional fee, for example:

To add an effect to a photo, say camera shake, simply drag it onto any clip. After this, a green square with a white asterisk will appear in its left corner:

Transitions must be added between clips, and they will be indicated by a special icon on the editing table. By clicking on it twice, you will open a window transition properties settings:

As you can see, working with the program is very simple and intuitive - I personally got used to it in about five minutes and never looked at the user manual.

Place your photos in the desired order, adjust the duration of their display in the slide show, add effects and transitions. The current state of the project is viewed using a special player located on the left side of the program window:
