How to make a nest out of hay with your own hands. How to make a decorative nest for eggs

As you know, the ideal gift is one in which love and a piece of the soul of its creator are invested. Any thing made with your own hands is unique, which means it should definitely please the birthday person. The article will focus on making a nest. Of course, this is not a wasp's nest or even a crow's nest. We will talk about a cute gift option that can become a real decorative item. You can give a beautiful thing to a girl for her birthday or March 8th. Let's see how to make a nest with your own hands?

What will you need?

To make an original nest with funny chicks, you should prepare wire, a washcloth, pliers, a spruce (or willow) branch and beautiful artificial feathers.

1. So, to make a decorative nest, you will need to be patient. Let's start by creating the basis for the future craft. Using wire pliers, you need to make a cross-shaped structure, adjusting its ends to the desired size. You should use thick wire to make the craft durable.

2. Then you need to braid the entire basket with thinner wire, imitating a cuckoo’s nest. Don't go overboard with the amount of wire. Remember that this is just the basics. Next, we begin to weave spruce or willow branches into our frame, doing this according to the principle of an ordinary basket: we weave each twig, threading it in a circle.

3. It is not at all necessary to do everything very carefully, because protruding elements will create the illusion of resemblance to a real bird's nest. However, to make the structure durable, it is better to secure the willow branches with thin wire. Let there be branches different lengths, this will give the craft a special charm, reminiscent of an explosion of creative imagination.

4. Now you know how to make a nest with your own hands. But that's not all. In order for it to become a work of art, it needs to be beautifully designed. Beads should be placed on a thin wire, and then this decorative element should be secured to the branches of an improvised nest. It is better to carefully distribute them throughout the structure so that everything looks as natural as possible.

5. The nest can also be decorated with feathers. Simply place colorful feathers on the bottom of the craft. You can also decorate the edges of the nest with them, after adding a little glue. This should be done very carefully so as not to spoil the craft.

6. To create a beautiful effect, try adding glitter to your nest, fixing it with hairspray. Glitter will add a touch of mystery and charm to your homemade nest.

7. You can create a variety of different crafts by placing eggs or chicks made from ordinary foam rubber painted with gouache in a nest. In general, what is enough for your creativity?

Thus, your craft can become an original gift friends for a birthday or any other holiday. Knowing how to make a nest with your own hands, you don’t have to worry about a present or create amazing design works for sale.

This is very convenient especially in the fall, we can do whatever our heart desires, we also need to use our imagination. Now it’s just a spontaneously invented craft, I’ll tell you how to make a bird's nest with your own hands, but it will be small and decorative, to decorate the room. We will supposedly make a nest on a tree; for such a craft we will need the following materials: green grass, be sure to dry the cement, turn it various trees, pebbles, threads, polystyrene foam and glue - a gun, rubber chickens, and also, most importantly, quail ones. Everything is done very simply, the most difficult thing will be to make the nest round, and then attach it to a branch. Well, let's do some DIY.

We prepared the necessary materials.

Let's start making a nest, take the branches and twist them under the base. We secure the branches with threads to prevent them from spreading.

We insert polystyrene foam into the middle of the made frame for the nest, and glue it to the branches if possible, if possible.

We cover everything on top with green grass, and we also wrap it with threads to the frame.

Birch cement and dilute it with ordinary water, according to the recipe, with the help of it we will secure our tree on which the nest will be.

We insert branches, or rather the trunk of a future decorative tree, into the cement. We fix it on top with stones for hardness.

Here is the top of the tree, here we need to attach a bird's nest.

Let's take a glue gun and pour glue onto the trunk where the nest will be, then pierce the foam with a branch, thereby hooking it. Be sure to glue where necessary.

When we use quail, it is better to make holes and take out all the insides. Then we put them in the nest and glue them on the side where the hole was. You should also glue a rubber yellow hen and a chicken in the nest on top.

The craft made from natural material is ready. Try making a bouquet the same way.

Remember that at any time you can add anything to the craft, the main thing is to show your imagination and make the craft exclusive.

Here is a photo of a bird's nest I made 7 years ago. There were several tree stumps in our kitchen at the time, used as stands for flower pots. My work fit perfectly into this eco-village interior. Then I made the same thing for my sister Margarita, and in her Moscow kitchen the nest with quail eggs looks quite organic.

It pleases my vanity to think that the idea to make a nest came to me on its own; I have never seen anything like it before. So this product is 100% my know-how.

You will need

Branches of grapes (they are usually cut in the fall - so that the grapes will not be damaged) or any other more or less flexible twigs;

Quail or any other poultry eggs;

A figurine of a bird, a butterfly and anything else you would like to add to the composition.

So, we take cut grape branches, preferably the thinnest and longest ones, and clear them of leaves. The branches do not necessarily have to be freshly cut; they remain quite elastic for several days. In my example, the branches are not the thinnest, so the nest will be rougher.

We weave something like a wreath from one branch. Don't be alarmed if branches break. Usually they do not break at all, but only crack. This gives the nest a natural angularity - birds do not build nests under a ruler. If the branch is completely broken, it doesn’t matter - just take another one.

On the resulting wreath we fasten branch after branch in a chaotic manner. This is vaguely reminiscent of basket weaving. Try to secure the ends of the branches between other closely intertwined branches so that they do not fall out.

We continue to weave until we achieve the desired “thickness” of weaving. By the way, I placed the scissors nearby so that the size of the nest could be seen. I didn't need them for work.

We continue. We insert new twigs into the holes between the already woven ones, as if “darning” these holes. The outlines of the future nest are already visible.

Now, we have almost completed the task.

It's probably time to stop. Eggs, even quail ones, will not fall out of such a nest. Don’t let it bother you green twigs. In a couple of weeks they will dry out and have the natural color of wood - just like in real bird's nests. If the nest turns out to be crooked or too flat, simply give it the required form hands. Don't be afraid if some twig snaps or even breaks.

I still had thin branches left, and I weaved two more smaller nests from them. Thin branches dry out faster, so these nests look like they are already completely finished.

Now we need to fill our nest with contents, namely eggs! You can, of course, put it in fresh eggs, but it’s better not to take risks - they might break, go rotten, or one of them will hatch.J

Take a quail egg and use the tip of a knife to make small holes from the sharp and blunt ends of the egg. The contents can be blown onto a saucer or drunk. Yes, yes, have a drink! You know it's raw quail eggs can be given even to children from 3 years old summer age? The quail has a very high temperature body, so salmonella and other nasties that want to harm our health do not survive in the egg. In addition, quail eggs are healthier than chicken eggs.

The dummies of eggs obtained in this way must be washed with water and dried.

If you cannot buy quail eggs, take chicken eggs. Release chicken eggs from the contents in the same way (although it is not advisable to drink them raw).

Dilute a little potassium permanganate in a yogurt cup, use a cotton swab and a black permanent marker to draw spots on dummies of chicken eggs. If you are going to use chicken eggs, the nest should not be too small.

Whatever eggs you use, they should be placed in the nest so that holes are not visible, as well as stamps on store-bought chicken eggs (if you were unable to paint them over).

Decorate the composition with a bird, flower, dragonfly, butterfly or decorate it with nothing, your work will still be irresistible. There are no two identical nests, and what you made is unique!

By the way, 3 days have passed since the nest was woven from green twigs. In this photo, as you can see, the greenery is gradually turning brown.

Advice. If over time the nest becomes dusty, rinse the eggs with water and dry them. The nest itself is also not afraid of water; rinse it under running water and, if necessary, go over it with an old toothbrush. Let dry, fill with clean eggs, and your nest is as good as new!

And finally, we offer you two more nest options. In our small apartments there is sometimes not enough space for large art objects. From very small twigs these crumbs are obtained. It will be difficult to find suitable eggs for them, so use anything that resembles eggs. In our case, these are beige beads and almonds in white glaze, but you can make eggs from salted dough, twist them from quilling paper, cut them out of polystyrene foam, etc.

These are the five nests we got. One of them shows chicken eggs without coloring. Quite an acceptable look, isn't it?

Greetings, my dear needlewomen! The tree of happiness is a way for modern craftswomen to express themselves and please loved ones. After all, topiary is now the most stylish and fashionable gift. Today I want to dedicate my master class to the wonderful time of year that has come, namely spring! “The time of spring has come, the time of flowering has come. And, therefore, the mood. It’s spring for everyone!” I, too, became infected with this mood and finally made a spring topiary with a nest for birds of paradise, which I had long dreamed of, but never got around to.

To create a topiary with your own hands we need:

  • mayonnaise bucket,
  • aluminum wire,
  • sewing threads,
  • PVA glue,
  • building plaster (alabaster).
  • artificial flowers,
  • tape,
  • patterned napkins,
  • crepe paper,
  • organza ribbon,
  • beads,
  • decorative birds and foam eggs.

Making a nest for birds

First you need to inflate a small balloon, treat it with Vaseline and wrap it tightly on all sides with threads soaked in PVA glue. Next, so that our structure dries well, we leave it lying on a mug or cup. After the nest has dried well, deflate the ball, pull it out through the hole and cut a larger entrance to the nest.

Next we decorate the entrance to the nest, for this we take an organza ribbon, thread a needle and thread along its entire length, stringing several shiny beads onto it every 2-3 stitches.
pan class="word">Tighten the ribbon a little and glue it with glue along the edge of the entrance to the nest.

Decorating a topiary pot

We will decorate the mayonnaise bucket with our own hands using a patterned napkin using the decoupage technique. To do this, we will divide the napkin into 2 layers; for the master class we will only need the top layer.
pan class="word">Then we dilute the PVA glue with water in a ratio of 1:1, apply the napkin to the bucket and with light movements of the brush dipped in the glue, transfer the napkin to the surface of the bucket. After drying, you can coat the finished work with acrylic varnish.

Stem for topiary, assembly and decoration

We make a stem for topiary with our own hands, on which we will form the bottom. We wrap the upper part of the wire with tape. Prepare the gypsum solution by diluting it with water, achieving the consistency of thick sour cream. Fill the bucket with this mixture and leave this structure alone for a while until it dries completely.

The master class has almost come to an end. Now you need to hang the nest in the stem and line it from the inside with a bedding of crepe paper cut into strips. Using the same method, we mask the surface of the filler in the bucket. Let's add a few feathers to the nest and put the eggs in their place.

The last step in the master class: we decorate the stem with artificial flowers and leaves with our own hands, and wrap them with tape.
pan class="word">We place the birds on the nest, secure them with glue.

My advice to you: don’t use too many bright colors in your work, it’s better to have 2-3 main shades, so the composition will look much better more attractive and more natural.

The result of the master class was this lovely bird handmade nest! It is not difficult to make sure that there is nothing complicated in making this topiary; even a novice craftswoman can do it. Besides, how great this delicate, spring composition looks.
pan class="word">It will not leave anyone indifferent and will perfectly decorate your room or the room of friends to whom you decide to give this topiary nest as a gift.

At the end of the article, as always, I want to introduce you to a master class on making a ball of thread with your own hands. As you can see, these balls can be used in various compositions and they look very beautiful on their own.
