  • pepper and salt (to taste).

  1. Chop the garlic and mix with mustard, soy sauce, salt and pepper.
  2. Wash the thighs with cool water, dry and place in the marinade for 60 minutes.
  3. Peel the onion and cut into half rings, fry in oil until golden brown.

  8. During baking, brush the meat with marinade three times.

  • salt 0.25 tsp.
  • ground paprika to taste
  • mixture of ground peppers to taste
  • garlic 3 cloves
  • apples 4 pcs.

How to cook whole chicken with apples in the oven

  1. I am preparing everything necessary. I carefully inspect the chicken for the presence of remaining feathers, wash it outside and especially thoroughly inside, while removing all internal organs, which often remain even in carcasses bought in a store.

  2. I am preparing the marinating mixture. Place mustard, vegetable oil, salt and spices in a small bowl.

  3. Add chopped garlic and mix well until a homogeneous mixture is obtained.

  4. I generously rub the chicken with this mixture.

  5. After this, I leave the carcass for 2-3 hours at room temperature so that it marinates properly. The ideal option would be to place the shredded chicken in a closed container or bag and put it in the refrigerator overnight, or best of all, for the whole day. This is exactly the option when the longer it takes, the juicier and more aromatic the meat will be.

  6. Peel the apples and cut them into quarters; if they are large, you can do smaller ones. I stuff the chicken tightly.

  7. I tie the legs with twine. This will help them stay together and the finished chicken will have a more attractive appearance.

  8. I wrap the tips of the wings and legs in foil, since these parts char very quickly when baked in the oven. I place the remaining apple slices in the mold near the chicken. In this form, I send the carcass to an oven preheated to 200 degrees for 1 hour.

  9. At the same time, after 30 minutes, periodically, once every 5-7 minutes, I open the oven and pour the melted fat on top of the chicken with a spoon, this will ensure the presence of crispy and golden-brown skin.

  10. In about an hour, the chicken with apples in the oven will be completely ready.

You can try it immediately, and baked apples will be an excellent side dish.

Note:

  • It is better to use sour apples; Antonovka is ideal;
  • if the chicken carcass is large, it is necessary to increase the cooking time proportionally;
  • The composition of the chicken marinade can be adjusted to your taste.

Then you can add your favorite spices. I like to use a pre-made chicken spice mix in this recipe. For those interested, the ingredients are as follows: salt, red sweet pepper, garlic, turmeric, coriander, ginger, fenugreek, chili, white mustard, cinnamon, Roman cumin, cloves, nutmeg. Spices also need to be thoroughly rubbed into the chicken, both outside and inside.

To give the chicken with apples in the oven an amazing aroma, peel the garlic. We cut one clove into fairly large pieces, and pass the remaining three through a garlic press or grind it into a paste on a fine grater. Rub this mixture thoroughly over the top of our chicken.

We put the chopped garlic inside the chicken.

Now you need to peel and rinse a medium-sized onion. Cut it into 4 parts and put it inside the chicken.

Wash the apples well, first cut them in half, remove the core and cut out the stems. Then cut each half in half again - however, this depends on the size of the apples. We also put apples inside the chicken.

The process of stuffing the chicken is over - now it needs to be sewn up so that nothing falls out during the baking process. To do this you will need a thick thread or several regular threads folded together. Using a large needle, sew the chicken up and tie off the thread at the ends.

Now you need to tie the legs. To do this, you need to lift them a little, connect them and wrap them crosswise with thread. Tie the ends.

The wings must be folded back. To do this, we place the outermost part of each wing behind the membrane and thereby press the wing more tightly to the carcass. See how I do it in the photos.

This method of wrapping the wings prevents them from burning during the baking process. And lovers of chicken wings will be able to fully enjoy this delicious piece of chicken baked with apples in the oven.

Step 3: Bake chicken with apples.


Preheat the oven until 180 degrees and place a baking sheet with chicken there, greased with vegetable oil. During baking, periodically pour the rendered fat over the chicken - this will prevent the chicken from drying out and will also give it a beautiful golden crust. Baking time depends on the size of the chicken, on average it will take 1.5-2 hours. For half an hour until cooked, place apple slices on a baking sheet with chicken and bake.

Step 4: Serve the baked chicken with apples.


Place the chicken on a plate, take out the threads and decorate with baked apples and flowers cut from tangerines. We cut the chicken right on the table and place it on plates along with the apples. Bon appetit!
